Yeah well – interesting, but in fact the night belonged to OZ, when Australian forces were involved, because of their will and skill. They were effective jungle fighters – and often ambushed the VC rather than the other way around. Had the US Army been less arrogant, they could have learned much to their advantage.

On an unrelated note, here at the great CN Rail protest, we have just learned that the indians are now planning to have a nation-wide blockade of all bridges entering/exiting the US. This may be a blessing in disguise. As approx. $1 Billion in trade crosses these bridges daily, The Feds will be compelled to get this problem solved for reasons of national security and fiscal stability.
First nations Chief Shawn Atleo Might well advise the shit disturbers in Sarnia Ontario, to look to putting their resources to Building a Medical Clinic for profit and stop selling homemade contraband cigarettes from their pick-up trucks on their reserves.
They would gain instant recognition from the public at large, and become a bonus to the community at large, rather than a pain in the collective ass, which they now represent by protesting.

I would be interested to know how much of the institutional rigidity you attribute to the Army was actually an inescapable consequence of the Johnson Admin., not the US Army, conducting the war in all important respects. The vanity of Johnson and the blindness of McNamara made them the top theater commanders, rather than professional military men.
Certainly,the Army’s innovations in Vietnam – the use of Special Forces – the ” Green Berets “, nighttime extraction, re-supply, and, yes, assaults in Vietnam demonstrated the Army’s recognition that Vietnam was part of the continuum of all other fields of battle, meaning it required adaptation and modification of forces deployed there, as had every campaign from Korea back to the War of Independence.
Boy, Hillary Clinton does NOT want to testify about Benghazi. Now, she’s apparently in hospital.
First, she refused to do the red herring lie of the video; they had to send Rice out to do it rather than Hillary.
Then, she said she couldn’t testify until the Report came out; the GOP said they’d be interested in hearing her right away even before the Report. Gosh, then Hillary, ah, fainted, and had a concussion.
Then, the Report came out, quite critical. Then, the GOP said, they won’t affirm Kerry into office until Hillary testifies.
So now, she’s gone into hospital. Hmm. And yet again, hmm.
I bet three chocolate bars that she never, ever, testifies.
