  1. Well. That’s nice. But he still doesn’t get it.Stop letting these terrorist thugs into the country, and his job might be a whole lot easier!! Whoops. To easy.

  2. Whew, long is right, but as you say, well worth the read.
I have liked Kenny all along and occasionally encourage him in his work with the immigrant community. The vast majority of these immigrants are private enterprise people and social conservatives and now the Conservatives are getting through to them before the NDP and Liberals fill them with their socialist lies.
I think Kenny is destined for more greatness, and am one of the recipients of the occasional email he sends out. Hopefully he will consider the leadership when Stephen Harper decides to leave the prime ministerial position. The NDP and Liberals detest Kenny.

  3. Heh, did you see the Muslim attack the guards at Buckingham Palace today?
He held a knife to his own throat with one hand and tried to stab the guards with the other. They tazed him bro.
Anyway talk about entitlement, he figured that by threatening to cut his own throat before he got to them, they would never dare hurt an anointed one.
The problem for him was one of the officers was also from the privileged class, and was allowed to stop him.

  4. Isn’t Kenney the best? I should say, isn’t the Honourable Jason Kenney the best?
He’s hard-working and has his priorities straight. (He’s a former Anglican, now a Roman Catholic.) I liked the vignette of his late-night calls with PM Harper, another hard worker. What a team! Eat your heart out, Leftards. Nothing beats smarts and hard work, not to mention taking one’s faith seriously.

  5. Kenny’s just a great all round minister, the type that existed before dithering careerist pols pandering to venal pressure groups and seeking lush sinecure became popular. Kenny gets the job done, he is open about his reforms. He’s inclusive in the process but eliminates the shrill radical fringe from that policy making process.
A guy who fixes broken systems and has support from a diverse base in going forward. We need him to fix the Native apartheid welfare state now immigration is fixed.

  6. What really made me smile about that article was the “unidentified” snivel servant, whining because some of these minorities leaders have access, to Kenney, … Not like the good old liberal days, when lefty academics, union bosses and other assorted filth has free run of Ottawa..

  7. 1. Run around to different cultural events gladhanding community leaders in a way conservatives would normally criticise Liberals for.
    2.?????????
    3. OMG BEST IMMIGRATION MINISTER EVAR. I know conservatives are shallow but wow. Easy to impress as long as you have the right style substance not required. And I thought Harper was the Right’s Obama maybe it’s actually this guy. What has Kenney done aside from make it a little harder to immigrate into Canada?
The article states that Canada should be admitting one million new immigrants per year—four times what it now admits—to fuel economic growth. “That’s insanity,” says Kenney. “You need to allow people time to integrate. They need good salaries, good-quality jobs, not just quantity.”
    Apparently he’s economically illiterate too.

  8. I’m very sorry but I have to differ with all you people heaping praise on MP Jason Kenney.
The guy is letting into Canada 350,000+++ immigrants a year -more than ANY Liberal A-Hole immigration minister has ever done in history.
We need to take a 10 year moratorium on immigration in this country, not increase the FLOOD of peoples that the Conservatives are bringing to Canada.

  9. Well, to those who don’t like Kenney we could always appease you by bringing Sergio Marchi back as Immigration Minister. Remember him? He was the dip$hit liberal who who allowed entry permits to thousands of foreign criminals including rapists, murderers, and suspected terrorists. People who in most cases were posted on Interpol but the libs decided to allow them in anyway for the sake of political correctness. And he also allowed in thousands of Somalis who promptly went on the welfare system and started funding warlords in Somalia with our tax money. Even when they found out about it Marchi ignored it and continued to hold open the flood gates to fraudulent immigrants and criminals. And people wonder why we had a reputation as being a terrorist-supporting nation?

  10. Las, you poor, confused troll…you would prefer to give credence to an unsupported opinion that 1 million immigrants are necessary for economic sustainability. The current levels are barely manageable in terms of provision of settlement and social services, at least in the major urban centres.
By any measurement Kenney is doing a remarkable job of integrating newcomers and advancing Canadian values.

  11. For winning over the 3rd world immigrant community and assisting in their prime concern of practical matters, Kenny deserves full marks, politically.
His reforms to deport immigrants who commit serious crime deserve an award. Most of the criminal organizations in our large cities are ethnic based from 3rd world immigrant communities. The Somalian and Jamaican gangs who shoot up Toronto come to mind. Though many of them aren’t touched by the reforms if they’ve obtained citizenship(e.i Kadr family) or were born here.
The one question not addressed is how to Canadianize 250,000+ of 3rd world immigrants yearly. Given that the schools and media have abandoned that task, it’s simply not getting done.
Thus each year Canada becomes more like the countries these people fled and less like the country they fled to.
Political theory of Natural Rights, citizen sovereignty and Common-Law need to mandatory for immigrants and native born Canadians, too.

