Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Bob Fife call your office – research proves conservatives are knuckle-draggers!
———————————–
Researchers cite muscle-bound Hollywood action heroes like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris and Sylvester Stallone as evidence that aggression is linked to conservative politics.
And it may all stem from the hunter-gatherer instincts of macho men – which are a hangover of out cavemen origins when the strongest ruled the roost.

Its never the murder or horror done. Its absolutely never Islam. The dirty deeds coming back from this farcical, fratricidal religion is always about them. A Muslim back lash that never comes. No one who’s Muslim never need ever apologize. Just fear what their fellow koran followers bringing about what may affect them.
While parting in the background of denial.
In wake of jihad mass murder at Jewish school, New York Times propagates fears of fictitious “anti-Muslim” backlash
The problem is that Muslim hardliners consider no non-Muslim to be innocent. And the Qur’an tells us that “the unbelievers among the People of the Book” — that is, the Jews and Christians who reject Muhammad and Islam — are not human beings worthy of respect although they differ from Muslims in conscience, but “the worst of creatures” (Qur’an 98:6).

What . . . the . . . ???? . . . with that Osmond clip?
The clothes, the moves, the absent horn and percussion sections, the badly faked Telecaster solo. Hendrix it ain’t.
Link to Donnie should come with warning!
No…it’s not about the clothes and the wild graphics..
It was the NDP ad for Mulcair!!
Why is my SDA Late Night Tips clip start with an NDP advert? And who is this Thomas Mulcair?
Regrets…I have a few.

Immigration officials could block import of ‘illegal’ cultural norms.
OTTAWA – The Admissibility Branch at Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) is asking immigration officers posted abroad to update head office about applicants’ actions that might be legal in their home country, but not legal in Canada, QMI Agency has learned.
“Domestic violence may not be proscribed in some countries, whereas in Canada it could be assault (or) sexual assault,” the July 2011 request states.
Immigration officials also cite polygamy, cultivating and marketing khat – a drug popular in East Africa — and carrying a concealed weapon as priority issues they’d like to hear about.

“We love working and living in Marin, but the residents of Lucas Valley have fought this project for 25 years, and enough is enough,” the company said in a statement. “We have several opportunities to build the production stages in communities that see us as a creative asset, not as an evil empire.”
Now the opponents can look forward to a low income neighbourhood.
“We plan to sell the Grady property, expecting that the land will revert back to its original use for residential housing,” Lucasfilm said in an announcement. “We hope we will be able to find a developer who will be interested in low-income housing since it is scarce in Marin. If everyone feels that housing is less impactful on the land, then we are hoping that people who need it the most will benefit.”

Bet he will be found guilty even if he was innocent. The stakes are just too high and the call for blood is too hard to ignore. To the black community he has already been found guilty and now they are just waiting for the sentence. Anything under 2 years and there will be riots in the street. Too bad Zimmerman wasn’t black. Then the media wouldn’t have given a damn. Would have been just another day.
There’s rumors abound that tapes exist which document the Zimmerman / Trayvon shooting or at least some part of it. This will come out at trial. The fact Zimmerman phone Sean Hanity and Sean Hanity is now saying a tape exists says all you need to know about what’s on that tape.
For those, like me, who follow the business developments in hi-tech, this is a fact-filled article.

