NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Embattled Rep. Anthony Weiner admitted to posting lewd photos of himself on Twitter at a Monday afternoon press conference.
While addressing the media at the Sheraton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan, Weiner made the following statement: “Last Friday night I tweeted a photograph of myself that I intended to send as direct message as part of a joke to a woman in Seattle. Once I realized I posted it to Twitter, I panicked, I took it down and said that I had been hacked. I then continued with that story to stick to that story which was a hugely regrettable mistake.”
“I am so sorry to have disrupted her life in this way. To be clear, the picture was of me and I sent it. I am deeply sorry for the pain this has caused my wife Huma and our family, and my constituents, my friends, supporters and staff. In addition over the past few years I have engaged in several inappropriate conversations conducted over Twitter, Facebook, email, and occasionally on the phone with women I have met online. I have exchanged messages and photos of an explicit nature with about six women over the last three years. For the most part, these communications took place before my marriage, though some have sadly took place after. To be clear, I have never met any of these women or have had any physical relationships at any time.”
Weiner also said he would not resign and that he did not believe that he did anything that broke the law.

Watching the media aggresively question Breitbart as if he were a criminal (the crime being reporting against an “untouchable”) was hilarious.

I hated watching Weiner cry – pfft. Whenever I saw this cocky, little Democrat give the FOX News gals a hard time it reminded me of Pat Martin – ugh.
Exactly chet. This is the way these “reporters” need to be treated. They were more serious in their questioning of Breitbart than they were with Anthony Weiner during the entire affair. Breitbart was doing their homework for them and they couldn’t bother to look into it.
That’s why I love it when one of these events occurs. It clearly shows the MSM’s blatant hypocrisy, laziness, and bias. Here’s hoping this behavior opens the eyes of more people into realizing that they can’t trust the MSM with fair and accurate reporting anymore.
Credit does need to go to Dana Bash at CNN though since she’s one of the only reporters willing to cover the story when it broke.

I have been listening to a lot of BS on various radio news programs … concerning this Weiner business.
Every time the guy opened his yap he exposed himself… in ways much more revealing than a stupid phone cam could.
This whole affair is a good thing because it makes things very clear to the voters in his district.
You can be assured that he will NOT be reelected.
And yes the MSM are stupid… lazy ….. and dishonest.

I’m (predictably) with ET. The business with Mr. Weiner and Velvet Jack is more about the reflexive cover-up than the unacceptable behavior. In these dissolute and shock proof times, getting caught with one’s pants down is almost a yawner. If either of these clowns had just said “Yeah, I did that. So?” they’d be off the big stage in two days at most.
But they never do, do they? They lie and lie and lie and LIE, never ever maning up and telling the truth except in some spasm of victimhood like the crying Weiner, the crying Spitzer. Or like Clinton and Layton, they just KEEP ON LYING.

I think this was all a conspiracy formed by late night comedians who were desperate for new material. I mean, a guy named Weiner sends a girl a picture of his junk? You can’t make this stuff up.
Bravo Mr. Breitbart! I respect your outrage and I am cheering as loud as I can for you. As said so well above by ET, chairman kaga, Ken (Kulak), The Phantom and others; this is not really about a pathetic little man sending lewd photos – this is about the lies of a congressman and his attempt to smear a citizen (Andrew) to cover up his actions. This is an outrage, the congressman should go to the jailhouse and pay heavy reparations to the wronged man (Mr. Breithbart). It is my believe that loss of all his fortune would be the worst punishment of all for congressman Weiner’s egregious wrong.
