Is her belly button where her mouth is or where her nose is?
Sorry, couldn’t resist.
I just don’t care. Cher is forever and she’s neater’n sliced bread. How bloody long has she been right out there amazing people. I’m impressed.
*cough*
capt_bob shes had so many lifts she has a beard now
Doesn’t exposure to the embalming fluid void the warranty on her cell phone?
Ive never liked the Diva to begin with. Just like “babs” Barbara Streisand.
They both have had so much surgery that it could run the budget of a small Country
There is nothing sadder to me than people who can not accept that they are no longer young and beautiful and in the spotlight. Old rockers on tour, old actors making action movies, sad sad sad.
The photo is of a 20 year old whereas Cher is, what, 65 or 66? (I’m not going to look it up … you get the point). Can Cher still carry a tune? Probably yes in the same way that her photo has been enhanced, i.e., through the wonder of electronics. Baby boomers have done enough damage to the world (I’m one). They need to let go!!!
I’ve got to agree that she is a construct, but a real construct. Some of her most recent music is actually cutting edge stuff, albeit, technomarvels. It amazes me that a woman of what ever her age is can look and sound like she does. Cher is a creature, a very interesting creature and one hell of an entertainer. Her record stands by itself.
She just needs to shut up and sing, and we’d all get along fine.
Her intonation is grating and vibrato is forced, perhaps explaining why she has done a lot of singing through a digital mechanism. She likely works hard and has good stage presence but there are many many better female vocalists more deserving of fame. And her politics sucks.
Sounds great!
Maybe Cher and Lady Gaga could launch the album by making a boldly feminist statement about independently-minded women (you go, girl!).
Why not hold a big concert in, say, Jakarta, Indonesia?
Oh wait…
Despite a background in psy-ops…I still wonder at allegedly rational people being influenced by the ignorant blatherings of actors and singers/musicians….
But then perhaps this has ancient roots….they are today’s troupadors…..
I am surprised she did not melt under all those hot light’s !!
You know, if she still has it then by all means have at ‘er. Rolling Stones, The Who, and countless others are still hitting the road and as long as they sell records (or whatever the term is these days) and make money then who cares? I saw Tina Turner perform on her 60th birthday, I think and she was as hot as ever.
The problem is when entertainers think their success at their profession makes them somehow geniuses in all fields and proceed to tell us so.
This old bag is no longer relevant,if she ever was with her ultra left wing politics.Too bad she wouldn t just fade into the past and stop trying to influence people who can barely remember who she was and what she was supposedly famous for.
Having seen Babs Steisand mentioned on the thread, I’d first remind fellow readers that Babs is a dyed in the wool left-winger. Therefore I assume she’d have some affinity for the aims of the OWS 99%’ers.
Her October appearance in Vancouver will likely sell out and as a friend (who just purchased tickets) told me today, stage side seats will sell for a measely $5900 each.
Hypocrisy, thy name is Hollywood.
