THE East Antarctic ice sheet looks unlikely to release its frozen grip any time soon. A new model suggests that prehistoric sea-level rise long thought to have been caused by the ice sheet melting was actually the result of local subsidence.
Has it ever occurred to the warmists to go and look at these allegedly melting ice caps/sheets?

There’s a scientist at the U of Manitoba who goes out on a tugboat and putters around near Churchill about once a year to measure ice with a tape measure, just to prove the satellites wrong.
Any scientist that stupid must have invested his life savings in carbon credits. A tape measure ? Can only mean desperation to salvage a lost cause. Just hope he’s doing it on his own time and dime. Somehow I doubt it.
Regarding ground sinking and not sea levels rising.
The earthquake in Japan shows the flooding risk now inherent in it’s aftermath on some coastal areas.
The largest fall of 84 cm was observed in Rikuzentakata, Iwate Prefecture, followed by 78 cm in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, said the institute that released the findings of its survey which used the global positioning system.
A drop of 29 cm was also found in Soma, Fukushima Prefecture, it said.
The drops were caused by a sharp movement of plates below the Tohoku region in northeastern Japan due to the magnitude 9.0 earthquake on March 11.
Wow, there sure is ice in that picture. If Global Warming were a thing ice would obviously be extinct.
Al Gore and Christiana Figueres (CEO-UNFCCC) and around 100 others alarmists were visiting Antarctica in February, to see all the sea ice melting, before continuing on to Bangladesh to show how the sea levels are rising from the Antarctic melt.
Notice how they picked the peak of the thaw and minimum sea ice cover, which is irrelevant anyway to sea levels.
Now the sea ice is closing in again, just like it always does.

Ummmm… Just what sea level rising? Before or after the ice age? Most paleogeologists agree that the amount of water used for the ice shields FAR outweighed any subsistence caused by glacial weight. AND,as the glaciers RETREAT due to melting,the land ceases its subsistence. But again the rebound can’t make up for the sheer volume of newly meltd ice,so sea level rises,sometimes 300-500′. But funny thing is,we are still here! I think this author has mixed up a few terms and results into a model GIGO.
Not that I agree a flea’s arse with cAGW. The are more unknown variables in world climate and how it works,more even then there is in the mind of the leftard eco-cultists who bow at the altar of cAGW(and brain-dead polis/sheeple who follow their leaders)

Bangladesh, much like the netherlands is a delta. Settling and decomp of organic silt is a constant factor.
Bangladesh ground levels are stabilized by silt but the Netherlands with it’s centruies long, anti-flooding engineering has removed this factor….resulting in the Netherlands already below sea-level slovly sinking further at a rate of about 1 cm/year.
Here in otherwise geologically stable Ontariario, a subject to minor earthquakes as “iso-static rebound occurs….the last one in the south, under lake Eire went 5.6 R.
Iso-static rebound has been credited for the catastrophic Jacaloops that drained Lake Aggasis on several occasions.

The world leaders are all sitting around a table at the latest Copenhagen Climate Change summit.
After the initial pleasantries, Herman Van Rompuy head of the EU speaks first. “I will end climate change, just like I solved the Greek melt down! I will be tough on Climate Change and tough on the causes of climate change! Europe will spend 200 billion Euros on fighting Climate Change this year!”
Before Herman has even sat back down, Angela Merkel of Germany begins to speak.
“That’s nothing! Germany will spend €300 billion on fighting climate change!”
Nicolas Sarkozy of France speaks next; “We will end zis climate change. We will spend €1 trillion on fighting climate change!”
Attention now turns to the Prime Minister of Canada, he stands and calmly announces: “We have budgeted to spend $1,000 on fighting climate change over the next 10 years.”
People around the table begin to snigger. Embarrassed, the Canadian PM slams his fist onto the table and shouts “Ok, ok, we will spend $100 trillion on climate change!”.
The sniggering around the table has now become hysterics; “How will you afford that?”
“Well” the PM began, “The real figure was bit low, so I just made another up. Isn’t that how it works around here?”

The Noah and similar stories are likely archaic stories of a breach of the icewalls or trapped glacial lakes in Europe. Washington Scablands are a similar result.
