    Michelle Bachman exhibited classic poise….and I haven’t watched Kimmel since….
    Letterman….not since he did that stupid Sierra-Hotel-Oscar-Tango about Sarah Palin’s daughter.
    To err is to be human and to forgive is to be devine….I admit to being human but divine I ain’t. A pox on letterman’s house…..Kimmel’s too.

  9. Terry Anderson: Have you such little faith in Israel, our staunch ally of industrious hardworking people, surrounded by savages? We all love Israel and have great faith in their ability to defend themselves with their arsenal of nuclear weapons. Moot discussion, really, since, after all, we only give them about $2 billion directly every year. We need to cut a LOT more than that, and logical people would advocate we stop funding all of Israel’s neighbors, who happen to hate her, and also happen to receive a LOT more money than Isreal’s measly $2 billion pittance: UAE, Bahrain, Iraq, Saudi, Egypt, Kuwait, etc.

  11. Terry Anderson: be smart. Worry about the USA *paying* Israel’s neighbours to hate her. Worry about the USA’s $50 trillion debt and unpaid liabilities; worry about the Democrats’ plan for $2.6 trillion in revenues and $3.7 trillion in spending for the 2012 fiscal year, or the Republicans’ plan for $2.5 trillion in revenues and $3.5 trillion in spending. Worry about the USA collapsing, as Rome did.
    Oh, and if you think ‘protecting Israel’ is a conservative virtue, then I have some Enron shares to sell you. 90% of Jews are Dems in both houses:

    Weekly Standard: full coverage of Ron Paul’s racism, bigotry, anti-semitism, conspiracy lunacy in those newsletters under his name, which evidently netted him $1 million in a single year in the early 90s. His continuing appearances on flat-out NUTJOB Alex Jones’s radio show.
    I am a devout amateur student of Austrian economics. It kills me that Ron Paul is the putative austro-libertarian representative. Lou Rockwell must be NUTS.
    I strongly suspect that RP’s understanding of monetary and economic matters (witness his question of Bernanke: is gold money?) is superficial at best.
    Recent epiphany: RP doesn’t understand monetary matters. The real driving force behind his anti-Fed stance (which I share for different reasons) is his jew-hatred; banks as central to the “world wide Jewish conspiracy (TM)”.
    Finally, be clear that a lot of Ron Paul supporters (including a former friend who is cheering Obama AND Ron Paul at the same time!) are NOT Republicans — will vote Dem when the time comes.
    DO NOT BE FOOLED BY RON PAUL who has a decent chance of destroying the Repub Party and zero chance of becoming President of the USA. Zero.

    This is a US election, not an Isreali one. It’s about time, after billions upon billions poured into both Israel and surrounding countries on behalf of Israel, that Israel learn to fend for itself withouth North American tax dollars. We’ll help if there are problems, sure, but how much free money is enough?
    Besides, the US is broke. It’s time they tended to their own business.

    On topic: Why oh why do Republicans go on uber-liberal talk shows. Just look at Letterman’s opening body language. It’s all there.
    You’re COOL or you’re not. Period. There’s nothing more pathetic than an uncool person trying to be cool. Trying to hang with the “cool kidz”. Romney is terminally UNCOOL as are all the other Repub candidates. Only very COOL or very SHREWD cons/libertarians should appear.
    It’s really true isn’t it: Repubs = The Stupid Party.

    I personally wouldn’t want Ron Paul as president, he’s not tough enough. He makes a fantastic congressman and I’d like to see him as House Leader.
    The MSM stories/ rumours & gossip are just that. They have demonized and mischaracterized the man to no end, because that is what they do and his doesn’t represent their agenda’s.
    On the other hand he would make a better President than any of the offerings Rep or Dem today. That’s not saying much, but he’s the best of the bunch with American individual & public interests in mind to be sure.

    Well, I don’t think good queen Liz would relish being included in Dem based political smears. 😉
    However, would that be the same Rothschild that Earth Charter co-author and illuminist, Mr. Maurice Strong introduced his friend, Edmund de Rothschild, at the 1987 UN World Wilderness Confab, to announce that CO2 was the cause of man-made global warming and that he (Edmund de Rothschild) would open a bank to issue credit toward fighting it? You mean that Rothschild?
    Nawwwwwww that can be explained away with the “coincidence theory”.

YES, Revnant Dream, Ron Paul is a meshuggenah as are earnest conservatives who buy his schtick and who ignore all those conspiracy-laced newsletters, his virulent jew (and black) hatred and his Dances with Troofers and whackjobs like Alex Jones. Conservatives ignoring this stuff will be no better than the liberals ignoring Pastor Wright and Billie Ayers and other commies.

    This term covers anybody you consider nuts. When you call someone a meshuggenah, you’re saying he/she’s beyond stupid, but you’re saying it in a playful and colloquial way. A man sees John Gotti about to park his car in a space, and then decides to beat him to it. That’s a real meshuggenah.
    PLUS, not only has he no administrative experience, he has zero leadership qualities. It doesn’t matter what worthy ideas he has, he has zero ability to sell them. And his economic ideas need HARD SELL.