  12. Hope he doesn’t burn out before he has the chance to be PM. He’d be the only one I would like to see replace PM Harper in the future, and it looks like PM Harper knows how to tap into his energy and sensibility.
The guy has backbone to get up and walk out of one of those ‘cultural’ gatherings.

  13. If Kenney was the best minister ever he would stop all immigration and immediately deport anyone here illegally. He has taken steps in the right direction but we still have hundreds of thousands showing up here annually putting stress on our infrastructure and destroying Canadian identity.

  14. “…The one question not addressed is how to Canadianize 250,000+ of 3rd world immigrants yearly. Given that the schools and media have abandoned that task, it’s simply not getting done. …

Larry, I don’t think the schools and the media have abandoned their self-appointed task of turning those immigrants into the sort of Canadians who will ruin the country, e.g. people like LAS.

  15. Hell of a lot easier to keep ’em out than convert ’em. We have enough unintelligible jabber at the drive through window.

  16. you would prefer to give credence to an unsupported opinion that 1 million immigrants are necessary for economic sustainability.
Immigration is necessary for economic success. Please see Singapore, Hong Kong etc. Immigration restrictions are by far the biggest impediment to economic growth currently.

The current levels are barely manageable in terms of provision of settlement and social services, at least in the major urban centres.
Lies. The rate of immigration has nothing to do with provision of social services. The money gets spent anyway.
I see the nativist neurotics have shown up to warn us all of the FOREIGN INVASION. LOL. No one’s listening to you Chicken Littles. Your insecurities regarding culture and the like are not your fellow citizen’s problem.
Maxime Bernier is the only part of this government worth the time of day. The rest are clowns.

  17. Immigration restrictions are by far the biggest impediment to economic growth currently.
Yeah, lots of growth potential in manning drive through windows and driving cabs. Let’s not forget trucking with two or three to a truck. One with a license.

  18. I must say now, swanning around the suburbs of Toronto eating curry every night sounds like nice work if you can get it.
I’ll say this though, Jason Kenney’s clutching his pearls when he hears a savage let slip that his loyalty is to his own savage tribe rather than the Queen of Canada (for the edification of a mainstream journalist) won’t fool anyone but Jason Kenney. If he licks their backsides thoroughly enough, maybe he’ll get enough of the community leaders to preserve a federal Tory majority in Ottawa. It’ll take more than that to make them into Canadians.
The communities will cheerfully sell their vote in return for tribute, in cash and in kind, just as they got from the Liberals—money to build bomb factories in the old country, and acquiescence to allowing them to take over Canada’s cities. Alberta Muslims rewarded the PCs handsomely at the ballot box for letting them overrun Calgary. What the Tories cannot do is buy their loyalty to Canada or to the Queen. Real loyalty can’t be bought at any price.
Aye, Diefenbaker abolished the racial restrictions on immigration in 1962. The next 50 years saw the English, Scots and Irish Protestants who built the Dominion slowly driven from economic and political power in their own nation, and sent well along the way to exile and extinction. If Jason Kenney is serious about perserving British law and liberty in Canada, he can begin by tabling legislation restoring priority for immigrant visas to subjects of the Queen of Canada, in her capacity as Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Canada never lacked British subjects willing to come here and start new lives, building as they did so everything in the Dominion worth preserving. Trust me, with the Queen’s British ministers determined to force austerity, Islamization and direct rule from Brussels down the throats of the plain people of Britain, there’ll be plenty more where those came from.

  19. FWIW, I can provide a testimonial about Jason. I know him a bit, having worked with him in a minor way, on a non-partisan basis, in respect of an issue of some national significance in the very early days after the merger of the Canadian Alliance and the Progressive Conservative Party, when Jason was a “new” Conservative MP, sitting in Opposition.
The Martin government had made an utterly ham-handed miscalculation around the accreditation of Canadian diplomats, which drew together a group of concerned persons, overwhelmingly from central Canada, but which included Jason, who had an interest in the subject.
Jason, when asked to do so, made it his business to pursue the purposes of the group, in his capacity as an opposition MP. He made it perfectly clear what he could do to help, and he made it equally clear what he could not do. On the basis of his forthrightness in respect of the matter, particularly in comparison with some others whom I thought could have done much more, I am not in the least surprised that he has risen to his current stature — including the consideration he garners among newer Canadians.

  20. Alberta Muslims rewarded the PCs handsomely at the ballot box for letting them overrun Calgary.
Tell me about it. I was there last month and nearly got my hand cut off in a Sharia court for singing. Then I was forced at gunpoint to recant my apostasy of preferring ‘Constantinople’ over ‘Istanbul’. All Burqa’s, everywhere…
Then I woke up and wasn’t dreaming anymore.

