Talked with a good friend on the weekend who has a friend in London, England. Apparently, the Olympics are “one big bust”. Not many tickets have been sold, hotels owners who thought they were going to rake in the cash by being fully booked, are looking at lots of empty hotel rooms. Either people do not care any more about the Olympics OR they can not afford them as a vacation because they are unemployed or underemployed. So perhaps security will be enough as there will not be the need for crowd control. It will be interesting to see how crowded the venues are.
This is the same country that crapped on Vancouver 2010. Arguably, one of the biggest, safest, funnest Olympic party’s seen in the history of the games. Need we say more?
