  10. Watch this rather odd video of Obama being, erm, upstaged, or maybe supplanted by Bill Clinton at a White House press conference:
    Clinton: “Whatever he asks me about my advice, and whatever I say should become public only if he decides to make it public. He can say whatever he wants but…
    Obama: “Here’s what I’ll say, is that I’ve been keeping the first lady waiting, for about half hour, so I’m gonna take off. But, uh….”
    Clinton: “I don’t want to make her mad, please go.”
    Clinton gives Obama a perfunctory, “yeah, yeah, okay, get out of here” handshake, and they have a short exchange before Obama walks out.
    I don’t know the full context, but the impression I get is that Obama wasn’t originally supposed to be there, and that he’d showed up to show he’s in control; he explained “helpfully” to Clinton, right before he exited, that Robert Gibbs would choose the questions, and he said “you’re in good hands”, like he was instructing some rookie about how these big press conferences work…

  12. I found this disturbing.
    I never watched an evangelical show in my life, and frankly I’m an atheist, but being taken off the air because you said politically incorrect things about gays (nothing violent, just strongly unapproviing) – that’s bad.

  14. Ron Paul has been put in charge of the government committee which oversees the federal reserve. Given his opinions on this subject it could prove interesting. He wants it abolished, which isn’t going to happen. He also wants it audited, which might happen.

  25. To early to celebrate but this shows a glimmer of hope towards weighing business, consumers and provincial interests against the costs of “green” energy.

    The company estimates it would cost $1.2 billion to rebuild Boundary Dam 3 as a fully integrated carbon-capture and storage unit.