  21. Let’s be realistic here. Newt was bound to balance-out considering the focus, and Ro.P can’t win the GOP nomination even if he wins Iowa. In fact, I expect Ro.P’s numbers to drop before Jan 3 as a Ro.P victory will do damage to Iowa’s standing in the GOP nomination process, and I believe Iowans are very cognizant of their place in American electoral politics.
    Most of the votes(Caucuses and Primaries) in the new year are of a proportional type; therefore, it will take a sustained run in the winter by whichever candidate wins the nomination. The way the race is shaping-up is a two man heat between NG & MR. I think the potential for a third candidate to crack the top tier is fading as no one candidate benefited more from Newt’s drop in the polls. In other words, if we saw MB or Ri.P’s numbers bounce by 10 or more points as Newt dropped, then perhaps we might see a third candidate crack the top tier.
    As it stands right now, if the Iowa Caucus finishes with some combination of NG, MR & Ro.P to win, place & show; then I expect that the rest of the candidates are finished. I believe the only realistic way to the nomination for any of the tier two candidates is to finish in the top 3 in Iowa, else none of them will be around for the South Carolina vote I suspect.
    Interestingly enough, it seems that the votes thrown-away by the Paul supporters in Iowa, are the very votes that will eliminate the more conservative candidates. Such are the woes of voting for those that are unelectable.

    Newt and Mitt ARE the best candidates for the GOP nomination, so it is good the primaries are shaping-up as they are, and no amount of negative rhetoric from second tier candidates will change this.
    Here is a short list of what I view are the flaws of the other candidates(we all know Newt’s and Mitt’s), which are the reasons they are all polling low today IMO.
    Michelle Bachmann: Although intelligent and articulate, Pawlenty was correct that MB although a fighter, is a losing fighter time and time again. She has no track record of significant legislating. We don’t need another Obama! Also, MB’s depth of knowledge regarding numerous topics is specious at best. She’s “talk’n aloud and say’n nothing” more often than not. She’s done naught by attack other candidates and parrot their policy platforms. Relatively speaking(relative to the other GOP candidates) she’s simply not knowledgeable enough. Also, she’s not been a governor.
    Rick Perry: Obviously RPs major fault is his inability to articulate his views, nor his executive record in Texas. He is a very weak communicator in the election where communication is king. Furthermore, his frame of reference for GOP Talking Points is very weak. He was very ineffective in supporting his AGW Denier views. As a GOP supporter, I was very disappointed in his explanation for disagreeing with AGW, and I was embarrassed to think he was representing us on this topic. RP needs more time to brush-up his foreign policy credentials IMO. Perhaps a cabinet position in the future.
    Rick Santorum: At a glance, RS appears to be the perfect GOP candidate. He’s got experience and expertise. His glaring weaknesses IMO is his unPresidential demeanor. He has a bad habit of rolling his eyes when he disagrees, he interrupts people when he disagrees, and he talks under his breath to berate those he disagrees with; like a child. IMO RS potentially is the best candidate on stage; but, he’s too unpolished today to challenge the ONE; and his strengths (foreign policy) are not at the top of the voters’ minds today.
    John Huntsman: He’s a strong candidate, but has alienated himself from the GOP base by blatantly attempting to pander to independents and Dems. Also, for some odd reason, absolutely nothing he says manages to get any traction with GOP voters. His policy platform looks good, but I think he can’t get past his being “type casted” as a liberal by the GOP voters.
    Ron Paul: Ron Paul.
    Wildcard: Calling Sarah Palin – We need you now!
    As it stands today, only Newt and Mitt are ready, and capable to take-on the One. I will be pleased with either. I’ve got good money that says if Sarah Palin get’s in soon… it’s hers! U can do it Sarah!

  24. I’ve seen a lot of negative stuff about Gingrich lately, like that he wants (or wanted in the past) to spend tax money on all kinds of crazy schemes. It’s almost like he would be a social conservative’s dream but an economic conservative’s nightmare. In other words, the worst of both worlds.
    Offhand I’d have to say: too bad Paul Ryan isn’t running.

  25. Ron Paul, like most war vets (who have actually fought in a war) is not a lover of warfare for war’s sake. Ron Paul is a vet – Romney and Newt ran away to France to ‘study’ while other not so wealthy American men/boys died in Viet Nam fighting a war that President Johnson chose to lose. Ron Paul and Rick Perry are the only two men on that Republican slate who actually served in the Armed Forces. The hawks (Mitt and Newt) are men who sat out the war studying in France (draft dodgers)!
    Ron Paul does not hate Israel but he does not like blood money – it is nationality neutral: the ‘elites’ are from all nationalities and races – they use us as pawns and slaughter us in wars to keep us weak: all that stands in their quest for total control of earth is the American Constitution. Ron Paul is the Champion of the Constitution – and he plans to force Congress to make declaration of war decisions. What is not to like? The real soldiers of America support Ron Paul above all others (including the ‘present’ President) combined. Ron Paul is my pick because he actually is concerned about America and Americans – Rick Perry is my second choice. I am not an ‘elite’.
