Should it come to pass that we must make a choice between food or fuel, it should be noted that there are now enough self-identified “greens” in existence to sustain the remaining human population until the fuel problem has been rectified.
So, turn up the thermostat, and pass the salt.

This is so lefty, let the poor freeze in the dark so they can prove how smart they are. When the left rules the poor are the first to do without. In time the middle class and the rich will fall to high taxes.
It is criminal to burn food in cars. It increases the price of fuel and food.
Soylent Green is retards!
This is what happens when environmentalists are at the policy table. Failure, utterly and complete. This is totally unnecessary.
Well at least they have choices, choices millions were denied in Africa that died from malaria, another failed environmentalist policy.
Robert in Ottawa; what exactly should we do about the situation. Right now Canada is bursting at the waistline with food supplies. Not too many citizens in southern Ontario seem concerned about urban sprawl. Your enlighened son, Dalton, seems to think it is wonderful to divert the best cropland in Canada into sites for wind turbines. Then we get the worst of all scenerios; power which we often pay the Americans to take off our hands from areas where acres of farmland has been taken out of food production. At least with ethanol production the land remains ready to produce subsequent crops. If the onerous regulations were relaxed or eliminated enough carbon based fuel would be refined that we would no need to use corn or other plant based substances to produce fuel.
But be sure to wash them thoroughly before eating. Remember, they are organic, and you won’t know where they’ve been.
Last year, thy were burning library books to keep warm . . The lost book fine was less than the price of fuel.
Now skipping meals to stay warm.
Sad axe of chugging the Greenie Kool Aide in British Politics and the resulting public policies that harm citizens.
We hope for a swift implementation of this policy.
If it had been anywhere close to a normal growing season, instead of a drought, in the U.S. Heartland we would be looking at 3$ a bushel corn.
With all grain(s) becoming very expensive through the summer the livestock, poultry and dairy sectors asked the EPA for a one year waiver on ethanol production to ease feed costs and direct corn in particular towards meat/dairy production instead of for fuel.
The EPA decided recently (late Novemeber) that ethanol production took precedent over food production.
About all that reveals is that the corn lobby is stronger than the livestock sector.
To further keep the ethanol scam going, with reduced corn supplies, the U.S. became a net IMPORTER of corn during this past summer.
If this winter in the UK is anything like it is predicted then the effect will be dramatic. The greens will have a hard time preventing the expansion of fracking. The demand for cheaper energy will echo through the chambers of parliament like an arctic blizzard. No longer will the cry be.. save the planet, it will be save us from the greens.
Note the Guardian article is occompanied with a bodyguard of lies….the links to AGW articles.
It declares the early exploratory fracking “was found to be the cause” of 2 minor earthquakes at Blackpool…..savages reading omens….
These earthquakes are a common feature in the northern hemisphere….it’s called isostatic rebound….the land raising because of the removal of the pre-holocene Icesheet.
This is like styling “Hurricane” Sandy a Hurricane when it was really just a tropical storm…..a common 1-2 times a century event…if not more common and frequent.
Balderdash….
Depending on the facility making the ethanol, you may be using more energy to ferment and distill the corn than you get out at the end. Even the best efficiency new facilities are close to break even for natural gas btu’s in versus ethanol btu’s out. Boiling water takes a lot of natural gas. Even the people running the places will admit to that. It’s only the subsidy that keeps it going.
The Russian company Gazprom is behind the anti-fracking hysteria that is spreading globally because the greens are swallowing the fracking-bad-kool-aid hook, line and sinker.
The sad thing about this is it is a symptom of living in an age where paranoid neurosis has infected the governing class – and it’s all so unnecessary. There is no more a fuel shortage now, or in the future, than there is a global climate crisis. The fuel sustainability rationing) paranoia is enriching energy middlemen who trade it as a false supply commodity and crass politicians who tax it as if it were on ration.
Personally I think pillage of the public is at a stage where pitch forks ropes torches and boiling tar are called for.

“Personally I think pillage of the public is at a stage where pitch forks ropes torches and boiling tar are called for.”
Yeah and I suspect the greenies have the same sentiment….and wisely fear that they will be the ones hanging from the lamposts….the same elements have a death grip on media and pursue anti-gun agendas for good and proper reason.
The greenies regard truth and an armed citizenry as a clear and present danger….and are desperate and ruthless.
The wise elements, of the greenies, have taken the object lesson of Romania to heart….and know the backlash will be swift, unanticipated…and final.
‘energy giants’ are the problem! it says so in the first paragraph!
Feel sorry for the politicians though, they’re having a hard time convincing the public that they’re on the public’s side in the battle to curb the power of the energy giants.
The public sound like a bunch of ingrates! After all the political class does for them! The Guardian should thoroughly admonish them!
“A new poll of 2,000 people by Onepoll for Ovo Energy reveals that over a third of homes are rationing power. The energy company claims inflation-busting rises of up to 12% have left 70% of British homes forced to limit their power consumption. There are concerns more families are at an increased risk of becoming ill as a result of switching off their heating.”
What that poll reveals is the exact stated result the global warming alarmists were hoping to achieve. So far, in England everything is going according to plan. So far…….
Right about now a lot of Brits are being converted from AGW believers into deniers. Most politicians aren’t dumb enough to actually take serious action to “save the planet” from global warming because they know the people would suffer as a result and would turf them out, at the very least.
A gourmet friend of mine suggests marinating cuts of greenie in olive oil with lots of rosemary to get rid of the bitter taste.
One cold winter is all it will take for this Greenie fuel scam to collapse. When people start raiding government offices for furniture to burn, cracking will miraculously become the safest thing on earth and greenies will mysteriously vanish from the BBC.
Btw if you slice them thin and tenderize with a mallet you can get rid of the stringy, tough texture and make a fairly palatable schnitzel. The tenderizing part is pretty fun, too. 🙂
Not all that long ago the people were told this :

Gia certainly has a sense of humor.
The real stupidity can be found in the numbers.
Power Source
Total U.S. Subsidy
(millions)
Coal $1,358
Oil and gas $2,820
Nuclear $2,499
Biomass / biofuels $7,761
Geothermal $273
Hydro $216
Solar $1,134
Wind $4,980
Look at the biofuels.

Maybe we can go back to eating our corn and find a way to run our cars on environmentalists.
you can’t eat Greenies. After you clean the sh*t out of them, there’s nothing left. Tough to clean, too – like worms – no backbone either.
What the greeies realy want is most of the popualtion to die. Than England can get bacxk to the 18th century where most of the Countryside was wilderness for hunting preserves for the aristocrates. Only this time it will be themrunning the show.
“Soylent is green people!”
