Unbelievably, HSUS, and to a lesser extent PETA, have grown into well-funded juggernauts with tremendous political influence at the local, state, and federal levels in the United States. HSUS pushes for a thousand-plus laws on all levels per year to usher in its brave new vegan vision. Most of this lobbying activity appears to be illegal and based upon fraudulent fundraising activity. There is an ongoing IRS investigation into this matter. Meanwhile, PETA’s focus is the media, education, and influencing public opinion to embrace the animal rights agenda. Horrifically, they have been incredibly successful to this end.
It has long been the goal of HSUS and PETA to “capture” California and to mandate veganism through carefully worded and placed state laws. The “capture” of California would be the crown jewel of their animal rights movement knowing that as goes California, so goes the nation. To this end, HSUS has ushered forth SB 917 and AB 1117. SB 917 will legally redefine the term “animal cruelty” with purposefully overbroad and poorly defined law to include the transportation, display, and all sales of animals on public property.

If PETA succeeds there will be those getting sick due to protein deprivation. Soon there will be medical burger shops spring in up around California.
It’s global stupiding we need to be dealing with.
They’ll capture California just as it goes broke and the mexican immigrants take it over.
Like they’ll car or follow any anti meat laws.
Communism by stealth and increments.
The Mexicans could take it back anytime they want. Politically they already have the power. They just can’t figure out what to do with with the millions of mental patients that are infested in all areas of civil service.
Abe: “there will be those getting sick due to protein deprivation”
My 92 going on 93 yr old friend would argue that with you. She’s been a vegan for over 10 yrs: still drives, goes to the gym at least 3x a week, still travels, and is in better health than most 70 yr olds.
She was a war bride so survived the food rationing in England also.
There has to be a better argument than that, Abe.
Ingrid Newkirk suffers from a particular disease that is easily cured by the method of high-velocity lead injection. It’s called Fascism.
She could hardly complain, could she? After all, “a rat is a pig is a dog is a boy”, right?
So California restaurants will serve ‘chile san carne’ instead of ‘chile con carne’. Sounds typical in the land of fruits and nuts. I once met a vegan whose hair had not grown in 12 years due to a protein deficiency; the barber lobby won’t like HSUS’s efforts.
Here’s what I this would be fun to do when a vegan starts getting on their high horse about their dietary choice: ask them why they do it. If they say it’s for health, you say “good for you” and let it drop. If they in any way imply it makes them superior to non-vegans, ask them if that then makes them superior to predatory animals like wolves and orcas. I did this once, and it was delightful to watch the guy stand there with his gears grinding.
Eventually he grimly replied “yes”, and I then asked, if he was so superior to predatory animals, why wasn’t it okay to kill and eat them?
He became totally unhinged at that point and I had to walk away to avoid being drawn into a fistfight. It’s the one question I would really like to ask the no-lobes like Newkirk and her followers.
If racon come and kill so many of your chicken in farm or back house with other animals
and you accidently kill racon in your property
is animal society can arrest you in Canada or not?
how law work for animal protection inside of your property when damage your property or damage you
how we can get them out then?
I called once to animal society that there is too many similar like fox seen I think call them kauooty in north york
the lady told me
so what
they are animals they must live and eat something
i said they can kill children when walk home
she said I do not think they are not bother human
I said how do you know that
you can predict animal behavior
or put law enforcment on animals
they are animals for god sake
after one hour argument
she agreed to send a group for invesigation
then animal society bother with us said you have no right to have chicken in backyard
our backyard is big they said only farm can allow to have chicken not big house yard
again I see this ridiculs
we had small chicken for not eat as pat and we bought them very expensive to give us for fun eggs they were only 4 of them
they force us to get away them to farm
or they will give us fine
I’ll give you my hamburger when you pry it from my cold, dead hands.
Agree with northeront. I also think that even in California more than a few people are going to blow a gasket when they can’t own (or eat) Fluffy, never mind the real animal based food. Besides, I have a feeling that McDonalds and BK and KFC and Wendy’s and (my personal fav) El Pollo Loco and a ton of others might have something to say about this.
Affluent white leftists will be on the menu in California before long.
I still dream of the 125 lb Pig I roasted a few years back and wake up in the morning chewing on my girl friends thigh!
gellen, what do suppose helped get your friends through the first 92 going on 83 years? As an omnivore, I heartily endorse a diverse and varied diet that includes all stuff as long as moderation and COMMON SENSE prevails. Humanity is as diverse as it’s diet should be. I explained that to the crustation (lobster) that had a swim in the butterfat of bovine this past repast.
check this link nuff said!!!

