These brothers in arms, whether they come from the urban jungles of New York, the farmlands of Saskatchewan, or the pastoral villages of Wales, have all become the 9/11 Generation. What many fail to recognize is that in the United States at least, this warrior generation is beginning just now to enter the political arena at home … and like the soldiers of the First and Second World Wars, it will have a profound effect on the direction of the nation.

Thank God.
Tomorrow is a special day. Here is how are national broadcaster chooses to mark it:

Gosh Enright is a ponce. A bow tie AND owl glasses? Is Hogwarts looking for another profeesor?
I hope you’re right, Cjunk but I’m skeptical. Sooooo many Americans appear to be on the handout train of the Democrats. It’ll be amazing if the Republicans can break that lock-hold the Democrats have been using for decades.
As for Michael Enright, I can barely think of another Canadian who H-A-T-E-S conservatives, Conservatives, and Republicans more than him. He is an absolute disgrace to our nation and to our airwaves, be they public or private.
How nice.
Funny thing though, is that all this recruiting to save the nation seems to be overwhelmingly one demographic of the Canadian population. The returning photos of the dead certainly reflect that fact. Most definitely not a CBC representation of the country’s demographics by any means, no?
The point?
Well “Brothers in Arm’s” seems to be the same ol club around here. The rest obviously don’t give a flying f*ck, yet are they not the ones supposedly feeling left out and disenfranchised, ready to run amok for lack of respect or whatever? 9/11 generation? Take a look……

It is great to see the next generation taking and carrying the torch for all of us who have served in one capacity or another in the past. God bless your son and the others.
One of my nephews, who has been in the Canadian Army as a firefighter for a number of years, transferred to the Canadian Air Force and served as a firefighter in Afghanistan for one term. When he came home from Afghanistan as soon as his enlistment term was up he quit and he will not talk about what happened over there, not even to his father. He is a big fellow and full of fun, but he has changed. Most people seem to be able to deal with what they see and experience, but he apparently can not. I have not seen him as he now lives in Cold Lake, Alberta. I fell sorry for him and hope that he can get the help he needs.
Interesting post by Cjunk. I had never really considered the effects of 9/11 on the more cerebral of our youth. I think it’s a positive sign, however sad and tragic the motivation.
Ken (Kulak) – Godspeed to your nephew. I wish him only the best.
Here’s the breakdown..the CF is predominately comprised of rural white men. The big cities are the repository of every other colour of the rainbow.
One day, Canada will be two solitudes, not of French and English, but of rural white folks who believe in God, King and country ( not to mention western values and democracy)and those of non European stock in large urban centers
The cities? They will not represent the old Canada and will actively oppose it when the demographics reach 60%+ non white.
In my mind, we are on the path to a civil war in Canada along these divides.
Something to mull over..when the last reserves of young white men are tapped out for the CF, who comprises our armed forces? Immigrants, whose ideas and values are anathema to ours, at the present time?
Will an immigrant based armed forces comprised of non whites rebel at being sent to do the bidding of the govt if it conflicts with their values, religion or ties? Or will the govt already be comprised of those who support their values?
Would this govt and armed forces be actively used against the remaining rural white population who disagrees with them?
Don’t think it can’t happen with the demographics we now see in our land.
Ken (Kulak): May your nephew find the peace he needs to become a whole person again.
If each one of us say a prayer as we read your comment, he will surely feel the love and peace our Lord provides.
Philippians 4:17 – And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Others experience may vary, but in my time in the army, I never met another person from Toronto (suburban Toronto, but still TO to people who aren’t from around there), but half my platoon was from Cape Breton. The handful of Black people I met were all old stock Nova Scotians. That was going on twenty years ago so it might be different now. However, what didn’t help was the fact that like all government departments the army was treated like a make work project for people from “disadvantaged” areas, so soldiers were recruited disproportionatly from eastern Canada and rural areas deliberatly.
It seems the Democrats and the Obamanation do recognize the brothers in arms….and fear them.
Napolotano listed returning service men as a major, security risk….
Despite the furor over ballets being mailed late to overseas, deployed serivce personel, during the 2008 election, , …it happened again…so that the absentee service vote was not counted.
Islam can be destroyed non-violently.
That article is hilarious 🙂
