  1. What are durable goods these days when nothing is warranted for more than one year?
Perhaps they need a new name for that category of goods and a lower price range to go along as well.
With a 3.6% drops in orders we’ll see if quality and prices improve.
I remember when a refrigerator was good for 20years, I’ve a Westinghouse freezer chest in the basement that’s just over 30years old and it works well with not a single repair.
On the flip side I’ve got a Whirlpool refrigerator which came with my newish home that broke down inside of 2 years and a water heater that’s about 6 years old that is rusting inside and probably should be replaced this summer.
I had a Black&Decker lawn mower(electric) that lasted 1 year and died just past the warranty.
Samsung large flat screen TV colorwheel burned out just past the one year warranty.
    Durable goods?
Not a good name for that category.
    How about expensive shoddy goods?

  2. Thing’s will only continue to get worse until
A)America forces china to re -evaluate it currency, and conjointly only until that happens america should also put a 40% tarrif on all chinease and japanease good comming into the country.
Oz if this occur’s you will see the price of product’s level off or even increase abit …but the trade off is american manufacturers will make the real durable goods they were once known for making ….before capitalist’s turned into greed son’s a b!tches and started shipping manufacturing job’s over seas’ and to mexico.
Until someone in america has the spine to stand up for that country nothing not one thing will ever change no president that i see other than trump andi think he is a sure loser now (like micheal savage predicted before he opened his mouth about the birther issue) was the only one screaming about china and opec. and good on him for that but not one other presidential candidate will ever stand up to these baffoons!!!! so you get what you pay for low price great just don’t expect to get any sort of life out of these product’s.

  3. The article states that inventories are still expanding, which means that further layoffs in
manufacturing and the importing sector are in the offing.