  21. Jason Kenney is a smart, hard-working guy with integrity and a major improvement over the bonehrads of the Martin, Chretien and Mulroney cabinets, but best immigration minister evah? It’s a little early for that, and he’s going to have to accomplish a lot more to get to the level of, say, the ministers and policies of the 1950s and most of the 1960s. There are still an incredible number of immgrants arriving — 300,000 a year means 3 million a decade. That level was first set by Brian Mulroney after lobbying by the real estate industry which feared an RE downturn in the early 1990s. Kept by succeeding Liberal administrations, that allowed over 5 million people to enter the country since then with very little quality control.
So, one very important thing Jason has got to do is get the numbers down. We can’t handle this many people arriving. I don’t see much progress on this front. We also need to change the type of immigrants from the unskilled poor and the business-class rich to middle-class skilled workers. Jason has been talking a good game on that and has made some actual improvements, so I’ll give him a point here, but much more is needed. He also needs to quit allowing in temporary workers to fill what would have been highly-paid resource jobs going to Canadians. Hello, HD Mining. This is huge. The Conservatives need to be very very afraid of a public perception of them as plutocrats allergic to ordinary Canadians making good money. Like the kind of perception that sank Mitt Romney’s campaign, capiche?
I realize that Harper and Kenney walk a minefield on this one, with media looking to destroy them for the slightest misstep, and I grant that they’re already a major improvement over the Liberals (hey, remember Judy Sgro and the Romanian strippers?) and Mulroney. But that’s only slowed the progress of the ship nearing the rocks; they have yet to turn the boat around.

  22. We can’t handle this many people arriving.
Not true. We can not only handle more but we would benefit from more.
He also needs to quit allowing in temporary workers to fill what would have been highly-paid resource jobs going to Canadians.
Highly paid = expensive = bad for the economy. Even when I’m druk I have better understanding of economics
You know what Kenney has done? He arbitrarily kept out that Quran-burning pastor guy. So he essentially applied old Section 13 to Canada’s borders. Terrific.

  23. Here’s a question for everybody.
WHY IS EVERY WESTERN COUNTRY ON PLANET EARTH USING IMMIGRATION TO FLOOD THEMSELVES WITH “VISIBLE MINORITY” IMMIGRANTS?
In the case of Canada,77 to 85 PERCENT of ALL immigrants that have come here in the last 40 years, right up until today have been “Visible Minorities”.
I know for a FACT that Canada has DENIED immigration to persons from our “traditional” sources of immigrants.
I know this for a fact because I’ve PERSONALLY heard over 100 times through the years people of British stock tell me about friends and relatives that were DENIED the chance to come to Canada as immigrants.
I was told by these 100 people that it was people with SKILLS that were denied a chance to come to Canada.
Skilled people denied immigration to Canada while criminal scum land here on a daily basis, decade after decade after decade.

  24. I think Jason Kenney is a fairly decent person and means to keep certain elements out of Canada but if a growing minority want Khalistan a state, we have a problem. He would do well to remember that supporters of Khalistan killed 329 people on June 23, 1985.
On a personal note, I find it deplorable that ANY politician (in this case, Jason Kenney) assume affectations of an immigrant group’s beliefs just for votes. If he believes, that’s fine. If he doesn’t, he is being dishonest to himself, his beliefs, his potential voters’ beliefs and other electorates. It’s a poser attitude and I don’t care for it. Also, ANY Korean immigrant voting for big government here should ask themselves how the NDP or Liberals would fare in South Korea. Needless to say, there would be a lot of horse whipping going on. Why they think it would work in Canada baffles me. I would also like to know if there are any Canadians voting for a politician, not just segregated groups living in Canada. If Canada is such a wonderful place, then there is no need to hyphenate one’s nationality or use Canada as a crashpad. The country is too important for so vulgar a purpose. It is for all people who wish to be Canadian.
LAS, are you still playing the “raaaaacist” card? Tiresome.

  25. The Liberals had terrible immigration ministers. Someone mentioned Judy Sgro and Strippergate, also Denis Coderre. That fat bellowing frenchman who always looked angry. Man was he a terrible minister.
    Kenney is doing everything right.
As for the numbers…It is about 250,000 immigrants a year. The highest number as sited in the article was 280,000 in 2010, but it’s back down from there.
Fact is, Canadians chose to limit their kids in the 1970’s. Mass abortion and debt fuelled materialism was chosen over family, so unless we want a collapsing country we need to let in a lot of immigrants. Most interactions I have with immigrants are fine. They are happy to be here and ready to work. In a big empty country like Canada this should be applauded. The fact that most of them aren’t white anymore doesn’t bother me. Would you really want hordes of NDP voting white Europeans coming over here anyway?
As for Kenney, he probably is first in line to replace Harper after the next election (fight against MacKay?) the main problem is he may be gay. Not sure the so-cons in the party would be ready for a gay PM and the so-cons are needed for a majority.