There are just somethings in meat that you cant get from veggies. we are by nature omnivors not herbivores . thats why we have k-9’s and incisors they are for ripping and tearing flesh, we also have molars and wisdome teeth to grind and pummle plants and nut’s and so on .
while i am all for doing what ever you want with your body in repect to what you eat , don’t try to tell me about the benifits fo a vegitarian diet!! casue there is none!!
Lately the OSPCA raided 16 Amish farms in Ontario with 45 inspectors plus OPP for back-up.
They found a dog with tartar on its teeth….

Longevity is genetic; end of story. In every culture there are those blessed with the genes to enable them to live longer than average. There have been studies that seem to suggest that reducing food intake as you get older helps you maintain better health; probably true because as you age you may not be as active and your body probably requires less calorie intake.
I don’t understand why PETA and the HSUS waste their time trying to convert the Western world onto a vegan diet when there are 3 billion people in much of the developing world trying to get onto animal protein diets.
With today’s food science technology, I think it could be quite easy to live on a healthy vegetarian diet (however, I am not willing to try). Maybe those groups should spend their time working in these third world countries showing them how to do it before they get a taste of meat. Oh yeah, that might take them too far from their fair-trade-soy-latte-double-pull-espressos.
I wish that new, r or whatever her nom-de-plum is, would stick with one handle. nobody is fooled, same person, same inane rant.
Get a clue folks … it is not about food … it’s about control.
OMMAG nails it. That is exactly what it is about.
PETA has found a way to solicit funds with out having to work for a living like most of the rest of us. Typical apparatchik mentality.
Meat-eating is an illogical, immoral practise which is on its way out, anyway.
Awareness has been spreading steadily, and in 15-20 years the majority will be vegetarians.
Sure joe, millions of years of mankind eating animals will go away because some moroons have an asinine ideology.
Suuuuuure Joe, and God gave us canines and incisors and a need for animal protein just for fits and giggles. Really.

Just remember joe, the skinny ones always go first.
I have no problem with soylent green, as long as they were raised organically, in a free-range habitat, with no anti-biotics or growth hormones and fed a 100% vegan diet.
You can have my hands when you pry them off my cold, dead hamburger. Er, hold on, I think I’m doing this wrong…

If an organic carrot were labeled with this (partial) list of its ingredients, how many of us would purchase one? It contains many chemicals that we might reject including Phytic Acid ( 52,700 ppm; a preservative with E number E391), Xanthotoxin (300 ppb; a drug with the trade name Oxsoralen), Oxalic Acid (56 ppm, a pesticide used to treat bee hives, fatal in humans at 71mg/kg), Methylamine (3,970 ppm, an industrial solvent and DEA controlled substance), and so on.

And this is just in a carrot. Imagine if you ate a whole plate full of vegetables. No wonder vegans are such sick puppies with so many mental problems. Just look what it’s done to the PETA community. Poor buggers. No wonder mama made me lick the grease off the plate. She knew what was good for me. Always said that if grease wasn’t dripping down my chin, it wasn’t worth eating. Used to slip the veggies to the dog. Poor thing died at age nine. I say we should ban all fast food vegetable drive-ins and ban all children toys that come with spinach meals. Think of the money we would save on our health care, but more important….think of the children. Those poor skinny children.
peterj — I always laugh when people hyperventilate about “estrogenic compounds” in plastics, but eat tofu and soy milk and textured vegetable protein.
I agree Rob. We have way too much time on our hands to worry about nothing. I like the old chinese proverb stating the only thing that will kill us long before our time, is worrying about what will kill us in the first place. If you enjoy it, eat it, if not , leave it alone. Anything in moderation.
