  1. If your story can blame conservatives or the USA, or at least call for more government action, it is suitable for the CBC. Use Facts and credible sources only if convenient.

  2. I guessed wrong: I guessed it was anyone’s fault BUT the shoddy anti-worker’s-safety Mexicans. Well, I was kinda right.
BTW; what does stolen oil from the facility have to do with the place exploding, anyway? Why was that even thrown in? Oh, I get it, to badmouth the USA, as is the CBC’s modus operandi.

  3. Being on dial-up I didn’t go “here” to listen at the 3:45 mark..
    But the answer is easy..
    George Bush..
    poor guy..

  4. un-surprising….
Conrad Black needs to be put in charge of the CBC. He has a proven record of success in media, and while fulfilling the CBC’s original mandate – a mandate that the CBC hasn’t dusted off in years – Black could also make it into a channel worth watching.

  5. Anyone at CBC have a globe and figure out where Mexico City is situated in Mexico,San Martin Texmelucan, is 1600 km from refineries in Texas.
That is a long (and expensive, let alone easy to detect)haul. I gotta blame government of Mexico corruption as any thinking person would………..
    wouldn’t they?

  6. Geez, I thought they would at least have had the decency to blame Stephen Harper and Sarah Palin, too!

    Wouldn’t that be delicious karma.

True. But we’re talking the CBC here. Truth is irrelevant. Thinking is taboo.

  8. Been a long period of time since I have listened and/or watched a CBC news report. I have just been reminded and will continue to avoid such exposure. Cheers;

  9. “…what does stolen oil from the facility have to do with the place exploding, anyway?”
    Huh?
It has everything to do with it when the thieves cut open the pipeline. It’s the same thing that goes on all the time in Nigeria, and no, shoddy workmanship has nothing to do with it. Or are you the type to blame the store owner when someone heaves a rock through his front window?

  10. Oops, it should have read Grant Devine @ 10:28.
Too much in a hurry to get to EBD’s music selection.
What the heck, blame all right wingers.

  12. Don’t make me go back and watch that pathetic reporter again, but did he say “shipped via illegal pipelines to the United States”?????
How can he be so stupid and lacking in any imaginative skill whatsoever to suggest somebody could install an illegal pipeline? That’s an complete insult to the project teams that design, install, and monitor real pipelines. It’s a lot more complicated than being a reporter. This guy is dangerously ignorant.

  13. It probably is Bush’s fault if the ‘illegal’ pipeline shipping ‘stolen’ oil was built during his term:
    http://www.state.gov/e/eeb/esc/iec/permit/
If you build a pipeline across the US border you need one of these.
I am actually working on the Canadian side of one of these types of projects. I bet you could build a pipeline in Mexico up to the US border pretty easily but the red tape and bureaucracy once you crossed the border would make your head spin.
But I must no know what I am talking about because the truth was just reported on the CBC :^)

  14. From the comments:
“Canada should send the rcmp to Mexico to help. They are experts at pretending to investigate pipeline sabotag”
    LMAO

  15. we need to give credit to the CBC , its the first time they have used the word “blast” without refering to Iggy or Taliban Jack in terms of
Liberals Blast Tories on tranfer payments or
Layton Blasts Baird on lack of CBC funding or
Elizabeth May Blasts after large chili meal.

  16. I missed that one, thought for sure that BBC West would have found a way to blame Harper or Bush……
    Cheney for sure!

  17. Not to go off topic or anything (I assumed the United States was to blame), but why was I just forced to sit through a 30 second commercial before I could watch a news clip from our publicly funded broadcaster?
    Anyone? Anyone?

  18. Yeah I pondered that myself Andrew, especially after the first two times I tried to watch the clip, the page froze AFTER the ad was done.

  19. The CBC: all anti-American provincial *ssh*les, all day, every day.
They’re kind of like the Arabs, vis a vis the Jews. If there weren’t Jews for them to hate, despise and blame for all their problems, the Arabs would have to invent them.

  20. That oil was used exclusively by Air Force One to ferry the Obamas to Spain, to Copenhagen, to Hawaii, etc.

  21. CBC’s John Northcott came up short.
He missed that Americans are most likely paying for the illegal pipelines and stolen oil with guns.
    And in other news –
Julian Assange hasn’t leaked insider information about the CBC because he can’t read French…

  22. Two things I found very interesting:
    1. The broad’s utterly indifferent reaction with all the hmmmmmms (waiting to get to the juicy part, eh?)
    2. The cat’s framing of his comment starting at 3:45. “You’ll be interested in learning this …” and the halting emphasis on sold.to.the.UNITED.STATES. (America kills 27 innocent Mexican peasants including youngsters).
