  1. Barry’s performance is what you would expect from somone who has never managed anything before bamboozling voters to put him into the top managerial post in the USA. He doesn’t know how to manage and unfortunately POTUS is not an entry-level job.
The weakness of Barry has never been more apparent than in his all-talk-no-action handling of the Libyan uprising. Barry’s idle chatter about supporting the revolt against Quadaffi no doubt encouraged the revolt because it embodied the real possibility of American help and thus eventual success. Now those emboldened by Barry’s empty rhetoric will pay a terrible price just as Iraqis did who were encouraged by Bush the Elder to stage an uprising against Saddam in 1991.

  2. The article in the link discusses Richard Nixon briefly, but favorably. Nixon deserves it.
Nixon was much too liberal IMHO but otherwise a very good president.
Bambi should be encouraged to take a lo-o-o-ong vacation in Rio.
A grateful nation should build him a grand villa there, on condition that he use it.

  3. if moo-moo manages to defeat the libyan rebels there will be a bloodletting that will make the balkans look like a choir boy’s picnic….
o’ what a wringing of hands and rending of garments there will be displayed by the progressives….

  4. Several months before the election that brought Obama to the White House, there was a poll done by a news organization, which one escapes me, and a significant number of the polled opined that Martin Sheen would make the best President, supposedly due to his performance as a make-believe President on television.
It’s rather sad, but we’d probably have been better off with the dried out alcoholic in the President’s office,at least HE has some experience pretending to be a leader.
Obama’s been nothing but a leech on society since the day he was born, never had to make a real decision in his life. Four more years of this poseur in the White House and half the world will be aflame with tribal wars,as it’s fairly apparent the President, like Chance the Gardener, “likes to watch”.

  5. ‘We’re going on four weeks now, or more, that Barack Obama has been reading My Pet Goat.’
As long as he reads it from his teleprompter, he thinks he’s leading.

  6. What are you all complaining about? He’s just voting “present”. Nothing new there.

  7. Nope, ‘bama hasn’t been reading at all. He’s been busy writing the chapter in his biography devoted to his media friends: “My pet Sheep”

  8. dmorris – “…a significant number of the polled opined that Martin Sheen would make the best President, supposedly due to his performance as a make-believe President on television.
A significant number of me thinks Charlie Sheen would make a much better President than Barry.

  9. // Obama’s defiant unwillingness to take the measure of the world’s multiple crises and to act as a world leader in response to them in the eyes of the public indicates a fundamental disconnect in the Oval Office.
    &
Nixon was elevated by his handling of the presidency. //
Too funny ! Like the old criticism of Carter, it is that he is not “Presidential” [“Imperial”, “Royal”] enough.
As opposed to dealing with such “dull” items as child welfare.
I see the title of another of his articles “Fire In the Minds of Men” I think he needs a febriguge.

  10. I don’t think there is any role for him in the current crisis in the Middle East or in the crisis in Japan. I am very happy that he is spending time reading My Pet Goat, rather than doing things that Beagle and is ilk would like.
Just imagine if he went on air and told the world that the ME and the starving millions are much better off since they have forcibly changed or challenged government. It accomplishes nothing and seems like another good reason to go after the great Satan. It gives the kings and emirs and mullahs a stalking horse to attack.
Change has got to come from within and he should stay out of it.

  11. There are motions afoot that all future Presidents meet the citizenship requirements. I would go further. They would have to prove they do not have A.D.D. and they actually have the education they say they have. Employers get to check.

  12. The story was called “The Pet Goat,” and it was a part of a compilation called Reading Mastery II.
Getting the title wrong was one of many facts that Michael Moore got wrong, and the continued use of the incorrect title by liberals represents their willingness to eat the corn from Moore’s crap and ask for seconds. I understand the term has entered our collective consciousness, but we don’t need to make the same mistake as the leftists.
It wouldn’t have been as dramatic a lie if Moore said Bush was distracted from a national catastrophe by reading “Reading Mastery II.”
There was nohing for Bush to do in those 7 minutes. There were a lot of preparations and security considerations, not the least of which was where AF1 was going to go.

