The Manti Te’o hoax;
So in all the months of inspirational stories of touching humanity no sports journalist did any real journalism to contact the family/ friends/ acquaintances of the girlfriend? No classmates at Stanford?

I gotta come clean. When this story broke was the first time I’d ever heard of Manti T’eo. (An indication of how much I follow the lazy MSM, I suppose.) And now I’ll do my best to forget I’ve ever heard of him.
As to the story’s reflection on the MSM – not a huge surprise, really.
It’s hard to tell whose story is more inspiring.. Lance’s or Manti’s.
That is, if your inspiration is to be a lying, cheating SOB.
Imagine now if he had been a white evangelical with that story. When they tried to interview the supposed girlfriends parents and friends to find out if she had ever had an abortion they would have discovered the hoax.
Just who the hell is this T’eo schmuck and why should I care?
And the player, Manatee or whatever, claims he is also a victim of the hoax. Does he expect us to believe he never read any of the numerous media stories about he and his afflicted girl friend? And having read them, wouldn’t “a victim” be motivated to point out the hoax? Sorry, Manatee, you are just another sports hero with feet of clay.
He is a great college player and was Mock drafted recently to the Buffalo Bills; first round #8 overall.
Kid had a future that involved millions $$$$, think the new Brian Urlacher.
I like how the MSM doubled down on dumb by accepting Manti is the victim, here.
How could that be possible?
I think the awards like the Heisman and the Butkus, take into consideration character and adversity so this could have been a story that just got absurd between some of his friends ( Animal House, Fawn Lebowitz) after his Gramma died and some reporter picked it up as the real deal and ran with it.
I don’t see how he couldn’t have been complicit in it later however.
Now, given his new disgraced cred., he’ll make the Bengals (Who Dat) that much better of a football team on field and that much worse off.
The kid’s still going to make millions playing a game so no need for tears.
Another media created phenomena. So classic. First they play up this guys fake story and now they play up the fact it was fake. But they’ll never admit they’re completely culpable and stupid because that’s too close to the truth.
The evidence is overwhelming – If you rely upon and trust the MSM to deliver you an accurate picture of current events, you will be as confused and blind as a bag of wet squirrels.

But But … If the “journalists” had actually comitted journalism here they wouldn”t have had a cool friend named Teo Manatee.
Undoubtedly the hoax was perpetrated to demonstrate how Te’o, a devout mormon, could be aided by the “true” faith and how he could be an example to the apostate Catholics. Not much of a surprise that a religion based upon one of the most succesful frauds in history is more than a little complicit in this hoax.
MSM can only do one investigation every four years. That was Sarah Palin and then Herman Cain. Stories like this, Jonathan Edwards, Obama, Elizabeth Warren and Benghazi are too difficult.
