  1. I would be interested to know how many of those people showed up at the polls in the last election to vote, or how many of them have actualy participated on a community committee, PTA or church board, anything other than a union meeting as lemmings?

  2. What democracy does NOT look like is on display (so to speak) across the border in Illinois.

  3. I was looking up the definition of putsch and got this: “A putsch succeeds if the usurpers establish their dominance when the incumbent government fails to prevent or successfully resist their consolidation of power.”
Doesn’t this sound like what is going on in Madison?

  4. “boy, that’s an awfully white crowd.”
    subversive
I see a normal mix of blacks for a northern heartland state like Wisconsin…What are you insinuating here?
That blacks are too lazy to go and demonstrate?…Isn’t that racism?

  5. Gee, maybe this is a plea from the ignorant to be shown what democracy looks like. I say this because it’s obvious these poor souls have no idea. Maybe they should start by revisiting the results of the last election to find out who won…

  6. I’ve tried to watch the live feed from Wisconsin but it’s hard to listen to the speeches from the Dem’s. It would be nice to see “the vote” and the extra outrage that will happen after it’s over.

  7. i’m simply pointing out that a common criticism of tea party demonstrations is just as appropriate to this rally. i have no idea what you are trying to get at with accusations of laziness. perhaps you should reevaluate your own assumptions of “blacks in northern heartland states”.

  8. The chant is nothing more than the simple minded bumper sticker mentality of the radical left. You hear their stupid chant often when the socialist fools get together. It reminds one of a spoiled child have a loud temper tantrum at a supermarket checkout because his mom won’t buy him a chocolate bar.

  9. Actually, I think they may have gotten something correct:
“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until a majority of voters discover that they can vote themselves largess out of the public treasury”-Tytler (?)
Considering the recent actions of unions, I suppose it could be argued that the chant should be “This is what mobocracy looks like”

  10. Thats a nice little mob you got there.
Be too bad if something happened to it….
Oh yes and how many people voted in Wisconsin?
Guess your gonna need a bigger mob.

  11. That blacks are too lazy to go and demonstrate?…Isn’t that racism?
    ~Right Honourable Terry Tory
No need for them to demonstrate.
There is no union for welfare cheque recipients and if they want to hang out in a urine soaked environment they can just stay home.

  12. “A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until a majority of voters discover that they can vote themselves largess out of the public treasury”-
Dang it, LC Bennett. Beat me to it.
YES, this is the ultimate face of democracy just as the ultimate fate of all fiat currencies is total destruction. No exceptions.
I opined recently that Walker better clean up this occupation — and fast. See Tim in Vermont’s definition of a putsch above.

  13. A lot of those people in the rotunda aren’t from Wisconsin.
It isn’t democracy in action when people who aren’t part of the franchise are pretending to be stakeholders.

  14. Walker ran on this, got elected on this, and is now following through in an increasingly rare example of fulfilled campaign promises.
It may not seem fair to the public servants losing some thick cush, but it’s certainly not undemocratic. I just hope this opening shot is the first of a sustained volley of public sector unionization rollbacks. And hopefully it spreads northward.

  15. “Hey, you guys were big supporters of Mubarek…”
Well, Jess, you’ve got us; we’re all part of a collective here. It’s kinda like a commune of sorts where we have regular meetings to decide what our expressed collective view shall be.
    Guh.
Hey, moving on, why do we never see Woodstock-esque drumming and chanting at conservative, or Republican, or Tea Party rallies?
It’s such a total mystery. I imagine the answer must be really complicated…

  16. obviously blacks support Walker
and yeah, that’s a lot of crackers at a rap concert

  17. Max, you make an excellent point. Unfortunately Jess doesn’t believe in Democracy if it doesn’t concur with her principles. She only supports violence then. 🙁

  18. Hey, you guys were big supporters of Mubarak.
No surprise you’re taking the side against democracy again here.

Mubarak is out of power and does Egypt have democracy now?
    No.
Will Wisconsin be better off for the damage to the capitol building and the overtime pay for the police forces?
    No.
I could see that there wasn’t going to be democracy if Mubarak was deposed.
Is Egypt better off after so much of it has been trashed by the demonstrators?
No, they are poorer today than they were last year at this time under Mubarak.
The freedom to work bill was passed in Wisconsin today and is Wisconsin a better place for having all those smelly hippies urinate in and trash the captiol building?
    No.
(that building had just been refurbished at a cost of $80 million in Wisconsin taxes)

  19. What a gay fest.
Was that a congo line of naked men in pink thongs cha cha-ing in from the left hallway?

  20. That isn’t “what democracy looks like”, that’s what socialism looks like;everybody standing around chanting slogans, producing nothing.
Fire the lot of ’em, or better yet, go to a voucher system to pay for each kid’s education.

  21. The tolerant and diverse left showing the peasants what they really look like. Hopefully this won’t give the perpetually offended liberal MPs any ideas, their hysteria this week must of broken the frothing in outrage spit flying record?

  22. Actually, that is what a mob rule looks like. The mob is there to inhibit democracy, kind of like socialists /fascists would do.
If the mob was outside of the building, that would look more like democracy.

  23. Wouldn’t democracy look like the elected representatives standing up and voting Y or N on a measure and if it passes or is defeated the protesters going home saying, oh well better get out to vote next time.
If the unions where so sure of themselves wouldn’t a better course of action be to let the ELECTED representatives do what they ran on, then toss them out in 3.5 years? Surely if they have support of the vast majority of Wi voters it would be easy, no? Unless of course they think people truly don’t support them as much as they claim.
Laws can be replaced and rewritten, unless of course they can’t find a winning candidate on the “raise union benefits and your taxes” platform.

  24. “Hey, where in the world is Alex?”
These are very confusing times for people like Alex. First they are supposed to love their Arab dictators, then they are told to hate them, then love them again…… No doubt Alex is off in a foetal position somewhere moaning and drooling pathetically waiting for the voices to stop.
Then in time, he will re-emerge like a reborn butterfly, to tell SDA readers how the world really is and how you will feel about it……………

  25. Yiipes jess, do you expect that to work? By work, I mean convert anybody not already committed deeply to your side to move in your direction?
We know our motivations, you just sound like an idiot pretending that you do. We are motivated by a rational concern for the future of democracy and our children and grandchildren’s future.
Attempting to overturn and election by shutting down a democratically elected legislature through the use of force has turned out well, exactly when?

  26. “Maybe you envision a few crumbs falling from your master’s plates that you can gobble up like the good little trained doggies you are.”
    Project much, Jess?

  27. Democracy is gonna look like firehoses and tear gas pretty soon if these jackasses won’t recognize rule of law.

  28. Methinks y’all were the ones who sucked up to the bullies in the schoolyard ’cause you were so p*ss-scared of getting beat up.”
No, we were the ones who beat the crap out of you for gassing on about “big money corporate interests” while we were taking on the bullies.

  29. “Our democracy is out of control in Wisconsin,” Mr. Barca said. “And you all know it – you can feel it.”
    -Rep. (D) Peter W. Barca, Wisconsin, March 10th 2011.
A telling comment. Apparently “their” democracy is out of control when it acts against the wishes of minority democrats and the public sector unions.
