Oh the Deadwood Stage is a-headin’ on over the hills where the Injun arrows are thicker than porcupine quills. Dangerous land, no time to delay, so whip crack-away, whip crack-away, Whip-Crack Away.

Doris Day sporting a Winchester is like Clint Eastwood wearing a pink cowboy hat!

  2. Syncro, I’m going to let Charles Adler know about that web page. I’m thinking that Lorrie Goldstein or Christopher Monckton might have a slightly different take on it.
P.S. Did you see the photo of the 4 folks on the “Community Team”? One word came to mind: The HR Dept. at the CBC making the hiring decisions are RACISTS!!! LOL

  3. Good idea Robert…Uncle Chuck could have some fun with that. I had to go back to check out the “Community Team”, did not notice that. Racist bastards…*snort*

  4. Wow. So the US being mealy mouthed is all part of a clever plan to avoid giving the North Koreans too much press. How clever Obama is!

  5. Liberal insults of the Season can be ‘taken for granted’.
Liberals at this time of year tell the rest of us that we take this or that for granted since poor or mentally ill people don’t have what the rest of us do – they accuse all of us of this behaviour but it’s only frickin’ liberals in the first place who are entitled to their entitlements and take a comfortable lifestyle for granted! Especially the brats of liberals!
I bust my ass, get stressed out to the max – and that provides for a bit of ‘middle class'(?) comfort – true. But I don’t frickin’ take it for granted! A$$holes.

  7. Okay. Somebody explain to me why this should not lead to the totally overdue destruction of the rotten old BBC. Because don’t kid yourself, tonnes of people knew. (And believe me, as weird as it seems, this guy was a huge star in Britain; I guess ’cause the BBC had a stranglehold on broadcasting so short of reading a book your options were Jim’ll Fix It or staring out the window.)

  8. National Post, Wednesday, Dec. 12. Barbara Kay takes on Quebec’s indoctrination school course again (no one to my knowledge is doing more to keep this issue in the public eye):
    http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2012/12/12/barbara-kay-quebecs-totalitarian-take-on-religious-education-in-high-school/
“Loyola sought an institutional exemption, arguing that the school taught the same substantive knowledge as ERC in their MWR course. The ministry denied the request. Loyola pursued a legal challenge on Charter grounds of religious freedom. At trial, the Quebec attorney general contended that the Charter applies to individuals; religious corporations, such as a Jesuit school, he argued, are not entitled to freedom of religion.”
Here again we see a mindless attempt to destroy Charter rights. It’s like Wicked Bertha Wilson making the preposterous claim that “freedom of association does not include the right not to associate” – in a horrendous Supreme Court decision.
An institution (of which a corporation is one example) is comprised of a number of individuals working together, exercising their right to freedom of association. All those individuals retain their individual right to freedom of religion while working together in an institutional setting.
Quebec’s position would deny the Roman Catholic church its freedom of religion, and could give the state the power to dictate doctrine.

  9. Well Mamba I’ll try… The BBC has been revered as the gold standard of sophisticated commentary for some time now. By sophisticated,I mean progressive left. Sexual orientation/proclivities being one touchstone of the left…well, a nod is as good as a wink. This is the natural outcome.

  10. “…I’m openly hostile, vocally, to all the leftist canards and nostrums that get floated by me.”
“The well-behaved opposition is only the meek one who simply stands there and takes it.”
“Yes, the mad antics of the left have inspired a change in my behavior, at least. No, I’m not running around doing street actions or statehouse occupations, like the OWS crowd, the union thugs, and such brownshirts. But I’m openly hostile, vocally, to all the leftist canards and nostrums that get floated by me. Formerly, I’d not want to be impolite, not want to get into an argument, etc. But now I give pushback to all this stuff. It has caused some consternation and alarm among my leftist friends and family. One of them came to me expressing great concern that I might actually be poisoning my very soul with this new negativity. It never fails to amaze me how such things as comity and bartisanship are always a one way street with leftists. The well-behaved opposition is only the meek one who simply stands there and takes it.
In truth, the left has been the aggressor on every cultural, political and economic front in my whole life. Those guys running around the streets of Michigan literally calling for blood and civil war, those weren’t my guys. There does exist a political philosophy premised on class struggle, on cultural warfare and social revolution. It ain’t me, babe.”

  11. nv53, yes, I agree and that’s the reason why the US Supreme Court defined institutions or corporations as, with regard to freedom of expression, ‘individuals’.
Revnant Dream, and furthermore, Obama has no business interfering in a State issue.

  12. “The Socialist Heart Of France Spits Out Its First Victim”
“A new report released by Insee details the inexorable rise of official poverty in France. By the end of 2010, it engulfed 8.6 million people, 5.4% more than in 2009, and 16.7% more than in 2004. The poverty rate jumped to 14.1%, the highest since 1997. For children (under 18), the poverty rate hit 19.6%, for young adults (18 to 25 years old), it was a grizzly 22.5%!
More extreme forms of poverty increased rapidly. Poverty was defined as earning less than 60% of the median income in 2010. But those earning less than 50% of the median income rose to 4.755 million people, 22% more than in 2004.
The report noted that “the standard of living has been sliding or stagnating for practically all categories of the population except the wealthiest.” Overall, it dropped 0.5% in constant euros in 2010. But for the lower 30%, it dropped between 1.3% and 1.6%, while it increased 1.3% for the top 5%. “Most of the indicators show a progression of inequalities,” the report underlines dryly.
    Blame the current unemployment fiasco?”

  13. Gord Tulk, but ‘the mark’ will be positive for Justin. The left, after all, is pro Hamas and pro Islam and anti-western and anti-Israel. And anti-Harper’s government.

“Obama Doubled Down on Rice–and Lost”
“Rice’s decision to quit the nomination process is also a victory for conservative media, notably Breitbart News and the Fox News Channel, which continue to pursue the Benghazi scandal with the seriousness it deserves. For all the talk of a “right-wing media bubble,” it is the liberal mainstream media, which refused to cover the Benghazi scandal and dismissed concerns about Rice’s role in it, which remained at a far remove from reality. Those issues are serious enough for Rice to have backed down–and her departure will not let Obama off the hook.”

  19. ET @ 9:26 a.m.: “the US Supreme Court defined institutions or corporations as, with regard to freedom of expression, ‘individuals'”
That’s interesting, and the wording is important.
It’s pretty clear that corporations are not “individuals”, in the full sense of the word. But (as we agree) some of the rights of the persons who comprise them are retained in that context. Freedom of expression is obviously one that is retained. Therefore “corporations” have freedom of expression, if you like.
It occurred to me as soon as I read your post that perhaps the strident opposition to this notion of “corporations as persons” is really an attempt to eliminate the rights of the workers who comprise the corporation. That way, the right of a corporation to run its business would be severely compromised.
