Best Canadian Blog
2004 - 2007
Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Redford dimensions the word hypocrite.
“Redford’s father got a job at the Standard Oil Company as an accountant”
“He (Redford) moved to Los Angeles, California and began working in the nearby oil fields to pay his bills and save enough money to travel to France so that he could study painting.”
One of the comments to the Hotair article was “To the leftists lying and talking out of both sides of their mouths is “The Natural” thing to do.” This is oh so true.
I think pointing out the hypocrites among the hollywood crowd is kind of pointless. They’re ALL hypocrites. They get driven around in limo’s, they vacation half way around the world numerous times a year, they build or buy massive mansions to live in with their spouse and 1.5 children, they own extremely expensive gas guzzling cars (Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bugatti), and they travel in helicopters and private jets on a regular basis. Find me a hollywood celebrity that actually lives the life they keep preaching to others about, and THAT would be worth watching!
The Some Dunce Kid
Ah,Robert,we loved ya in “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”,and “The Sting”,and that movie you directed,”A River Runs Through It” is one of my all time favourites.
But you should have followed the path of your partner in films,Paul Newman, and stayed the hell OUT of things political!
Go invent a salad dressing,Bobby, and quit making a damned fool of yourself with this anti-oil BS.
Newman will always be loved and remembered as a class guy and good actor, while your legacy will be be “just another Hollywood hypocrite asshole”.
At this year’s Sundance Film Festival, the biggest party that Mr. Redford throws, The American Award was given to the new film simply titled “Senna” regarding the life and times of Ayrton Senna de Silva, F1 ace, from Brasil. After his death in 1994, it was revealed that he’d given millions to the poor in Sao Paulo without a word about it in the press, he’d done it through a foundation he’d started and he kept his name out of it, seeing clearly that the good works he’d decided to contribute to, were not done to hoist his name in lights… another star saying, “look at me, I’m a great guy”. It’s a lesson lost on those in Hollywood now. His sister continues to run his now formalized foundation in Brasil, of his original $400 millions, they’ve given about $80 million.
A great man on the track, a greater man off it. Take a lesson Robert Redford.

Wonder what kind of private jet he owns ?
Not to worry, his ski resort is doomed, just ask his pal Al Gore. Or do they both know that BS but the money is nice.
That was very interesting about Ayrton Senna. Something I did not know. One has to admire celebs that quietly go about doing charity work without a lot of fanfare. Gee Bono, how bout giving some cash instead of “I give of my time, not my money.” Just how does Bobby Redford expect patrons and residents of his resort to arrive? Do they float in on unicorn farts? Wait,, all that methane gas!!
Where it’s well below freezing for 5 months of the year, what do these vacuous whackjobs think we do to stay warm and go about our daily business? I would have a wee bit of respect to R.R. if he INSISTED his resort and residents relied on renewable energy as it’s sole means of heat, lighting, transportation, maintenance and cooking. Ain’t gonna happen.
It’s amazing that anyone gives these self-serving loons any credibility.
Yet they do.
Is it just me or is Redford starting to look more and more like Robert Culp as he ages? Too bad, as far as I know, Culp was a semi-decent human being other than the five dozen marriages and all.
Wow…. another lefty hypocrite….. I’m shocked. Still one of the best lines ever was Russell Brand on the 2006 NME awards show after Bob Geldof called Russell a c**t. “It’s no wonder he’s an expert on famine, after all he has been dining out on ‘I Don’t Like Mondays’ for 30 years.”
Phelim?
Now there’s a quality handle!
Sounds vaguely familiar…

Nah Redford is just guarding his turf…like the Kennedy’s guard their view.
I still like Palin’s clever way to nationally telivise….THE BARREN LANDS….that high tundra got that name for good reason.
Cross posted at Dr. Roy’s Thoughts:
No real surprises here. Robert Redford is a typical leftard, in good company with the Goreacle and Sukooki: Do as I say, not as I do.
These guys think they’re so high above the madding crowd, so exalted in their many mansions and spreads of prime real estate that they don’t have to follow the rules the rest of us do. We might get out of hand, whereas they’re wise — and wealthy.
They’re allowed to march to the tune of a different drummer and use as many of the world’s dwindling resources as they want — as long as the rest of us limit our consumption.
‘Bunch of heinous hypocrites and pompous poseurs. Fie on them all!
I liked it better when people didn’t know every detail of entertainers lives. I used to think Rock Hudson was a great actor, Elton John a great singer, and Bing Crosby a great father. Finding out all those people have issues can spoil an otherwise enjoyable song, movie, or concert.
I admit, I still like Elton John, and Rock Hudson, but Bing Crosby makes my skin crawl. So does every actor who criticized Charlton Heston. Redford I can watch, without losing my temper.
BTW the word ‘hypocrite’ means ‘actor’. Coincidence?
batb is right, most of them are a bunch of hypocritical pompous poseurs.
I have to agree with coach that it was better when we did not have their lives shoved down our throats. In our house we are to the point where we are selective as to whose movies we watch. Movies with Sean Penn, Danny Glover are definitely out.

At 1:56 you said all I wanted to say.
I like Redford’s acting, but Paul Newman was a class act, both in his professional career as well as his personal life.
Personally, I am getting relly tired of “celebrities” wagging their fingers at the rest of us from a presumed, in their mind, of moral superiority.
There’s no hypocrite like an eco-hypocrite.
The music was soothing but more important this is exposing these maggots of hypocrisy . Which makes it even a better day.

What pete said.
Celebrities are the biggest hypocrites of them all. Strip them of their lifestyle and then measure their “ethics”.
That would be worth paying a ticket for.
Pete said “Find me a hollywood celebrity that actually lives the life they keep preaching to others about, and THAT would be worth watching!”
Moms Mabley.
Unfortunately she’s dead now though.
I used to think Rock Hudson was a great actor, Elton John a great singer, and Bing Crosby a great father.
And then what happened?
The leaders of the green revolution – hypocrites. And their followers are just that – following the hypocrisy.
The best way to corner an AGW believer is to ask what we need to do. After the list is given, ask if this person which of those ‘solutions’ he/she has implemented in his/her own life. When the answer is “none – yet, but the government…” (and it will be none because I’ve NEVER come across one who said otherwise) I cut the person off and say I will start to implement those ‘solutions’ when you do. Call me when that happens.
