You knew they were coming for fracking, didn’t you? Because it works, you know – and that just won’t do.

Western ingenuity. I remember a party in Calgary 40 years ago (1972ish) when Canadian Fracmaster celebrated it first million dollars in sales. I was 12 and it was my friends parents’ party.
Frac em…pressure and abrasives work.
Bambam is killing the American energy sector from all fronts.
How long before they go after farts?

“How long before they go after farts?”
Done and done….
2 EPA rulings are in the pipeline to curtail dust from agriculture and methane from cow farts…
They are not content to have their citizens peddling bicyles and shivering in the dark…famine is in the works as well.
Oh well the skys will be clear…after the eventual ceasefire…..
The air quality in China and India is abysmal. There will be sanctions against those countries, right?
Fracking has been working so well in S Texas oilfields, that experts say widespread application there could produce another ” Kuwait or Venezuela” worth of annual production of OIL. Fracking may make America completely energy independent.
If fracking isn’t stopped by the EPA, energy costs will fall so far that solar and wind power advocates will be laughed off the stage. Is there any question why the EPA has been directed by Obama to start grinding out regulations to strangle this baby in its crib?
What irony that Obama should thank Nixon (the great anti-communist) for creating this monstrosity. The EPA is the most effective weapon in Obama’s War on Prosperity where no good deed or potentially economy-saving enterprise goes unpunished.
It almost seems as if the prevailing mindset in Bambam’s circle is “are there any businesses left making real products and profits? How can we kill them?”.
Maybe I’m confused, but this sounds a lot like a 30 year old ERCB regulation, that was used to eliminate all those flares that used to light up the sky, all over Alberta. A new infrastructure, called NovaGas, was created to collect the formerly wasted energy. The details aren’t exactly the same, but the principal is very similar.
It all depends what the standards are and which emissions are to be regulated. If they are reasonable and only cover pollutants, it could provide certainty to the industry. There’s no point in jumping to conclusions until we see what the EPA is actually proposing.
I grew up over the natural gas deposit in the eastern US. I had friends who could light their water faucets on fire when fracking was just a gleam in some engineer’s eye. If they held on, I assume they are well off now. They were poor then.
Well, it’s not like high pressures and various mixtures of liquids/gasses normally occur underground. How about we use that as the basis for what humanity should be able to do, only what was done naturally?
If so then burning swamp gas means we need to develop natural gas reservoirs and the radioactive isotopes found in Niger mean than nuclear fission is a go. I’d prefer if we didn’t make more oil spills a la Fort MacMurray, though.
