1. Governments are just “throwing money off the truck,” as our former BC premier Glen Clark would say. The largesse doesn’t come from the politicians’ pockets; it just serves to make propagandists (Suzuki et al) richer and hands them power to betray people who actually work for a living.

2. The U.K. isn’t the only government throwing money off the truck.
   Glendale, AZ, City Council put $20 million in escrow to cover the operating costs of the Phoenix Coyotes this year. Now their city council is running out of money, and their Mayor, Elaine Scruggs, was shocked to find out that they couldn’t withdraw that money.
   “Originally, Scruggs wanted to simply withdraw the $20-million from the account but she was not aware until recently that the city did not have control of the escrow account.”

   The Mayor puts $20 million in an escrow account without knowing what escrow means?!
   If I know anything about Gary Bettman, he’ll have Glendale’s hands legally bound on this one. They’ll have no recourse whatsoever. The $20 million will all go to the NHL to cover the ridiculous losses the Coyotes rang up this year.
   If people keep electing fools to public office, they’ll reap the results. Like the $1 BILLION dollar debt Glendale city council has racked up building sports arenas (among other things).
   I would laugh, except I know there are a hundred Canadian examples I could point to that are just as bad.

3. About two weeks ago, Canada’s environment minister, Peter Kent, told Suzuki to ‘chill’.
   Up until now, that kind of talk to Canada’s green god would have brought an instant and brutal response from the flake. I guess he realizes the jig is up, the wool is off.
   The Brit’s, however, are still suckers – for now.

4. Only L20,000 for environmentalists of ethnicity? Cheap. Racist. Bastards.

   Aye. Canadian taxpayers have been contributing heavily to these eco-parasites for years.
   Maybe Smith will put a stop to it in Alberta…no other so-called “Conservatives” have the balls to do it.

8. Remember that if the UK wants to send money to disaffected groups in Canada to oppose our economic development we can return the favour.
   Various wings of the Provisional IRA are always short of cash. I am part Irish anyway – Erin go Bragh. The Provos like Protestants – don’t they?

   Glen Clark was not known for SAYING “throwing money off the truck”, he was know for DOING “throwing money off the truck” … in massive quantities.
   He also said (and attempted) “we are going to spend our way to prosperity”.
   I thought he was one of a kind until Obama came along.

    Yes, yes I did. Far as I recollect, Glen Clark DID say that when questioned about his profligate spending. As in, “sure, we’re just throwin’ money off the back of the truck.”

12. Isn’t a lot of this just Suzuki-envy, that we didn’t hop on the global warmthinkery con?
    There’s people with his qualifications that spend their life sitting at a microscope identifying various organisms in feces. Imagine how THEY feel.

13. Chutzpa, Thanks. I was concerned that you were casting him as fiscally prudent, which would be the opposite of the truth.
    I also lived through the mess he made of BC in the 90’s.

    If this lefty sleeze continues to pull a charity tax free scam, I’m applying for tax free charity myself for my political actions.

    The David Suzuki qualifications would be put to best use/practice if he personally verifying the comfort & accurately of rectum thermometers…
