  1. Clinton makes the even more everyone assumption that because all of those engaged in the same business face the same increase in costs everyone stays employed at the same level. This ignores the fact that higher costs would mean less consumption and thus less business and fewer workers. A two percent increase in cost across the board would – a conservative number – would ultimately mean a two percent rise in unemployment. But it doesn’t stop there. More unemployed means fewer people with the means to buy pizzas meaning fewer sales meaning fewer workers meaning more unemployment and around again.

  2. …and that boys and girls is why we have moved away from real math education. Even the First Black President couldn’t talk his way out of trouble once the numbers (from an actual small business owner)started to disprove his point.

  3. … and keep in mind, that for whatever his faults may be, Bill earned his degrees. I’d love to see Herman Cain go one on one with the current idiot in chief.

  4. a real world person debates, and wipes the floor with, a professional politician, who smoked butt didn’t inhale!!!
Cain is impressive, and now I see why he has risen in the pol standings

  5. Cain earned his batchelor’s degree in mathematics, and Slick Willie thought he’d pull a fast one by replying to Cain with his own – mock- appeal to computation. It’s comical how quickly he abandoned his own argument.

  6. Quite apart from Cain wiping the floor with Clinton what I find fascinating is the underlying assumptions on Clinton’s part. Clinton believes that government is good and an instrument of change towards good. What Clinton and every other progressive I have ever talked to fails to see is the unintended consequences of a given action. In this case Clinton assumes that the good of giving everyone health insurance has no repercussions down the line. Cain simply points out that there are real consequences to ill conceived idea(l)s. Were that it is possible for progressives everywhere to understand that money is an expression of value. You can’t simply increase amount of money by government fiat without devaluing the money by a corresponding amount. Insuring all the part time pizza joint employees will simply raise the price of pizza which will cut the consumption of pizza which will result in fewer pizza joints and pizza joint employees. The number of insured will not increase but the number of unemployed certainly will increase.

  7. A real town hall debate…Wow! Those were the days.
Unlike Barry’s latest town hall which included a guy who demanded that the Prez raises his taxes…No kidding.
Herman Cain is a promising candidate…I’m keeping tabs on him for now. He might just be the ticket for a smoother transition as commander in chief with the whole historical 1st African American POTUS thingy if you catch my drift.
Cain might just be the first black President that could put a stake through the victimhood industry that guys like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton became rich from and put to rest once and for all this malignancy which Obama in fact, seems to be it’s last flag bearer. Rip up the bogus race card and he could also make blacks Americans believe in themselves like MLK could do.
Cain is also wise to align himself with the TEA party for the same reasons and for the fact he truly has no nonsense Conservative values.
Cain is a true American. Obama is not.

  8. What a smart-ass Clintstone is. Say anything for a laugh to get out of the obvious embarrassment/corner that he had painted himself into.
Raise the price of pizza indeed!! Don’t you just want to punch him?
This spoken by the typical left-wing lifelong politician that has never run as much as a lemonade stand.

  9. In this clip, Slick Willy is just Obama 0.5. Who knows whether anything Clinton said is remotely valid or holds water. But he’s a good snake oil salesman, so it all “sounds good”.
Note the expression of the woman at 1:30. I have little doubt that sycophants/drones like her make up a good percentage of Obama’s base today.

  10. Could very well see the first REAL black president with regards to
    A) Being fully black and not mulato or a mix of other races and ..
B)Being a real patriotic american president that understands america and how it works ,
c)Eanring his spot as POTUS by merit and not through affirmatic action , and we all know if he were a lefty they would be pushing full speed ahead to have him as POTUS , but becasue he is a
    A)Republican
    b)TAXPAYER
    C)Private citizen
    D)Non politician ever
    E)Conservative.
The left wing media will reveal it’s true face in this campaign especially by unleashing the dogs on him watxch how vicious they get , you thought they hated palin wait till the main stream media get ahold of him .
I wish cain and palin , or cain and bachmann , or christie and cain or cain and christie …something like that …man america would have a good shot ot retaining or getting back it’s american exeptionalism.

