Things You’ll Never Hear on the CBC

Toronto’s civic politics seems to be sabotaged at every turn by left-wing “activists” who have perfected the act of pouting better than a 3-year old whose mother took away his lollipop. Roy Green discusses the dysfunctional situation with Toronto City Councillors Doug Ford and Doug Holyday.

  1. Delighted to hear the rest of the council is ‘ultra vires’…
Never did understand how one could have a pecuniary interest in money you are giving away to charity?
    Go big bad Rob Ford!
I once had a police officer ask me jokingly what is the best thing about Toronto?
A: Seeing it in your rear view mirror.
My apologies to the good Trawna residents who don’t buy into the elite leftocracy. It appears the leftocracy are now nursing their legal wounds after having being beaten with the ‘ultra vires’ brickbats.
    Cheers

  2. Mayor Ford said he was humbled by the number of good wishes and support from regular people he would meet on the street, at gas stations, restaurants etc.
The media reported ‘a humbled Mayor Ford’ – as though he was given a spanking by the Court, which is simply not the case. Jerks.
The next story was a big wet goodbye kiss to their Dolton McGuinty. Media. Destructive Jerks.

  3. Don’t Madger and Ruby know how to crack a smile? Sour looking pair. Looks like they just got a spanking with their pants pulled down.

  4. Christie Blatchford is a breath of fresh air in the foul journalistic arena. We need more like her.

  5. So by Ruby’s argument, the Toronto city council could vote that Rob Ford must by all of them lunch every day, any attempt by Ford to argue against it must be a conflict of interest.

  6. I love this bit.
“The mayor was clearly aware that the punditry and fellow councillors were clamouring for him to show humility and “reach out” so that “we can all move forward,” and all the usual blather (see “nurturing city” above, in No. 7).”
Ah I see. So now after having their heads handed to them by a unanimous court decision the pink filth wants to play nice. What a bunch of pustulent, putrescent dirtbags.
After having their asses kicked up between their ears, the lefist scum wants humility? After illegal behaviour and an ethics commissioner who, contrary to the law, acted in partisan fashion, the leftist scum want Ford to “reach out?”
I agree that the Left should “move forward”. Right off the end of the Leslie Street spit.

  7. Aye, so she did. That sound you hear is Tim Hudak and Mayor Ford laughing themselves silly. Kennedy could only have done more to undo the Ontario Liberal Party if he’d laced the punchbowls with cyanide.
While Wynne is leader no Ontario voter who works for a living, believes in God and takes His law seriously will vote Liberal if he has any choice. Even the Muslims will flee to the NDP.
Give thanks to the Lord for He is good, and pray that He deliver us from the Ontario Liberals—and quickly.
Long live Rob Ford, and long live Tim Hudak, the next first minister of the Queen of Ontario.

  8. A real losing streak for WK – Theresa Spence is a hero, Rob Ford will lose his appeal, Sandra P will lead the OLP. I wonder who his SuperBowl pick is? Could be some money to be made betting the opposite.

  9. The good news doesn’t stop here of course. The first casualty should be Toronto Integrity Commissioner Janet Leiper. After a court decision that she behaved in partisan fashion, thus violating her oath of office, how can she stay? The Integrity Commissioner has now shown us how little integrity she has.
As for the next Toronto municipal election, the left has just blown off both their kneecaps. Ford had handed to him on a platter the perfect campaign position. “Vote for those guys and you’re voting against funding for little league sports.” So when it comes to polling time, well, Ford already thrashed the champion of the faggot and sushi set George Smitherman. So who’s left on the Left who isn’t already tainted by this fiasco?
And the most satisfying part of all this is that TorStar John Honderich will be drinking this pail full of bile for years to come with every daily he has to put out and every election loss his pinko friends in the Annex have to endure.

  10. I would never endorse CBC in fact I encourage folks not to listen to them or their sponsors. I do however give credit to the CBC for their timeline event and coverage of the Toronto 18 terror plot. They done an excellent job covering all the facts about the attempted murderous rampage using explosives, but at the same time they made sure that they still support the current immigration program and how immigration is a wonderful thing for Canada. Even when the immigrants are terrorists. 99.999999% of Canadians either don’t know a thing about the Toronto 18 thing or have forgotten. The rest of Canadians just don’t care.

  11. I agree the big smoke has its best days behind it where responsible government is concerned, but Toronto isn’t alone in the political, economic and social degeneration that results from lefty gatekeepers running municipal politics. It is a level of government most people do not pay attention to and that public apathy combined with the virtually unrestrained power over property, vital infrastructure and development has attracted the klepto-left to municipal bureucracy like moths to a bug light.
If you stand back a bit for a larger perspective, you will see that ALL of Canada’s major cities, and most of its populated urban regions, are under the thumb of control freak left and wacky left councils/mayors. It isn’t coincidence – re read Agenda 21. This UN blueprint makes it clear the global socialist utopia begins by controlling the local level political institutions. Lefty has been massing in urban bureaucracy to carry this UN prophesy forward. It is the local city/county level where land taxing, land use regulating and end user natural resource taxing/regulating occurs. City council is where bureaucratic control of vital public infrastructure resides. Property rights (and civil liberty) in this nation have been eroded at the city level at an alarming rate for the past 20 years. Vital resources like drinking water and electricity costs have skyrocketed under hidden sustainability fees and taxing at the city level. Property use regulating has virtually obliterated any personal control over one’s private property and public property has been left to the weeds in sustainabity excuses for quashing development. No, it isn’t coincidence. Sit in on a Federation of Canadian Municipalities confab sometime – all you hear is this global socialist sustainablity baffle gab and other lefty hobby horses being flogged. http://www.fcm.ca/home.htm
Toronto broke this political trend/monopoly and the collective left have savagely attacked Ford for it since day 1. I’m glad he won his right to be mayor, but the crap Ford has gone through was also meant to dissuade and other right of center mayoral/councillor wannabes from seeking office in what the left consider to be their monopoly on local politics.

  12. I’m just enjoying watching all the Lefty heads explode. Its like a good fireworks show, but longer.
Every morning you wake up and realize that a bunch of Toronto Lefties are having stomach pain today from frustration/hate-overload. And you smile. 🙂
    Confusion to the enemy!

  13. this whole farce about mayor Ford’s supposed crime just shows the depths that the leftoids will go to. No scheme or lie too low to use to get their own way!!!!

  14. Well said, Occam. This is exactly what I’ve been observing, even on my local level. The leftist plotters, who SAY they are conservative, but all evidence would dispute that, tried to take out our sensible mayor and fortunately failed, but the plan is being incrementally installed on other fronts. Change.org is involved.

  15. Excellent comments, Occam. You have clearly gotten to the heart of the problem. Ford’s victory is only one tiny success in the titanic battle that will be required to take back our lives, cities and countries from the threat posed by the left, the greens, the UN and its minions. We’ve been asleep and while we were they have taken over much of our world.
