  1. “My concern is that if we were to make a move to form a governmental-only body then that would send a very strong signal to civil society that their valuable contribution was not required or was not being looked for,”
Translation: “We hope the people who built and actually understand the thing won’t object too strongly to our grab for control.”
Good luck with that, Chauncey. Me, I plan on fighting you.

  2. With all the hackers and leakers out there who apparently cannot be stopped or controlled, how do these elites figure they can control the Internet?

  3. “…The Brazilian delegate stressed, however, that this should not be seen as a call for an “takeover” of the internet…”
No, it most definitely should not be seen as that because that is exactly what it is.
Never has the UN been so clear! Thank god for bureaucratic incompetence in ever trying to implement such a thing.
I can’t fully imagine how these UN Bozos think the internet works, but I bet it somehow involves monkeys, copper tubing, and at least one abacus.

  4. The FCC is poised to give the US Govt power to regulate the Internet as we type.
The US Govt want the bill passed before Xmas.
Time the shout as loud as we can.

  5. A good rule of thumb; if the UN proposes an idea,it’s probably bad.
Governments, and especially the UN-New World Government-in-Waiting,fear freedom of information and any attempt to oversee the internet is an attempt to control information, period. It’s not for our “good”. How f***ing stupid do they think we are?
As the headline said, “you missed a spot”.

  6. Perhaps the UN has ditched the IPCC and is initiating a different approach to transfer funds to the third world?

  7. What is it with the socialist/fascist control freaks and politicians in general?
Though there is no wander whatsoever for the useless UN to do make work projects, so they can suck more money from the governments (usually the wealthy western democracies).

  8. The UN can’t solve the Sudan humanitarian crisis.
Maybe they should have a “Food for Bodies” scandal.
Ooops my bad, a little too much truth which they can’t handle; because illusions are so much more comfortable.
Lets have a ‘Computers for Food’ scandal.
Is anything the ‘corruptocrats’ plan to the benefit of anything but themselves…ahh just like we thought.
    Cheers

  9. The Ruling Class is at it again. They just do not see how those ‘every-day’ people will ever “fit-in” with politicians, professors, journalists, actors and UN Bureaucrats. They must conform, damn it! They resisted the ‘Green Shackles’ so on to plan B.

  10. I wish Mesopotamia West’s dream would come true.
There seems to be a constant effort to incrementally creep in a world government through.

  11. UN control of the Web… because Oil for Food was such a success!
Looks like they finally figured out where their control over the MSM failed, eh?
They should ask the Chicoms how its going with their Great Firewall. High school kids hack that thing every day.

  12. Ken and Robert:
    I’ll third that.
From 1943 on the term “United Nations” stgarted to replace “Allies”.
What began as a club of winners evolved into a club of losers.

  13. On the vid of the poor women being whipped, chimps really can adapt to tool usage… On the UN, and internet control… Maybe , finally the end of the U.N…. Can you imagine every hacker on the planet attacking the U.N. control system on a daily basis.. Lots of fun to watch.
