If they are so committed to their worldview they shouldn’t be expecting payment for promoting it.

Nice! Shut up some more left wits.
Well , it tells you one thing. The left loves money. They just don’t like others to have any.
I mean if you blog who expects to be paid?
Even people like Steyn, Ezra, or Coren don’t unless its a magazine that solicits their opinion.
Like Sun papers & such. Why should commenter’s be crying a river. It why you comment to begin with.To get your opinion across.
Unless your a Professional writer who’s contracted to write. Why would you think your vents would mean much more than any ones else’s? Its just too funny.
Make your own blog than.
Lots of good writers & other bloggers here. I don’t see them weeping for cash from Kate.
Its a forum for ideas , not a business.
It’s a shame really. Like a cartel I’d rather see it contained. When major crap manufacturers and consumers get scammed by the dealer, the supply and the demand gets dispersed which allows new markets to emerge. All the writers should return to their keyboards, bust a cap into Ariana and continue to serve their dependent community.
In other words:
Sue the ever living 5hit out of her and write about it in her forums. That way we can all be captivated watching a snake eat itself safely in the comfort of our blogs.
If AOL is stupid enough to pay 315 million for this left wing rag with few assets and free bloggers I can only give credit to Ariana Huffington for selling virtually nothing except a home for the left wing loonies to share their ideas on saving Gaia and social justice. Just can’t see this lawsuit going anywhere since the bloggers have no contracts and for that matter were never hired. Money for nothing and the twits are free. Wasn’t that a song by Dire Straits ?? You go girl…but maybe this is a good time to take the money and run, before the global warming scam unravels completely and all you are left with is the global justice thingy which is working out so well in Europe. The lawsuit has no chance. And AOL……what were you thinking??
‘Well , it tells you one thing. The left loves money. They just don’t like others to have any.’
Well said Revnant Dream. Scratch a lefty and you will find a cheap, money grubbing, demanding, infantile individual. They never pick up the bill, they do not tip and they never say ‘my treat’ unless they are trying to impress a person who has more $$ than them or they want something from someone: usually a combination of both motivations.
So , if these unpaid writers, are slaves on a plantation, can someone put a bounty on them and create some jobs for guys like DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER. The bounty wouldn’t have to be much, and I could incite them to run away, then call the bounty hunter, it’s a win-win for everyone!
I just love watching leftards devour each other. To borrow and paraphrase Henry Kissinger’s view of the Iran-Iraq War, it’s a shame they all can’t lose.
Huffington post – one site that I have no interest in visiting. Why AOL would pay that much money for this POS is incomprehensible, but Ariana must be laughing all the way to the bank.
Unless there was a contract to pay for blog posts that author’s submitted, they haven’t a hope in hell of getting any compensation. There is no shortage of people who want to post their opinions online and those who have a following might make some money with book sales or through advertising on a popular blog. I suspect that a group of striking leftist bloggers will have close to zero impact on the blogosphere. Another example of the entitlement mentality in action.

While they are over there trolling their stupid,
stinking lawsuit dribble.
You can enjoy a breath of fresh Canadian air at SDA.
That in itself has to be worth the price of a Canadian back bacon, Maple syrup,
pancake breakfast..
Money for nothing and the twits are free. Wasn’t that a song by Dire Straits ??
Peter J that’s an awesome line.
Can I borrow it?
Cripes I guess the lesson of the dot com bubble bursting a decade ago has worn off- time to take money from suckers again? Remember when people that should have known better were throwing megabucks at anything remotely tech sounding, or internet?
I did, but didn’t have capital etc to short the $hit out of it.
Convincing my stock broker brother-in-law, however was not illegal…..
Heh
Dave in Pa, me to.
It is interesting that the Canadian Edition has 1.8 million visitors a month. Unfortunately that tells me that this left wing rag has a significant following.
Can’t wait to tell these putzes about the SDA dividends…;)
“On Tuesday, Mr. Tasini unleashed his outrage over The Huffington Post’s practices, likening the Web site’s founder, Arianna Huffington, to a slave owner.”
Are lawyers capable of anything but obfuscation and hyperbole?
As someone said earlier,Arianna must be laughing all the way to the bank.
I’m not sure how much of that 1.8 million Huff Canada gets could be construed as ‘followers’ Ken. I go there regularly just to see what the loons are yapping about today.
So these writers contributed to the Huffington Post of their own free will, knowing full well the terms.
Then they claimed afterwords it was slavery and sued the HP.
Well at least now they’re negotiating the terms beforehand, and (perhaps) won’t whine about it afterwords. We’ll make conservatives of them yet.

Feel free to keep it. Was just a brain fart.
Huffpoo has a Canadian site? Who knew? 🙂
Commercial valuation is based on advertising revenue which depends on the number of readers. It’s the readers that should be paid.
If valuation depended on merit, sda would be where facebook and Apple are now.
If they are so committed to their worldview they shouldn’t be expecting payment for promoting it.