  26. Kenny is a self loathing homosexual who happens to have a special hatred for gypsies. What has he done that is head and shoulders above what other immigration ministers done over the past 40 years? In the big scheme of things, he is just another Göring.

  27. Osumashi Kinyobe >
Of course people like LAS play the race card; this is the same guy who defend paedophilia and Islamic terrorism.
Yea, how’s that awesome third world immigration working out for France, Greece and Spain these days?
Some people around here need to give their head a shake for arguing with SDA’s own self admitted drug abusing loser.

  28. Well, you might be right, but you also might consider some data:
    1. Immigration to Canada in 2011 was 248,748 persons, or about 20,000 persons per month, on average (this is a gross figure, not net of emigration. I’m assuming that this includes dependent persons, as well as persons who came here to work. I’ll take it as read that this has been about the level of immigration to Canada over the past decade or so).
    2. Prior to the 2007-2009 recession, employment peaked in Canada at 17.175 million in October, 2008 (value “a”), whereupon it declined to 16.758 million in July, 2009 (the last month employment declined). It has since recovered to 17.666 million in December, 2012 (value “b”). Subtracting “a” from “b”, net employment rose in the 51 months between October 2008 and December 2012 by 491,000, or about 9,600 persons per month, on average. That appears to me to be the medium-term history of employment growth in Canada.
So, supposing the economic illiterate Jason Kenny decided to follow your advice and ratchet up immigration by as much as 4 times (to about 1 million per year), or about 85,000 per month.
    So we:
    1. Allow a whole bunch more people in who would have virtually no chance of gaining employment, at least in the medium-term, according to recent historical standards.
    2. ????????
    3. We bask in the glow of massive new economic growth, due to record immigration levels, that makes Jason Kenny look like an economic genius.
    and we:
    1. Allow a whole bunch more people in who would have virtually no chance of gaining employment, at least in the medium-term, according to recent historical standards.
    2. ????????
    3. Not only would the provincially-controlled welfare systems not collapse, but the Liberal government in Ontario would be able to bask in the glow of budget surpluses, an unprecedented turn of events considering it’s current financial predicament.
Can you help me with any that, please?

  29. Camel’s nose in the tent
One cold night, as an Arab sat in his tent, a camel gently thrust his nose under the flap and looked in. “Master,” he said, “Let me put my nose in your tent. It’s cold and stormy out here.” “By all means,” said the Arab, “and welcome” as he turned over and went to sleep.
A little later the Arab awoke to find that the camel had not only put his nose in the tent but his head and neck also. The camel, who had been turning his head from side to side, said, “I will take but little more room if I place my forelegs within the tent. It is difficult standing out here.” “Yes, you may put your forelegs within,” said the Arab, moving a little to make room, for the tent was small.
Finally, the camel said, “May I not stand wholly inside? I keep the tent open by standing as I do.” “Yes, yes,” said the Arab. “Come wholly inside. Perhaps it will be better for both of us.” So the camel crowded in. The Arab with difficulty in the crowded quarters again went to sleep. When he woke up the next time, he was outside in the cold and the camel had the tent to himself.

  30. Immigration creates jobs Southam. It does this by filling gaps in the labor force and stabilizing/lowering unit labor costs. Mass immigration is one of the reasons Singapore does so well. The labor force is not homogeneous.

  31. LAS >
“Mass immigration is one of the reasons Singapore does so well. The labor force is not homogeneous.”
    Bull.
At least you had the sense to try and hide your tracks with “…one of the reasons”.
Singapore is a multicultural mess that came out of the race wars in the mid ‘60’s. Today it’s harmony is derived from its police state status as a “Fine City” as they like to call it. A government controlled concrete jungle of regulations, police uniformed & undercover, along with massive surveillance and heavy criminal penalties.
The race based culture of Singapore is Chinese dominant, Malaysian second class and Sub Continent Indian at the bottom. The Western Expats get a status pass if they have money, and any Third World’ers are the maids and gardeners.
If Third World immigration and Socialist idealism like Singapore worked so great California wouldn’t be failing, neither would the European countries especially around the Mediterranean.
LAS – you really don’t have a fr*ggen clue about much. You obviously aren’t the little sh*t that got caught spray painting cars a few years ago in Singapore, Ha ha that little prick got caned and deported. Of course when an average car can cost over $100K due to absurd government licensing a little vandalism becomes a bigger deal even for the “Libertarians”. LOL
