Just look in your Times Atlas Of The World;
“We do not know why this error has occurred, but it is regrettable that the claimed drastic reduction in the extent of ice in Greenland has created headline news around the world.
“There is to our knowledge no support for this claim in the published scientific literature.”
Oops.

“We do not know why this error has occurred, but it is regrettable that the claimed drastic reduction in the extent of ice in Greenland has created headline news around the world.”
The fact that the falsified map of the ice-loss made headline news around the world likely explains why the “error” occurred.
**”We do not know why this error has occurred, but it is regrettable that the claimed drastic reduction in the extent of ice in Greenland has created headline news around the world.”**
Well I know why this error occured. The alarmists have been blatently lying for years and getting away with it cause the Lame Stream Media is on side. That’s why!!
Rogue trader in $38.6 billion ‘green jobs’ fraud
A rogue trader at one of the world’s largest banks (USA Inc., second in economic power only to China Inc.) has been exposed as the biggest fraudster in the history of mankind. The fraud – conservatively estimated at $38.6 billion, though others believe it could be at least 20 times bigger once his secret trading accounts in a file mysteriously marked “Stimulus Package” are fully investigated – comfortably exceeds the paltry $2.3 billion losses run up by UBS trader Kweku Adoboli.

Scare quotes desereved there.
Propaganda isn’t an error, it is planned.
Getting sloppy so that the propaganda message is recognized as propaganda is an error in execution.
People don’t like to be played.
Th error was in being artless enough to let them know they were being played.
an other one of Rupert Murdocs lefty moves????
A cynic might wonder if the person in a position
to make such a “mistake” was suitably “rewarded”.
Takes a while before kids learn to stay inside the lines when they colour with crayons. It’s a perception thing.
One of Murdoch’s rags, they must of hacked into Al Gore’s cell phone to get the information….
Looking at the price of the atlas (~$240), then at the fact that the ‘environmental changes’ seem to be one of their main motivations for publishing an updated version, one has to wonder if it was The Times who had the primary financial motive for falsifying the data.
How do you expect them to sell such an expensive book if it isn’t full of eco-hysteria scare stories?
People want their money’s worth and the environmental industry understands how to market their message.
Money wasted-
$240 dollars for an Atlas of the World that needs coloring?

could have bought a new Canadian Kindle 3G for only $239.

Anyone know where the comment button is on this thing?
“There is to our knowledge no support for this claim in the published scientific literature.”
– well at least no support outside the whoring junk science syndicate
One glaring error in the report on Greenland error is the claim that the ice sheets falling off Antarctica is the result of global warming. Ice sheets fall off of Antarctica whether it is warming, cooling or staying the same.
“This is concrete evidence of how climate change is altering the face of the planet forever – and doing so at an alarming and accelerating rate.”
One would think someone involved in producing an Atlas would be a geographer. I think a geographer ought to know that the face of the planet is constantly changing with or without “climate change”.
The $240 book is a blatant propaganda piece.
looks like they may have cheaped out and used wikipedia as the source.

“The break-up of some Antarctic ice shelves due to climate change, the shrinking of inland waters such as the Dead and Aral Seas, and the drying up of rivers such as the Colorado River are all documented.”
I watched documentaries years ago that addressed the Aral Sea problem .. It was clearly a matter of Soviet mismanagement of the tributaries being syphoned off by farmers who were trying to farm where there was no rain They sucked the Aral dry over time. They also unleashed a toxic dust as the famers chemicals dried into the now bare sandy bottom of the Aral. The wind blows it around and the peasants breath it and get sick … babies die. Who cares it’s all the for greater of feeding good communists. And by the by …. the Aral Sea fishing industry … of course …. was destroyed.
The same for the Colorado River it was simply being syphoned off at many points along it’s way to the Pacific. There was little left at that point.
These distortions have nothing to do with climate, but rather by uncontrolled population growth and water use. The Ice shelves … well they grow and shrink in a patter we don’t understand … not a big deal.
if you don’t believe in global warming…. it’s probably because you’re a creationist nutter.

I am Atheist Conservative. In that special category of human, we do not ‘believe’ in things … we prefer facts and proof that we can trust and deal with.
So far there is no proof of anything but normal fluctuations in the earth’s climate and weather systems.
You left win nutters who ‘believe’ in what Al Gore tells you along with his ‘bought off’ pseudo scientists are the one’s who need to get real.
if you believe in global warming…. it’s probably because you’re a global warming nutter.
Ten years from now, when the error will be forgotten, a new scare will be out that the world is freezing up. That will be more or less difference between the now published map in error and future corrected map.
You understand that the scientologists must eat and make themselves rich, for that reason, there will be global cooling.
As it is currently, as introduced in another post, the scientologist’s models don’t agree with real life. The real life of course is wrong, the artificial creation by wise guys is right.
They know, they really really know.
Yep, and when the scare is about the world freezing up you can bet the farm that it will be due to human activities and that we will need to funnel a boatload of money to one world government who will want to regulate us into the dark ages. Somewhat like today but with a slight tweeking.
This is fraud, pure and simple.
The bright side is that it’s extremely difficult to regain a customer once you’ve lost that customers confidence in your product or service. The short sightedness of many of these media organizations and their desire for short-term gains will be far exceeded by the long-term consequences of their unprofessional behavior. Seriously, it’s like none of these folks have heard of the interweb!!! We don’t need your stinkin book! So those of us that would like a current Atlas can do without, if need be.
Finally, how is it that formerly successful businesses and their execs could be so hoodwinked into the Utopian dream that they thought THEY would be take care of when the crap hit the fan? I get that they thought if they backed the right horse they could get inside money forever; but like Andre 3000 said “forever is a very long time”. Nothing lasts forever, especially a scam.
There’s ‘global warming’and then there’s ‘global worming’.This atlas falls in the latter category.
The left lives for deception. Its their only medium. How else can you pevert reality for a message that defies logic or reason?
Could be cotton fields!
