  1. It always amazes me how little the general population actually knows about what is actually going on.
My B-I-L thinks that “assault weapons” should be banned while he has the ultimate in “sniper rifles” in his inventory of “hunting rifles” along with a semi-automatic shotgun.

  2. Most, but not all, reporters in America have traded in their integrity for an Obama Amour card. However, there are a few good ones left. CBS’s Sharyl Attkisson is one of them.
Unfortunately, I suspect it doesn’t matter, as I believe the truth of Benghazi will be BURIED for at least the next few decades.

  3. Germany, after it closed about 50% of its nuclear plant capacity, is rapidly building out CO2-emitting coal and gas plants to offset the loss of the CO2-free nuclear energy, and rapidly building out renewable energy facilities; some RE, such as biomass, is not CO2-free.
At the end of 2012, Germany had about 31,000 MW of IWTs producing about 7.3% of its total generation and 32,800 MW of PV solar systems producing about 4.6% of its total generation.
Transmission systems and balancing plant capacity to support these rapid build-outs were not built in time to prevent frequent grid instabilities that adversely affect industrial production.
As a result of the existing RE build-outs, Germany has the 2nd highest household electric rates in Europe, about 24.06 eurocent/kWh, including taxes, fees, surcharges, etc; Denmark has the highest at about 25.62 eurocent/kWh; France has one of the lowest.

  7. EBD, as you well know, I am not a kook, but —
I’m going to vote plausible. It actually makes sense on one level: changing the top officers is a tacit admission that the ranks would not fire on Americans, about which I recently came to the conclusion they would not (small volunteer forces, etc., with, you know, families and roots in the communities from whence they came, and a long record now — ten or more consecutive years — of serving others around the world, and proud of it). That you would have to ask that question of your top people is very telling about your expectations of the loyalty of the group, IMO. In any event, even if the chain of command was totally united, and all ranks were willing to engage in a conventional fight against the general population, it’s not clear to me that government forces could actually win such a contest.
It is clear, however, that this is not 1860 (who knew?) — those states that contributed forces to preserve the Union then, given the cultural rot that has set in, would not be able to muster such forces today. The overwhelming majority of Americans would not fight again to preserve the Union, IMO.
Changing the top officers, I’d say, is about ensuring the willingness of an even smaller subset of the military to carry out extra-ordinary measures against elements of the general population on a localized basis, at the behest of the highest levels of the command structure (not the use of WMD against the population, which I’m certain would not happen, but rather some kind of Weapon(s) of Mass Temporary Subdual — WMTS, if you like). I have no idea if such things exist, but, theoretically, something that could be applied “to make people sleep on their decisions”, while limited loyal forces move in to confiscate weapons, etc. — one or two such operations might have a strong deterrent effect on other localities.
Could it or would it work? The track record of this sort of thing — from Waco to Anbar to Fast and Furious — is not at all persuasive. But I always wonder about the Ayerses and Alinskys we’re dealing with.

Another nail in the U.S. of A.’s coffin: Military men will die defending their female colleagues and the bad guys will get in because the focus of the military will swivel to “equal rights” and all of the sexual assault cases brought by female combatants against their male counterparts. Obama’s on a rampage with seemingly no one to stop him.
    Kyrie eleison.
We’re watching a bloody train wreck in the U.S.. It’s surreal.