  11. Herman Cain is sound good
but he had cancer and he is 65 old
In 2006, Cain was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer in both his colon and his liver.
he is gospel singer like Layton or love music too.
    He remind me
    another
    Jack Layton
not has time to do anything as new leader of opposition
    as result of cancer
investing in new President who has illness background is big risk for US
he can be go to Senate because he talk nice and look nice person
    but for presidency
    No….
Too many new immigrant to US and Canada:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umDr0mPuyQc&feature=related
he is good for Senate member because of his experince and busines background
    or simply
    become God gospel singer
    http://dailycaller.com/2011/07/11/herman-cains-gospel-album-is-out/

  12. I’d forgotten what a huckster Clinton is. “Ahm a satidfahed customer”, and asking Cain to send him his numbers, cause Bill’s his buddy.
Somehow I’m weirdly fond of that creep. And apparently Cain can really count, can’t he? Very impressive.

  13. BTW, I realized as I pressed “post” that that might have come off as flippant. I’m no math whizz, so I always just say “I can’t count”. (I wonder if Bill was really clueless about those numbers or was just peddling snake-oil?) I really find Cain very impressive. Of course, building a highly successful business in a very crowded market-niche isn’t as hard as community organizing or anything, but still…

  14. What business men such as Herman Cain do understand and lawyers and law makers and politician such as Clinton and Obama does not understand is this:
some one has money give to saving or stock or some one else to invest it
    Now
some has money and brain and ideas for busienss put time for new investment to gain profit over his money
no smart busines men spend all their money or go high risk to put all cards and money on table
    simply because
    business has risk of failur
business has new competitor that can cause some month business get slow or lost
if business people when they gain profit
all government ask them to pay tax or big tax if you make more money
NOw if they lost do government share their lost too?
    off course not
    maximum saying
go apply for bankrupcy and we let you live with no profit out harsh time
risk of all run business is harsh time and
    all hidden cost
    all numbers
    all spending verses profitabilty
every penny count every percentage is under microscope
    why?
because profit of buisiness men is not FIXED ratio and profitability is NOT built for ever and not have bank or government guarnetee behind it in hard time why some one do big risk and gamble for thier own money for win or loose
language of business men and government are not understood
because sometime government when they see some profitable business some crook likes or try to steal that ideas and pass to bigger company or their frend buisiness men too
that I saw several time illegal criminal competition
run business is like run country is difficult job

  15. An impressive man. I watched his appearance on Leno (at Real Clear Politics). His age and health will soon be the latest whipping post for the media as his poll numbers go up (once they get over Christie’s girth see http://takimag.com/#axzz1Ze74l2lu).
Interestingly age and health do not seem to be concerns with VPs. Witness Cheney. I think Cain as a VP candidate would be powerful addition to the Republican ticket. He would certainly wipe the walls with Biden in a debate.

  16. by GYM @ 2:11 – “a real world person debates, and wipes the floor with, a professional politician, who smoked butt didn’t inhale!!!”
Considering what Bill occasionally used in place of a humidor, would you inhale one of his cigars?
Seriously though, if Cain has a cancer issue (unconfirmed by me) then I can see him falling under the same scrutiny as John McCain (must be a Cain thing…). A lot of people used that as an excuse NOT to vote McCain in 2008. That, as well as his age.
It always amazed me that societies for years have looked to the elders for advice and guidance due to their wisdom – obviously accumulated over a long series of life experiences. Now, I suppose people think that Wisdom 101 is part of a BA or something. Weird times we live in.

  17. Saw this some time ago, and it was one of the first things to make me really like Cain.
Still do, it is just a question of who else you would want on the ticket.
    Christie? Not likely
    Rubio..?

  18. What must be done? I don’t know and am perplexed about which one of the crop of GOP candidates would be the exceptional choice our American neighbours and friends need, as Paul says, to bring back “American exceptionalism”. There seems to be problems with each candidate, as defined by MSM, and no one is shining very brightly.
I do lean towards Herman Cain at the moment. The long term financial health of the US precludes a RINO.
Hopefully the American national fiber has not deteriorated to the point of no return and they are able to come back to their senses and elect a person, male or female, black or white or whatever, to bring back their country from sliding into 2nd rate status.

