Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

By the look of that jacket BO spent the night on the couch again. At least BO and MO can make it look like they get along when in public. I wonder if that makes BO’s boyfriends jealous.
I feel sorry for anyone who falls for the old, stop digging saw. If you ever find yourself in a real hole, as opposed to a figurative one, and are lucky enough to have a shovel, start digging on one side of the hole to widen the hole, piling the loose dirt in the bottom and continue until you have created a ramp to walk out of the hole. This presupposes that you actually want to get out of the hole.

Not sure where you got your numbers from. Comments from Mich Shedlock show that the U.S. government reported 103,000 jobs gained in December….but 256,000 gave up looking for work, and are, therefore considered as NOT unemployed.
There were also revisions to the October and November employment report, but those revision only added a total of 70,000 jobs to those two months.
All in all, not much to cheer about when the sole reason for better stats is due to people giving up on looking for work.
Watch for more of this in the months ahead. Many of the unemployed are starting to come to the end of their 99 weeks of employment insurance. As this runs out, and they haven’t been able to find work, they will move from ‘Unemployed’ to ‘Not Part of the workforce’ (which, perversely, will improve the US unemployments stats).
The article by Mish can be found here – http://globaleconomicanalysis.blogspot.com/2011/01/bls-job-report-december-nonfarm.html
JTH – the stats came from the BLS news release: http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.a.htm
I will certainly check out the site you referred to.
JDH – I got the stats from the web site of the Bureau of Labor Stats

“We’re digging ourselves out of a hole”
Then STOP digging!
Of course Obamba is referring to himself and Michelle. Why would he give a rats @ss about the nation now, he’s in the home stretch. New crib, new cloths “we be doin fine”.