  13. For how many years have we been hearing from the Left that America as the lone super power is a bad thing?
Well, this here is Barry behaving like he believes it. He’s doing the Presidency as if America were… Belgium or something. Because that’s what DemocRats have been saying they wanted the last two decades. Lots of socialist goodies at home and no international “adventurism”.
And if it costs a couple million lives in the Middle East, they’re totally cool with that.

  14. Speedy @3:38 – I have to disagree. If the populace is so messed up that they’ll vote for a candidate while aggressively not caring who he is, what he’s done, what he thinks, what he intends to do, who his friends are, blah blah – then no amount of federal regulation or any kind of regulation can make that right.
In my darker moments I think that maybe American civilization – the apex etc. – was a wonderful thing that couldn’t last.

  15. Worry not, Mamba. The 2008 election was more a testament to the last desperate push of a dying social movement. Old hippie socialists realized they couldn’t wait any longer if they wanted to live to see their Worker’s Paradise come to be, so they heaved the wheezy old MSM propaganda machine into high gear and won themselves one last election.
Which is now well and truly -over-. Shot their bolt, and now they’re done. Cleanup is now in progress. Barry for his part is content to fiddle while Rome burns.

  16. The problem with all these crises is the lack of a position that guarantees Obama looking good. If he sides with the rebels in Libya and they lose, that’s bad. If he sides with the nut-job in the tent, he might pick a winner but that looks like Obama condones airstrikes on protesters.
In this case, Obama is standing on principle. That principle being only take a stand when it makes him look good.

  17. Actually I think he has been reading TPG for over 2 years (in between rounds of golf)

  18. I concur with Phantom’ 3:52 comment. Progressives loathe taking a principled stand or passing judgement on anything except for their domestic agenda.

  19. During the Iranian Hostage Crisis, Jimmah had his Rose Garden Strategy- hide behind the trellises and hope the thing would go away. Obama seems to be doing the same thing (though he favours the golf course and Rio) with the added wrinkle of pursuing his own socialist agenda at the same time.
    2012 cannot come too soon.

  20. Hey jess, it’s only a matter of time when ‘Shaniqua’ turns on Obama for not paying her mortgage or gassing up her car.
The top ten industries (big business) gave more money to Obama and the Democrats in the last election that to the GOP by a huge margin.
As far as sucking behinds goes, you have your head so far up Obama’s nether region that you can critique his denstist’s skills.
Obama is a failure no matter how much the left tries to fellate credibility into his body.

  21. I’ve started reading Jack Cashill’s new book “Deconstructing Obama”. In it, there is information pointing to the fact Obama has been groomed and financed in large part by the very powerful sheiks and oil barons of the middle East and other worldly men of tremendous power. They made sure he attended the best schools etc…This info was all available during the campaign of 08 but ignored and even rejected by the MSM at the time.
The rapid changes occuring in the middle east are a no go zone by orders given to Obama IMO. Israel is in grave danger down the road.
Obama is incompetent but he is being told to be so that people assume he’s just a doofus over his league and not a really traitor by design. “Show people you’re just a slacker who wants to party with elites”…First priority though: Never, ever let the mask slip off your face.
There is no longer doubt in my mind that Obama believes in a form of communism for the entire world. Frank Marshall Davis, the Chicago born Communist activist was Barry’s closest mentor from a very young age. More and more info is trickling out pointing that Davis might actually be Barry’s real father.
A University attendee who knew Obama testifies in the book that Barry was totally, 100% advocate and believer in Marxism and hung out most exclusively with acquaintances and teachers with the same convictions.
Unlike the precedent POTUS’s all the way back to at least JFK, and although they have all, more or less been in the pocket of big money including Barry, this time the difference is, we do not have a patriot American at heart in the White House…
Is Obama truly the Manchurian President?…So far, The probability keeps moving steadfastly towards that conclusion IMO.
