France did the right thing by baning Muslims blocking public streets for prayer which was a political act rather than a religious one. AFP – Saudi King Abdullah announced on Sunday he was giving women the right to vote and run in municipal elections, the only public polls in the ultra-conservative Gulf kingdom.
He also announced that women would have the right to join the all-appointed Shura (consultative) Council, in an address opening a new term of the council.

I’ve been to too many Muslim countries to remember throughout all seasons of the year. For example, I have never met a Muslim abroad who was offended by the term Merry Christmas, either given or received. Never. Many Muslim shopping malls and shops play Xmas carols and decorate for the occasion from North Africa, through the Middle East to every Muslim nation in South East Asia. Not all but many.
How bad can Islam be when women now get to vote in Saudi Arabia?
