Ahhh…the age of innocence. I had the record and loved the song along with the rest of his music back in 63. Like most people (i presume) I probably had no idea what the lyrics meant and never questioned it. Just a neat song. Now I would think of a sea of humanity at a pilgrimage. The neat song was so much nicer.
I worship at her shrine
Each morning I face her window and pray that our love can be

Is Mecca (Mecca, Mecca, Mecca) Mecca (Mecca, Mecca) to me-e-e-e-e-e.
@ Cal
Thanks……..now it’s a neat song again.

I wonder what the lefties (and those on the Beltway right)are going to do if Ron Paul not only wins Iowa, but he wins the election? And he very well might just do that!!
Personalty bas a Christian I don’t take this stuff seriously. For those who do, this may be interesting.
From my point of view you don’t need props to know God.

“Power blackout risk could grow, Toronto Hydro workers warn”
“A 28-hour power outage in a Scarborough neighbourhood this week could become the norm throughout Toronto, unions representing Toronto Hydro workers are warning.
They say a yet-to-be released ruling by the Ontario Energy Board risks slashing Toronto Hydro’s budget for renewing its aging system by two-thirds.
And that, they say, will lead to an increasingly unreliable power system — a conclusion that Toronto Hydro doesn’t disagree with.
“We’re seeing neighbourhoods that are getting 12, 18 outages a year,” Toronto Hydro vice-president Blair Peberdy said.
Some are like the failure in an underground cable in the Finch and Neilsen Rd. area earlier this week.”

Private or home schooling is the only way out. If you read page 17 on staff, they recommend hireing gay and lesbian teachers as being the way to go. It looks like the gay movement has hyjacked the whole curriculum.
Black Mamba, I was in the Comox Valley, Vancouver Island, a couple of months ago and read an article in a local paper about School District 71’s intent to teach and not allow intolerance toward the various gender identities. On the list was ‘two-spirit’…I’d never heard of that, and had to do a Google search to find out what ‘two-spirit’ means. Is the motivation to completely CONFUSE elementary school children? To warp their little minds? The BC Teachers’ Union has clout and influence it should not have. Where are the parents on this?

France: Muslim Woman Fined for Driving while Wearing a Burqa
By Elad Benari, Canada
A Muslim woman has been fined in France for driving while wearing a burqa, the British Daily Mail reported on Friday.
According to the report, the reason given for the fine is that the garment “reduced her field of vision.”
The woman was handed an on-the-spot fine under article 412-6 of the French highway code, which states: “Field of vision must not be restricted by either passengers, objects being transported or by the position of non-transparent objects on the windows,” the report said.
The woman was also told she was in breach of the country’s burqa ban which went into effect last April. Violators of the ban face a fine of €150 and a compulsory course reminiscent of courses for recidivist traffic violators.
Police Spokesman Laurent Dufour told the Daily Mail, “The officer who stopped her said she was driving hesitantly and clearly could not see properly.”
He added, “Looking out through a narrow slit in the fabric is as dangerous as driving while eating a sandwich, smoking or with an iced-up windscreen.”
France was the first country in Europe to outlaw Muslim headgear that hides the face. A parliamentary committee in Belgium later voted to ban the burqa as well. Italy has also drafted a similar law.

Fisker Recalling 239 Karma Plug-In Hybrids for Fire Hazard
By CHRISTOPHER JENSEN
The 2012 Fisker Karma.Fisker AutomotiveThe 2012 Fisker Karma.
Fisker Automotive is recalling all 239 of its 2012 Karma luxury plug-in hybrid cars because of a fire hazard, according to a report filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Prices on the 2012 model start at $103,000, including the destination charge.
In a report filed recently on the agency’s Web site, Fisker said some hose clamps were not properly positioned, which could allow a coolant leak. “If coolant enters the battery compartment an electrical short could possibly occur, causing a thermal event within the battery, including a possible fire in the worse case,” the company told the safety agency.
Fisker said the problem was discovered on Dec. 16, when workers at the Valmet Automotive assembly plant in Finland noticed coolant dripping. Fisker said it was not aware of any consumer complaints, warranty claims or “any other reports related to this condition.” It said fewer than 50 vehicles were in the hands of consumers.
Under federal regulations dealers may not sell the remaining new models until the recall is completed.
Happy new years! Keep buying gold and keep the powder dry. Trust me 2012 will be a big year. More awesome huge moves from the CPC and continued decay down south and Europe descending into fascism. BTW Ron Paul is a nut job that’s why if he wins Iowa it won’t matter. 2013 Romney takes office.

looks like there was time for one more gov’t screw-up before the year ends…
Former prime minister Paul Martin has been appointed a companion of the Order of Canada, the governor general’s office announced Friday.
Martin is one of 66 new appointments to the Order announced Friday. He has been named a companion — the Order’s highest honour, which “recognizes a lifetime of outstanding achievement and merit of the highest degree.”
Gov. Gen. David Johnston announced the appointees in a press release Friday. Twenty-eight people have been named officers of the Order of Canada, and 37 have been named members of the Order. The recipients will be honoured with their insignia at a ceremony to take place at an as-yet unnamed date.
