  1. Obama’s only mandate was to save Big Bird, and includes other puppets too presumably, like Elmo.
And now Elmo’s accuser conveniently recants his story and says he was an adult at the time. Obama da man!

  2. Dear Santa,
Do you have a kit that makes their little heads explode? Kate would probably enjoy another week in Europe for Christmas, and if the left keeps up she’ll be ready for a break by then.

  3. If anyone wants to know why I am not a 9/11 truther, it’s because the Director of the CIA is an idiot.
And Petraeus is competent compared to most high level bureaucrats.

  4. Voter fraud in the US?
“But why do we have all this voter fraud? The answer is the National Voting Rights Act of 1993, also known as the Motor Voter law.”
As John Fund writes at pages 27-8 of Stealing Elections:
Perhaps no piece of legislation in the last generation better captures the ‘incentivizing’ of fraud… than the 1993 National Voter Registration Act[.] … Examiners were under orders not to ask anyone for identification or proof of citizenship. States also had to permit mail-in voter registrations, which allowed anyone to register without any personal contact with a registrar or election official. Finally, states were limited in pruning ‘dead wood’ – people who had died, moved or been convicted of crimes – from their rolls. … Since its implementation, Motor Voter has worked in one sense: it has fueled an explosion of phantom voters.
“Marxists Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven were instrumental in the passage of the law by Congress. They believed that poor people and radical agitators had every moral right to game the electoral system in order to bring about change. Cloward didn’t worry about fraud, either. “It’s better to have a little bit of fraud than to leave people off the rolls who belong there,” he said. Bill Clinton gave a shout-out to Cloward and Piven at the bill-signing ceremony in 1993 that both attended.”
Republicans knew that the measure was a bad idea. On final passage, the Senate vote was 62 to 36, with only seven Republicans voting “yea.” (None of the Republicans voting in the affirmative remains in the Senate.) The House vote was 259 to 164, with only 20 Republicans voting “yea.”
Between 1994 and 1998, nearly 26 million names were added to the voter rolls nationwide, almost a 20 percent increase,” according to Fund. Motor Voter has “been registering illegal aliens, since anyone who receives a government benefit [including welfare] may also register to vote with no questions asked.”

  5. Canada has no fiscal conservative party. And hasn’t for some time.
We will NEVER see a balanced budget with these clowns in charge.
    http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2012/11/13/michael-den-tandt-flaherty-update-makes-it-clear-canada-no-longer-has-a-conservative-party/
Just in case anyone were fuzzy on the breadth of Ottawa’s generosity, Flaherty rhymed off a list of “investments” in New Brunswick’s economy; $300-million for highways, $26.6-million for Saint John Harbour; $50-million for colleges and universities across the province.
The car’s on fire, and there’s no driver at the wheel.

  6. Re: Head shrinking kit!
Now that is so funny! I`m surprised they didn`t come up with a “U-do-it” cannibal cooking kit.
My favorite Xmas toy?? A circa 1962 Sanyo all band transistor radio. On boxing day, at -35 F temps, I climbed the roof to mount my aerial. I made it myself with copper wire. I could listen to stations all over the world. I still recall, there were Communists that were broadcasting anti-American propaganda late at night. They (stations) eventually disappeared, save a few that survived here in Saskatchewan and supported the CCF-NDP. They were know as the CBC!
    Thanks EBD!

  7. Hey LAS, you are right.
We should definitely get rid of Harper and Co.They are holding us back from enjoying the prospertity of the US, Britain, France, Spain , Greese—-oh wait!!!

Says the Libertine clown that voted Liberal in the last election despite the election shortly prior to that being forced because, get this, the Liberal/Bloc/NDP coalition didn’t think PMSH’s regime was spending enough, specifically on CAW bailouts and Green Alternative Energy promotion!

“Asked whether President Obama has a mandate on taxes, Ryan told ABC News’ senior political correspondent Jonathan Karl that the House Republican majority is proof that the president does not.
“I don’t think so, because they also reelected the House Republicans. So whether people intended or not, we’ve got divided government,” Ryan, R-Wis., said in his first national interview since last week’s loss. “This is a very close election, and unfortunately divided government didn’t work very well the last two years. We’re going to have to make sure it works in the next two years.””

