I’ve sensed, throughout the campaign, and even before, that Canada’s political tectonic plates are shifting and this election may just be the earthquake that shakes things up enough that the lay of the land will be different from May 3, 2011 forward.
Certainly there’s enough moaning and groaning from the left (MSM and others) to indicate that they sense their privileged position is about to move from under their feet.

There was no long gun registry at the time of the Polytechnique shootings, but it was in place several years later when a disturbed young man took his guns – all of them registered, in full compliance with the law – walked into Dawson College and started shooting. The only reason there weren’t more victims was because the police walked in immediately and took down the shooter. The long gun registry did not save any lives that day or prevent the shooting.
Lighten up Ron. I agree that well practised gun owners are more likely to respond, so long as they’re armed. It’s impossible to know if they’d respond if they are unarmed, and the attacker has an automatic weapon. Trying to pick and choose heroes, before they’re tested, is impossible. I pray that I’ll do the right thing, but I’ll never really know until that time comes. Self preservation is a powerful urge.