  19. Can’t you just raise your prices? Can’t we just raise taxes a bit more? If we just force everyone to use the right kind of light bulbs, won’t it benefit the environment. These people make me sick.
I am very impressed with Cain.

  20. Speaking of Herman Cain, his communications director just resigned. I have no idea whether this is significant; what interested me was the short comments thread under the piece. CNN, so most of the commenters are liberals and identify themselves as such. I was struck by how, well, racist quite a few of the posts were. (Many of these people also appear to have suffered brain injuries, but that’s something else.)

These folks pretty much hate everybody and a black man is little more than a token to “prove” they haven’t worked to ruin President Obama’s initiatives because they are racists. Right. Just look at the photos of any Tea Party gathering – angry white bigots who find something to hate in every aspect of our government. They hate Michelle Obama… how could that be?”

And a lot of them keep going on about black walnuts for some reason.

  21. The trick Clinton always plays is that he has a little more knowledge on most subjects than most people, and thus *appears* to be very knowledgeable. However when Clinton encounters someone who actually knows a subject well, then the shallow depth of his knowledge quickly becomes apparent.
Good for Cain for exposing Clinton as nothing other than a smooth talker.

  22. Kate/Editor/Moderator note: I always appreciate *some kind* of description to go with a video link.
Otherwise I’m not going to devote any of my precious time watching Bill Clinton.
The Urban Dictionary defines “slyt” as, “From metafilter, this is an acronym for Single Link You Tube, meaning the writer is lazy and just wants to post one link to youtube.”
    http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=slyt
And no, I’m not claiming that Cjunk is lazy.

Thanks for the link. Checked it out and the left wing nuts haven’t changed much. All insults with no substance. Decided to look at their list of videos and pulled up one Hillery Clinton. She has 68% or 69% approval rating. Kind of makes a person wonder if they aren’t going to pull the Russian switcharoo down there.

  24. Black Mamba asked? And a lot of them keep going on about black walnuts for some reason.

He says the black walnut joke @ 322 in interview with J Leno.

  25. Switcheroo attempt almost guaranteed, except the anointed one may not want to go too quickly. Much to the dismay of the clintonesque wing of the leftard party.
Obambi may think he has a chance. After all he still has his dirty tricks campaign, race baiting strategy, class warfare strategy, SEIU goon squads, ACORN reincarnate fraudulent vote factory, MSM useful idiots army, and last but not least, a slew of billionaires behind him.
Unless, whoa Nellie! Something untoward befalls our hero… My oh my, and they would even be brazen enough to engineer it so as to blame it on the tea party somehow. With a Jack Ruby of our day they could make it iron clad. MSM will do the rest.
Instant sainthood for the martyr that will symbolically lead the donkey parade, and Billary rides in on an emotionally charged landslide.
Like a fine Hollyweird script scenario, you can almost hear them make the pitch.
Eight more years of rose tinted Marxism follows, and we’re toast as a competitive, productive, beneficial civilization.

  26. Sorry everyone but Cain is wrong in this exchange and Clinton was correct. Cain tries to claim that his healthcare costs would rise to 16% of payroll. Thawed completely wrong. As Clinton points out, the plan capped employer expenses at 7.9% of payroll. What’s more that cap was the high end used for companies whose average wages were over $24,000/year. Godfather Pizza’s average wages were well under $24,000 and so it’s cap would have been below 7.9% even (as Clinton points out). Cain Di’s subsequently send the numbers to Clinton and conceded the 7.9% cap ( even though he should have conceded an even lower cap). With that erroneously used highest cap, Cain’s expenses would have gone up $1.6 million, or abou 1.8% of Cain’s total expenses of $85 million. Clinton was right, Cain had his facts and numbers totally wrong. All this video proves is that Cain can make it sounds likeheknows what he’s talking about when he really doesn’t.
