“One has to wonder how long until they give in?”
Already happening…witness the banning of Christmas trees in public buildings….

  2. According to the Global Warming crowd, the Maldives will be gone by 2025 (2050, 2100, ?,?, etc), swallowed up by the rising oceans. Thus this is a temporary situation and we shouldn’t worry. Until then, it is a totally moslem country governed primarily by Shiria law. It has been, effectively if not in fact, a dictatorship since 1968. It does however have it’s immigration problems, specifically from India and Bengladesh. The natives dislike these immigrants and discriminate against them. Often they are the ones used in the sex trade….. So it goes.

  3. Damn, another tropical paradise lost before I got there. Talk about shooting one’s self in the foot, besides tourism the Maldives major industry is… nothing. Maybe those other Islamic countries will be sending aid when their economy goes tits up.

  4. Sasquatch, your most excellent point illustrates the most comfortable marriage between Radical Islam (RI) and Radical Leftism (RL).
However, while subjugating Christianity is one thing, it’s a whole other thing altogether for RI to ban things that the RL loves. However, I predict we’ll get a preview of just that in the coming years in places like Holland and Belgium.
It may not be too much longer before RI groups demand “Only Covered Women” beaches in/around Toronto. Your average RL member is undoubtedly calling me a fear monger right now. Let’s see if they’re still singing the same tune by 2020.

  5. From the CIA website:
    at birth: 1.05 male(s)/female
    under 15 years: 1.04 male(s)/female
    15-64 years: 1.57 male(s)/female
    65 years and over: 0.98 male(s)/female
    total population: 1.4 male(s)/female (2011 est.)
I’m not sure what they do to get rid of close to 40% of their females by adulthood. It makes me shudder to think of tens of thousands of missing women.

  6. You know, there’s not much I can do from my armchair about the Maldives. Its far away, and it looks like people there support this stupidity. On the surface anyway. I have no doubt the bars, massage parlors and etc. will be open tomorrow morning with new disguises and fresh protection payments to the Chief of Police. Because that’s the way they roll.
Here in Canada though, that I can do something about. I want to see the guy who thinks he’s going to make my mother wear one of those effing head scarves. He’s going to need a lot of really brave friends, because if he survives my mother he’ll have me to deal with.
And on that note, as I said to Kathy earlier we have in this country taken the first steps toward making sure our free country stays free. We BEAT THE LIBERALS. Finally. Mocking them now that they’re beat is a perk of victory, one which I shall enjoy to the full as we roll forward to our next victory, halving the size of government in this country.

  7. Millions of Brits go to the Maldives each year on vacation. This will dry up the tourist trade and eliminate a lot of jobs which will help them regress back to the stone age even faster.

  8. North of 60 and others. Stop blaming us atheists and face the real problem. Organised religion.
The real solution here is to fence in the entire area and hope fritfly and the goreacle are right.
Later we can spray the area with tepol so we don’t get ring around the ocean.

  9. No alcohol? That alone is a death knell for the tourist industry. Scratch another potential vacation off my list.

  10. I believe Robert is right @ 9:05.
Only a half dozen years ago we heard nothing about these sorts of incidents and now they are occurring almost daily. The momentum towards some major flashpoints somewhere is building fast.

  11. Lots of people just hate anyone who believes differently than they do.
Religion is just another excuse to justify that belief.

France and Britain have also acknowledged the problem but also know it is already too late to put the genie back into the bottle. The Muslim foothold has been established and considering the difference in breeding rates the long term outlook looks dangerous. Less than 40 years before white Christians are a minority and the big changes come. What was not won by war will be won by fertility rates and complicity.

  13. I wonder how the workers who get their wages running these resorts feel. All the low end workers as well. Did they demand it also? Waiting till the nuts who did this realize they just shot their own golden goose. Who is the government going to tax when most jobs are gone ?
Welcome back Maldives to the Dark age.

  14. it’s already starting here and increasing speed as the country goes downhill…
the moonbats don’t stop to think that they’re the ones that will be wearing the hijab first..because they’ll do it out of ‘cultural sensitivity’…
then when they’re beaten for not wearing one, they won’t have an argument…
and when they’re thrown out of their social engineering jobs because they’re both unnecessary under shar’ia and because women are forbidden to work, they won’t have any recourse other then to be either strung up from the nearest construction crane, hide their acid scars under a burqa or let themselves be taken by a husband and locked in their house for the rest of their lives….
all in all pretty good fitting and ironic ending for a femnazi since the priceless part is…they’re the ones demanding it.

  15. Ken (Kulak)
I agree with your comment about flashpoints.
The Maldives has a problem….the cash cow of Durban should have been a warning. Basically shutting down the tourist trade will be more than a test of faith.
Idle hands will take to the streets….
The end result could resemble pre-Castro Havana….or North Korea…..

  16. “Stop blaming us atheists and face the real problem. Organised religion”
Yeah right,if only those lazy Christians would just kill themselves, then islam wouldn’t have to get their hands bloody.

  17. How do the Maldivians plan to replace the lost revenues and placate rather perturbed foreign investors?
They can rely on increased western largesse, er foreign aid, oh sorry, climate justice funding, right? After all the poor little islands are at the head of the line for the saving al gore rhythms, right?
Is that part of the Sharia motivated’s thinking? After all, they seemed to tolerate this western debauchery in their homeland until now. What changed their “why should Bahrain have all the fun” attitude?
Are we headed for a teaching moment here?

  18. Friends in Thailand have watched Islam spread across Malaysia. The methods for conquering a village are both insidious and effective. They first convert the biggest stupidest thugs. These thugs become the enforcers as people are coerced to convert or face reprisals. These are the same techniques that gangs use when they take over an area. This should be a wake-up call for North America, but unfortunately the propaganda of multiculturalism has paved the way for slow and insidious Muslim conquest.

Pakistani Taliban Declare School Girls Playing Sports Un-Islamic, Commence Bombing Campaign…
KHYBER AGENCY — Sporting or extra-curricular activities have become a new Taliban-imposed taboo for tribal students as militants targeted two schools in the Khyber tribal region for letting students, including girls, compete in sports or cultural events.
Areas under Taliban control in parts of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa already endured a strict ban on playing and listening to music.
“The Taliban . . . are now looking for soft targets after being frustrated by continuous successes in military operations in different parts of FATA,” Fazal Manan, director of education of FATA, told Central Asia Online.
“Girls’ education is also considered un-Islamic by these self-proclaimed champions of the religion of Islam. . . . They have now started targeting schools where students, particularly girls, had participated in any extra-curricular activities.”
Militants have destroyed almost 450 schools in the tribal regions, he said.
The Taliban destroyed two schools in Jamrud and Landi Kotal tehsils of Khyber Agency December 18 and December 22. The attacks came after girls attending a Jamrud school competed in a sporting gala and after boys at a Landi Kotal private school organised a cultural show to mark the end of their school year. The regional Directorate of Sports in Peshawar administered both events.
Abdullah Ezaam Brigade, an auxiliary of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan in Khyber Agency, claimed responsibility for both bombings and warned of more such attacks if students, particularly girls, continued such activities. However, FATA Director of Sports Faisal Jameel is defiant and promises more such sporting contests in the future to attract tribal girls to healthy activities.

  20. More from the CIA fact book
Tourism, Maldives’ largest economic activity, accounts for 28% of GDP and more than 60% of foreign exchange receipts. Over 90% of government tax revenue comes from import duties and tourism-related taxes. Fishing is the second leading sector, but the fish catch has dropped sharply in recent years.
Yep… this will work out just fine.
