I had read of the half frozen young men in the “wilds” of Ontario bush. The press seemed to down play it as seemingly some thought it was “paint ball fun”. The press found solace in the bringing in of Tim Hortons coffee for the aforsaid frozen denizens with the sleeping bags etc. I cannot think it was piping hot though.
What some Canadians do not seem to realize and I have been on the Toronto subway is this. Even an amateurish, abortive attempt at rush hour could have caused deaths and injuries in any panic. I shudder at the thought of the press of the crowd ready to shove others on those electrified tracks.
Surely people know of what happens, when a false shout of “fire” in a crowded theatre has been made. Or like situations, re night clubs etc.

The Toronto 12 were arrested in 2006. This for a subway bombing plot. A different group. They had amonium nitrate and was said to be three times the strength used in another outrage in another country.
The Toronto 18 were absolved of any subway bombing plot. They planned to do worse of course. All played down, or nearly that by the press.
