    I started taking a look at Nazanin after reading an earlier comment you made.
    One has no reason to wonder why the Canadian MSM hasn’t at all advertised her and Peter’s wedding. Simply put, she has no qualities the “left” would find admirable.

  2. What a great beauty she is in the broadest possible sense of the word.
    In an earlier day, I’d be tempted to forward this to some liberal pro-muslim friends and even my very liberal daughter who once, to counter her old man’s “islamophobia”, bought him a book about Islam and Democracy.
    I once loaned Ayyan Hirsi Ali’s Infidel to my hairstylist who is a very intelligent and liberal young lady. She returned it to me six weeks later at the next appointment with no comment whatsoever.

  6. Do you all remember this controversy last March? Justin Trudeau later made an apology – faux IMO – but his original sentiments were most likely closest to his heart.
    Just imagine if he was single and had asked out Nazanin Afshin-Jam for a date. She would have laughed in his face!
    I believe it was Michael Coren who famously said, “Poor little Justin, he has his father’s last name but his mother’s brain.”

    The wedding was a secret private affair revealed by MacKay on his website.
    The photos of the ceremony were sold to magazines that agreed to make donations to charities.
    In light of that, I don’t know what the MSM could have done other than report what was on his website – that he got married. They had no way of knowing what the ceremony was like or what happened during it.
    FWIW, every news outlet carried stories about the wedding once MacKay announced it.
    That said, please feel free to keep attacking the strawman you have constructed. FWIW, SDA didn’t have a clue about the wedding either.

  19. Peter MacKay made a wise choice, I sincerely hope they stay together. I admire both of them even more now, and I wish all the best of luck for their future. She will help advance his career immensely. It doesn’t hurt one bit that she is very attractive, and intelligent. Brains and beauty are a rare combination.
    This is good for Canada, and Conservatives in particular who need to shed the common misconception that they’re just a “bunch of successful, but not too intelligent white guys”.
    As for the RWNJs who continue to spew their hatred and name-calling, I’m glad they’ve identified themselves so I can ignore anything they write. They’re the same personalities as the LWNJs. Same unfocussed stupid hatred, just different targets.

    #1, if she was a Muslim and at 24 Sussex Drive, who cares?!
    #2, I spoke with an Ismaili-Muslim friend of mine about her today. He said that she converted over to Christianity. But again, who cares?!

    She is fighting against homosexuals being killed.
    She is fighting against women being pressured to wear hijab and niqqab.
    She is fighting against killing of apostates in Islam.
    She is fighting against “honor murders” in Islam.
    So if she is Muslim, what of it?

  24. I don’t have a problem with most Muslim spiritual beliefs. I do have a problem with any people who use those beliefs as an excuse to commit terrorist activities and oppress women. Some Christian sects oppress women too, and Ireland saw quite a lot of terrorist activity where religion was used as the excuse. No religion is immune from being used as a tool to oppress human rights and commit violence.
    I oppose oppression, regardless of the excuse used to justify it.

  26. Actually I hope that Jason Kenney becomes the leader of the Conservative Party after PMSH decides to retire after four terms as Prime Minister. 😉
    That being said, Peter MacKay made a great choice for a mate…well…or maybe it was the other way around. In any case all the best to both of them.

    The lefty trolls both on the web and in the media are out in full tongue. The derangement is being more and more obvious.
    That outburst of filth by Letterman, re Sarah Pallin’s daughter is SOP…reinforced by the recent fracas about Rick Santorum’s mourning of his new-born. These people have only hate…no sense of civility or decorum…only hate….they make the Nazi SS seem humaine. They are not insane…that is a human quality…they are mad dogs…..
    According to Rasmussin there are more Afro-Americans(14%) than committed lefties in the US(+/-10% est).
    As far as the new Mrs. McKay she is reportedly a convert to Christianity….and now in more need of body-guards….Muzzies consider it their duty to kill converts/apostates….lefty fanatics?
    She is indeed a poised, attractive woman, with a pilots licence…. I have no further opinion, because I have not made her acquaitance.
    As far as Iran. I have a friend who is Iranian born….his family are and for centuries have been Roman Catholics…..That’s why they emigrated/fled to Canada.

  34. peterj, I’m not so sure that she’s a social justice advocate as opposed to a justice advocate. The left campaigns on social justice. Their rule is never guided by justice.
    Truly attractive women are attracted to conservative men (they don’t need the government to take care of them). She would not fit in with the NDP.

    I like the fact she is grounded in reality of the Islamist universe. Not making excuses for the Sharia insanity. The only thing I don’t like is her use of the phrase “human Rights”, that every totalitarian uses to justify tyranny.
    To me its just another way of saying the Government can control you.

  39. I agree with the advocacy of human rights at home and abroad and the uselessness of the UN. Well the UN is more than useless it is now a force for bad in the world. BUT if the UN can be taken over by anti-Semites and become a weapon against the West, then a world system set up to punish human rights abuses can also be taken over and become a system of human rights abusers. Please let us do the more difficult task of doing what Nazanin Afshin-Jam did in gathering support and taking the case to the our leaders and world opinion. Do not think you can have a quicker and easier path of a world court and world police that will FIX the problem. This is a pathway to disaster not justice and restitution. Who gets to choose these world police and judges? How much will your vote count when it is measured against the people of the world. The west is unique it is not the norm. It is an aberration in history. That uniqueness means the world does not agree with us and they will vote the opposite of human rights justice. They will impose on us the very abuses we are fighting against.
