  1. h anniversary of his birth, I remember the political times in which he was elected POTUS. The political left around the world had enjoyed tremendous success in the 1970’s. The UK, Canada and the USA all had far left governments in the 1970’s and they also had double digit unemployment, inflation and interest rates as a result of their endless social programs. The election of”Margaret-Thatcher-the-milk-snatcher”, Ronald Reagan and later, Brian Mulroney, put the world economy back on track.
    Thanks, Ron.

  2. I’m listening to Sarah Palin’s talk. She’s just mentioned the “Love thy neighbour” core of W(w)estern conservatism. Yeah!

  3. Watching the live feed of President Reagan’s Tribute on Fox news right now. Well done sir, tip of hat.

  4. I’ve never understood why liberal celebrities (was that a redundant term?) hated Ronald Reagan. They could have Carter back. In order to make them truly understand how lucky they were to have him, place them in Siberia without their typical luxuries.

  5. I hate to admit it although when I was growing up I attended a Rally in Detroit that protested against Reagan. I didn’t really know anything about him but it was the hip thing to do at the time: I was young and stupid. Now I know better.

  6. Funnily enough I have never been a big fan of the Gipper. He was vastly superior to the peanut farmer but overall I think he did little to advance the Conservative cause that had any staying power. Four years after he left office Americans saddled themselves with one of the most corrupt presidents in their history, Clinton, and within a 1/4 century elected the peanut farmer redux on steroids.

  7. Joe, that’s the trouble with democracy. You won’t get good government when people don’t want it. I think the Gipper would be able to accomplish more today. IMO the conservative movement is more mature and more organized. The MSM losing their monopoly on information is very encouraging. Meanwhile we’ve drifted downstream for another generation.
Will there be leaders that call out sharia rule for being today’s evil empire?

  8. Gee, I like Gary Sinese. (Thanks, AtlanticJim, for the link to the realclearpolitics video of Sinese at the Ronald Reagan Library in Simi Valley.)
‘Interesting to look at his filmography: ‘mostly narration work for films on the military. He doesn’t seem to be getting much work anymore in Hollywood, the cost, I guess, of being an unabashed Republican.
Gary Sinese is a true patriot, married to the same wife since 1988! You go, Capt’n Dan!

  9. The United States and the west in general desperately needs a leader of Reagan and Churchill’s stature.
We watch Gary Sinese every chance we get and avoid Sean Penn.

Sinese is on every week on CSI NY. You know, the watchable one.

  11. If you watch CSI:NY, Gary Sinese has a photo of Pres Reagan in his office. Must make the leftards heads explode everytime its shown. And it shows up quite often. Sinese is the exec prod of the show. He also has a charity to help the armed forces in the States. (Can’t just remember what its called at the moment.) GO PACKERS….

  12. Roger, you’re no conservative. If you were, you wouldn’t be so sneering and condecending.
And you’d admit that lower taxes are a good thing, period. Whether the billionaire or the welding shop owner benefits, it means less waste by government and more opportunity for creating new products and employment.
You appear to be a troll.

  13. From the Kathleen Parkers to the Chris Matthews this Women makes the left bubble & stew in hysterical loathing. The vile smear campaign never stops from these Elitists, conservative (In name anyway) to the mild left.
She didn’t kill her (In these sick minds) defective baby, This is the well of poison that drives them nuts. Particularly Women. Scratch an Elitist find a Eugenicist. In Japan your life’s station is predetermined by your blood group.
In North America your stand on abortion is the means test. Thats she has stood at the front of this wind tunnel of despised media onslaught is too her credit.
She still makes the ‘Brights” fall into a foam filled rage.