I`m having problems. When I share a Youtube video to send to a friend, I click on share, enter the e-mail address, then click on e-mail, it says “e-mail sent successfully,” but it never gets there!! What gives?
Haha the Osmond clip started with the Mulcair ad for me too! Be happy, does it not cost the dippers money?
Toronto Star, Tuesday, April 10. The latest trash from Ed Broadbent.
http://www.thestar.com/opinion/editorials/article/1158784–broadbent-poll-uncovers-public-desire-to-close-inequality-gap
“The gap between the rich and the rest of us has reached 1920 levels.”
“We asked Canadians for their views on whether the growing gap between the rich and everyone else is a problem and the response is conclusive.”
Note the irresponsible juxtaposition of “the rich” and “the rest of us” or “everyone else”, as if there is a 1% class earning millions and a 99% class earning slave wages. This is an appeal to envy, to the thoughtless desire for the unearned by some of the lower specimens of humanity, and nothing more.
Incomes fall on a smooth curve with one peak in what we call the “middle income” range – not two. There is no “gap”, that is, there is no income level that no one earns but that a few above and many below do.
Income inequality is not a problem per se. Every individual is different (how’s that for “diversity”?). They differ in their intelligence, their skills, their ambitions, their choices, and their luck, and undoubtedly many other characteristics.
In a free market capitalist economy, there should be a fairly standard distribution of incomes. Government intervention in the economy can make it difficult for business to operate and create jobs properly. Most social policy, including the “social programs” that Broadbent calls for more of, has this unfortunate result. In many cases, that’s the goal – to make things more difficult for business. Many of the phony “human rights” cases at the kangaroo courts fall into this category. Persons at the upper income level often have extra ways to look after themselves, and may well have “connections”. The vast majority do not, and they take the brunt of the assault on business that derives from irresponsible government spending and regulation, among other policies. The anti-capitalists will generally favour the policies that fill up the rosters for social programs rather than allow job creation.
The nations that are much closer to having a 1% class and a 99% class are those that have adopted the vicious, immoral socialist ideology of Ed Broadbent – North Korea, Cuba, Zimbabwe, the former Soviet Union. In those nations, a small parasitical elite that takes power, seized and maintained by violence, has a high standard of living while the average person suffers through being exploited. How often do Ed Broadbent and his ilk speak out against injustices like these?
As for his poll, I’d like to see the actual questions it asked. I’ve answered phone polls over the years and a lot depends on the wording of a question. Often, I can barely begin to explain my stance on an issue given the the multiple choice options. It’s easy to ask questions that appeal to the envy of thoughtless people. I suspect there’s a 95% probability that’s what Broadbent’s poll has done.
Credit where credit is due, that was pretty good.
nv53, it’s even worse when you look over time. Most of those with lower incomes are younger and over time move into the higher income brackets.
This is nothing more than dishonest grievance mongering.

From mother corp no less! Seems that a Kamloops art student made a photograph of a walking tent holding up a bra (gasp!) while folding laundry. As part of an assignment, a fine arts student had a female friend get dressed up in a burka and such and pose for this photo. Needless to say some enlightened staff member promptly tore it down. I guess this begs the question “Where was the staff member when the crucifix in urine was being displayed?”

That was an interesting read. However, here’s a contrarian viewpoint also from a libertarian source:
“Clearly in order for gold to function as a currency in our modern age, it must be represented either by paper or digital account. Which means it is ultimately of no more use in preventing inflation than if the government simply created rules today outlawing the inflation of dollars.
“Inflation of the money supply under a gold standard is replete throughout history. The US banks did it, European banks did it, every one did it! In fact, fractional reserve banking itself is a direct by-product of the gold standard. The first instances of fractional reserve banking came into existence when banks began issuing more receipts for bullion than they actually had in reserve. Nothing physically prevented them from doing this. They might have to face market consequences for this fraud, but obviously it would be better if the monetary system simply prevented them from committing this fraud in the first place!
“Really think about this for a minute. If the government made a law today that eliminated fractional reserve banking and froze the number of dollars in circulation at a fixed level, how would that be functionally any different than a gold standard? Would it even matter if those dollars were backed by gold or not if the money supply could not legally be inflated?”
(emphasis added)

