Flash mobs like the one robbing the convenience store are a great opportunity for law enforcement: surround the store with armed officers, call in a few paddy wagons, and voilà, you have just arrested 30 thieves in one pass. So much easier than responding to thirty calls.

It’s entirely plausible that any or all of the of 30 detainees(assuming they were arrested) could claim that they as an individual were only in the store to shop and that they were innocent of any wrong doing.
Really, you have to take how our court systems operate into account and what the blowback on the store or store employee will be.
The store pictured in the video is a 7-11 and their franchise policy is to give any criminals what they want with zero resistance.

It’s about time that people started taking a very hard line with criminals and a bunch of dead members of a flash mob will probably end this practice. In the US at least, when one is attacked by multiple people, use of deadly force is seen as totally appropriate by the courts. Whether it would be seen the same way in Canada is another matter, but I’d rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6.
What wouldn’t surprise me is if this phenomenon resulted in restrictions on cell phone use as statists are always itching for any means that can increase their control of sheeple. One thing that just occurred to me is whether BART would be liable if a passenger on the train suffered an MI and no-one would have been able to dial 911 for assistance as cell phone service was disabled.
The individuals who make up flash mobs are involved in a criminal conspiracy and there are already laws regarding criminal conspiracies. It would take more police work to actually enforce those laws against these criminals than to just flip an off switch for a section of the cell phone network.
Couldn’t believe some of the responses of moronic people in Philadelphia to what seemed to be a completely reasonable policy by the mayor except I’ll never support curfews. What is really needed is individual responsibility and this is non-existent in the welfare classes. The facts are, gun bans do not work and black populations will riot and loot cities if they feel that government entitlements are being reduced. They seem to only need an excuse to riot based on some perceived injustice to another black person somewhere else within the country. Although at times it seems simply a hurricane will do without the specific injustice as with Katrina, or the need for the latest fashions or late night sweet tooth as with the flash mob epidemic.
Obviously two very dangerous and volatile ingredients for a western city are gun bans + many black people. The highest crime rate cities in the US have both, namely “Liberal city’s”, which created gun bans and attract higher volumes of black people by default through bigger welfare programs. It seems to be a reasonable assessment the world over unless there is proof to the contrary.

Cops shoot people all the time. Most deserve it, some don’t. Riots only happen when a member of an approved visible minority victim group gets shot and the papers make a fuss. Righteous shoot or no, makes no difference they still riot.
Ever notice how there’s never a riot after a Korean criminal gets shot? Or a Chinese criminal? Vietnamese? Indian? Never happens. Not approved victim groups.

Most of the armed Met London Police(Specialist Firearms Command CO19) you see in the photos these days are carrying HK MP5s, which was reportedly what Duggan was shot with.
Two shots were fired, Mark Duggan was hit once(single hit) in the chest.

Oz, truth I didn’t know the guy’s name was Duggan and I didn’t know how many rounds were fired. I couldn’t be bothered to look it up since blanks doesn’t appear to be a reality-based individual. Pure emotion and Hollywood disinformation. As usual.
However since you mention it, it is instructive that the cops had a 50% hit ratio even armed with MP-5s. I’ve fired the MP-5 at the range, in full auto my un-practiced self kept 10 rounds inside five inches at 25 yards firing off-hand standing. Semi-auto, one to two inch five round groups were effortless. Rested they all went through the same hole. I’m a pretty average shooter, that was a pretty beaten-up range gun.
It is -amazingly- difficult to shoot a man-sized target in motion, particularly in the dark. One-for-two hit ratio is pretty good, and its a testament to those guy’s training and the HK MP-5 they nailed Mr. Duggan so nice and clean.
Normal cop hit-ratio is like 10% or less and they usually spray-and-pray. Good fire discipline for the London cops. A+.
