Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

What They Say About SDA
"Smalldeadanimals doesn't speak for the people of Saskatchewan" - Former Sask Premier Lorne Calvert
"I got so much traffic after your post my web host asked me to buy a larger traffic allowance." - Dr.Ross McKitrick
Holy hell, woman. When you send someone traffic, you send someone TRAFFIC.My hosting provider thought I was being DDoSed. - Sean McCormick
"The New York Times link to me yesterday [...] generated one-fifth of the traffic I normally get from a link from Small Dead Animals." - Kathy Shaidle
"You may be a nasty right winger, but you're not nasty all the time!" - Warren Kinsella
"Go back to collecting your welfare livelihood." - Michael E. Zilkowsky
Toronto enacted a procedure a number of years ago very similar. I believe it was to charge elderly walkers (paying for a walking assisted program) as they walked through High Park. As it was a commercial venture using public (city) property the vampire leeches wanted their tithe.
Even if it was from the elderly.
“Forget it, Jake – it’s Santa Moronica.”
If it moves, tax it. If it stops moving… tax it.
Prediction, California will be the starting point of the coming tax rebellion in the USA.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the progressive leftwing loons regulated butt movement. I can picture the progressive pervs out there in the public parks holding the butts of strangers.
What they really should ban is Lulu Lemon pants on women with over-sized rear ends. Yuk.
Yuck, not Yuk. Sorry.
Who exactly is that park for then?
But why US? Here in Canada cities ‘close’ their parks at 11pm. If you decided to go for a walk at 11:01 you would be committing a trespassing offense.
Does anything in Canada ever bother Kate?
I don’t know, one could make a reductio ad absurdum argument. If there’s only a few people doing this who already have an indoor facility, who cares. But if entire parks are used by people “taking classes” at the expense of everyone else – and dodging taxes, it’s kinda like the whole food trucks vs restaurants issue. It all depends, can’t judge from one video….
It seems a lifetime ago that I was a Canada hater….
When I read stories like this, I often wonder if the fact that the Norks, and their nukes reaching the west coast is a bad thing?
OT (somewhat)
It was a major headline on Rush’s and Hannity’s radio shows yesterday that Phil Mickelson had to do a mea culpa regarding his comment that he was going to move from Cali to Florida because the taxes are too high. It appears he has received enough pressure (likly from his agent) to retract his statement because of what would likely be the unintended consequences.
That said, Hannity was giving a shout-out to Tiger Woods for coming to Phil’s defense, as he was asked what he thought of Phil’s comment, and he responded “that’s why I moved out of California years ago, so I think I understand what Phil was saying”.
Kudos to Tiger for standing-up for Phil, Californians, and all others that are getting bent-over by the government.
When Simon Phoenix was asked by Governor Cocteau in Demolition Man what he wants, he started with Malibu, Santa Monica and then the rest of the Westside. I propose that we give it to Phoenix.

Uhhh 454, just don’t mention the Canadian Wheat Board.
The trainers using the park have an unfair competitive advantage over trainers who have an indoor gym/studio.
…and ban businesses from moving to lower tax regimes.
The rest of your ‘fairness’ doctrine.
You can’t poop in Santa Monica without running afoul of local environmental regulation, the sign in the hotel bathroom said they have environmentally-friendly low-flow toilets: so please flush TWICE so their pipes don’t get clogged!
Managing has been completed decades ago, so what is a poor civil servant to do, other than micro manage. Every elected or empowered bureaucrat has to leave a legacy he/she can call their own. You know,…the “I DID THAT” syndrome. Common sense has nothing to do with it. Bloomberg in New York is a shining example of that mentality. He would do well in California as anything with sanity attached moved out long ago.
But “Occupy” tents full of drugged filthy freaks twenty for seven for weeks.; that’s OK.
and speaking of exercise….remember when,I think in Morontario, they banned tag, swingsisoccer, baseball, etc from school grounds? Now….is anybody else getting sick and tired at the number of “participaction” ads, both on the boob tube and in the MSM? Soooooooo…..1st the a&^holes ban exercise, then tell us the kiddies(it is for the children!)need at least an hour a day of exercise. And just where are they suppoased to get this? Hypocritical numbnuts.
Justthinkin @ 2:43 a. m.:
Good point. It’s just more cognitive dissonance (i. e. hypocrisy) from the left. They’re always trying to see how much of it they can get away with. Our task (which we have to accept) is not to let them get away with any of it.