Inmates sue over prison pool shutdown
http://www.sunnewsnetwork.ca/sunnews/canada/archives/2012/04/20120412-150157.html
MONTREAL – Life behind bars has been a splash for some inmates at a prison north of Montreal – until now.
Prisoners at the Leclerc federal penitentiary in suburban Laval are suing the Correctional Service for $100,000 after officials filled in a pool that inmates had built and maintained since 1984.
Sources tell QMI Agency that the pool was controlled by the Hells Angels, who had kept an exclusive membership list.
The medium-security facility includes bikers, Mafiosos and street-gang members.
Prisoners say they had a right to the pool because they’re the ones who have paid for it and maintained it for the past 28 years.
The Prisoners’ Rights Committee, an outside group that advocates for those behind bars, agrees.
“They demolished a pool that was totally functional,” president Jean-Claude Bernheim said. “What will they replace it with?”
He added that the warden should expect more violence now that prisoners have been left high and dry.
“We know that when prison conditions deteriorate too much, it causes riots,” Bernheim said.
Corrections officials said the pool was demolished in January for security reasons. A recent directive from the federal government stipulates that all pools inside federal penitentiaries must be shut down.
A second prison in Laval also had a pool, also paid for by prisoners, which was filled in recently.
Charles Murray’s “Coming Apart: The State of White America, 1960-2010” is a book for the deluded, who claim, oxymoronically, that they’re “fiscal conservatives but social liberals”. It’s also for those—often these two groups overlap—who dismiss Christianity as an anachronism, or worse.
(I have a lot of these magical thinkers in my own family: they’re generally extremely well off, live “far from the madding crowd’, in their mansions/elegant condos and at their exclusive vacation homes—some have both a ski cabin and a cottage!)
The book chronicles how “. . . [it’s] America itself that has come apart . . . [because of] the undoing of a virtue-based national exceptionalism. . . .
“ . . . [This book] leads one to the conclusion that the poor are not only more economically vulnerable, they are more culturally vulnerable and less able to maintain communities and values in the face of an assault on those values from the high ground of the cultural elites. Where middlebrow culture once taught aspirational moral and economic values, the popular culture of the present panders to the worst impulses and encourages the very forms of dissolution that make for serious social problems.
“Just as the decline of marriage hit the working class harder than the upper class, Murray’s statistics show that secularism is equally far more devastating in the working class with a 19 percent gap. Communities with below 50 percent marriage rates and above 50 percent secularism rates are, in the favored word in the progressive jargon, unsustainable. . . .
“Though packed with data, [this book] is less a call for social policies and more of a call for a moral awakening. Beyond trickledown economics, Murray would like to see trickledown values replace the disintegration of the national founding virtues that occurred when culture met counterculture. The segregation of the two Americas has created two cultures, both decaying in their own ways, the effete culture of Belmont and the decaying culture of Fishtown, one wrapped in its own insularity, the other drowning in popular culture with no moral center to cling to.”

…Numerous calls have been received that the Obama campaign has taken over caucus sites and locked the doors, excluding Clinton campaign supporters from participating in the caucus. The Clinton supporters have been unable to enter the premises to caucus. In at least one instance, law enforcement was called and forcibly opened the caucus site….

…of Obama, Romney and Santorum. Only the Obama site accepted the donation without the verification number….
…The Obama campaign’s donation page for Americans living outside the US also lacks the security verification code field….
…Only the Obama campaign’s web site lacks the security code field. The others require it, and will not accept donations unless the security code and payment information match up.
Obama’s campaign implemented the same lack of verification in 2008, but the mainstream media never called them on it. It appears as though that episode has prompted a repeat in 2012….
…the Obama campaign disabled the verification system. The verification system is turned on on web sites that accept credit cards, by default. …
…People who do not know that their credit cards have been compromised may not notice small amounts in the $3 dollar donation range that the Obama campaign has been targeting, when such donations show up on their statements….
…It was not widely reported in 2008, but some of Obama’s donations had odd dollar amounts w/ odd cents as well. This was thought to be because these donations came from foreign sources and were attributed to currency conversion. But no one really investigated, so it’s not clear how much money in 2008 was actually foreign….

I watched an interview with Donny Osmond, when he was trying to re-start his career. He was bitter about the way people shunned him, and pretended they never listened to his music. He commented “if everyone hated our music, who bought all those albums?”.
