    I’m sorry: Spray painting an ad that others have paid for, in particular others whose message you disagree with, is not “non-violent.” What I saw in Eltahawy’s extremely aggressive encounter with “Pam,” who was legally filming Eltahawy’s vandalism, was verbal and physical violence as she violated Pam’s personal space and defaced the approved ad. Note to Moron Mona: Islam is not a race. There was no racism in the ad. ‘Just facts and common sense and decency — all of which Eltahawy is a stranger to.
    People like Eltahawy are a scourge on our democracy. How dare she use democracy as an excuse to lie and vandalize? Send her back to the Middle East where she belongs because she sure as Hell doesn’t merit living in a true democracy which she defiles with her despicable behaviour.

  8. Phantom – I sometimes wonder if one of the reasons we can’t understand so, ok, new et al is that their first language is the Q’ran and the rest of the collection of writing that makes up their holy books.
    In attempts to understand them, I have tried to read their holy writings and it is stream of consciousness at best. It seems to be one random thought after another. It makes me think that someone raised in that culture will not be able to think like you or me and more importantly for those of us who think we understand them – – – we will not be able to think like them.
    The logical and doctrinal inconsistencies in the religious books must be held as valid and capable of existing at the same time in their thought in the same way that the logical and topical inconsistiecies must be capable of being expressed at the same time.

    Possibly. I’ve never read any of their books, so I can’t say. However the Bhagavad Gita, Lao Tsu’s Tao Te Ching, Sun Tsu’s Art of War, Musashi’s Book of Five Rings, The Bible, anything from Greece or Rome, even ancient Sumerian texts all display a linear narrative with each thought laid out completely before the next thought is broached.

Possibly a sign of illness, certainly indicative of an undisciplined, irrational mind. But mostly she doesn’t appear to care if anyone understands.
