I really wish the media would learn the meaning of the word ‘cut.’ Uk budget spending is not being cut; the growth in spending is being slowed. As the attached link shows, UK govt spending is growing every year from 2010 through 2014.

As for Earth Day, I celebrate by leaving all of my lights on, inside and out, for the whole evening.
I think candles are petroleum based carbon- emitting fire hazards and am protesting the use of them.

The biggest threat to the UK welfare start that you won’t read about, is the massive white flight first from the cities, then from the country itself. Anyone with an ounce of working ethic and a brain has either thought about, is planning on, or has already left the country (If they can afford too).
This has been going on for years now, Tony Blair’s government was very active in trying to put roadblocks in the way of indigenous Brits leaving, especially professionals. He was moderately successful in getting tax havens like Spain to start charging high taxes for the runaways, and places like Canada, Australia etcetera to not offer as many working or residency’s visa’s to professionals.
Another reason we are ending up with so many third rate doctors from India, ME and other places that offer a degree for a camel.

Wise words Jema 54, Ken (Kulak), am trying to read Timothy Snyder’s “Bloodlands – Europe Between Hitler and Stalin.” Tough read, just one slaughter after another, I have to put it away for a few days between attempts to wade through it.

I took part in the march and it was peaceful and jovial. Families were out, children and grandparents. The atmosphere was peaceful and fun.