“Photo Gallery: A Stalinist Utopia on the Caspian Sea”
“Stalin’s Atlantis was a proud secret of the Soviet Union. The foundation of the main settlement consists of seven sunken ships including “Zoroaster,” the world’s first oil tanker, built in Sweden. Eight-story apartment blocks were built for the 5,000 workers who sometimes spent weeks on Neft Dashlari. The island had its own beverage factory, soccer pitch, library, bakery, laundry, 300-seat cinema, bathhouse, vegetable garden and even a tree-lined park for which the soil was brought from the mainland.”

  17. LAS – that’s infrastructure development. Infrastructure development is a component of the first, most basic phase of an economy: Investment. Oh, and by the way, universities are, under law, the fiscal responsibility of the federal government.
Investment enables a population to produce wealth, ie, to build that business, increase jobs, transport their goods etc. In comparison, the US Stimulus money didn’t go to infrastructure or Investment. It went to Consumption; it was used to keep on public service employees in state governments. This is not Investment; this produces no new business or jobs.
In comparison, the lack of investment in, for example, New England meant that the hydro lines were not buried underground against storms, that they were not maintained above ground, and thus trees and winds snapped and destroyed power to the region.
Where did hydro income go? Heh, just as it goes in the Toronto Transit Commission, it went to the salaries of the employees (that’s Consumption). So, no money for Investing in upkeep, maintenance, new equipment.
The Investment phase is vital in an economy; it sets up the economic system so that it can generate more wealth, itself, and doesn’t need later dependency ..as in US food stamps, welfare, etc.

  18. Just a personal observation:
My wife wanted to see the band on Letterman last night so we had to sit through his monologue and intervening “comedy”. It was pathetic.
About 50% of his monologue was taking potshots at Mitt Romney–hey Dave, the election’s over and your guy won. Stop piling on, slimeball. There’s such a thing as a sore winner.
Then they did the top 10. Surprise, surprise, it was about the guy who got the Romney-Ryan tattoo. Not the smartest thing to do, but it reeked of piling on him as well as Romney. Again.
Then, worst of all, they did a skit about the fiscal cliff. It lasted all of 15 seconds. They opened up the curtain and there was a guy there standing on the edge of a (staged) cliff, and this guy’s name was “Fiscal Cliff”. Then they closed curtain. That was it.
It’s sad, but a lot of people rely on these idiots for their “news”. Letterman’s stance (aided by Shaffer) was that the fiscal cliff is not something he understands, and it was clear that he didn’t care and didn’t want to know about. And by extension, it’s something that we, the unwashed masses, need not inquire about. That’s it, buddy–bury your head in the sand.
I only occasionally watched this no-talent hack about 10 to 15 years ago, but I never really got into it. Now that I’m older and wiser, I understand why I didn’t–the guy is a) not at all funny and b) an ignorant jerk.
It’s a wonder he’s on TV at all.

  19. Hey is there any unofficial word from the cpc about who to vote for in the lpc leadership race yet? I’m assuming Justin is the ideal lpc leader for us.

  20. Hm. The score so far: incoherence from Oz, predictable sophist lies from ET, and I found the honest conservative. He’s an old white guy and I’m okay with him.

  21. These United States
    For our Journal editor:
    Born: July 4, 1776.
    Died: Nov. 6, 2012.
May God have mercy on her soul. Amen.

  22. LAS – what is sophist about my analysis of the triadic nature of the economy, and the need for Investment? Well? Can you answer or are you, as is your norm, just someone who insults but doesn’t substantiate.
And, LAS, what lies do you attribute to me? Again, are you just going to assert without any substantiation? Hmmm?
I repeat – an economy that simply focuses on Consumption, the last phase of the economy, and does not contribute to or leave enough in private hands to insert into INVESTMENT, will destroy that economy. If you eat all the seeds of your wheatfield, you will have none left to produce next year’s crop.
If you don’t invest in infrastructure, whether in the private or public sector.. such as roads and energy supplies, security, education in the public sector, and setting up new businesses in the private sector..then, the economy is dead.
If you tax away all the profits, and allow no investment but instead give it to the people for current day purchases…then, no new businesses will develop. No roads will be built. No new jobs will develop.
LAS – you don’t understand basic Economics. So, again, explain what is ‘sophist’ about my outline and also, what lies I told. Go ahead. Stand up for your comments.

  23. Every word you say is a lie ET, even the words that are true. That’s all the response you deserve.

  24. LAS – why is your sophist response, which is itself, logically, a lie – the only one I deserve?
What have I done to deserve sophistry and lies, from someone who interacts with me? Hmmm?
Oh, and how about justifying your assertions. It’s easy to pontificate; it’s just empty words. But how about providing actual facts to fill in your empty words? Well?
