Via Sarah Et Cetera, 20 obsolete words that should make a comeback. For example, “Ludibrious”, which means “apt to be a subject of jest or mockery,” as in “The ludibrious Stephane Dion made an appearance today at a conference on….”
First Snow on Brooklyn, in anticipation of the first big storm to hit eastern Ontario this weekend.
Vίtruvius likes funk, but does he like Undead Funk?

*sigh*, This is the caliber of jihadist idiot that’s trying to collapse western society.
Abe, No worries, The Mummies are everywhere
3billionandcounting.com is a documentary about how the hippies got DDT banned and why. It’s worth a look.
Watch this rather odd video of Obama being, erm, upstaged, or maybe supplanted by Bill Clinton at a White House press conference:
Clinton: “Whatever he asks me about my advice, and whatever I say should become public only if he decides to make it public. He can say whatever he wants but…
Obama: “Here’s what I’ll say, is that I’ve been keeping the first lady waiting, for about half hour, so I’m gonna take off. But, uh….”
Clinton: “I don’t want to make her mad, please go.”
Clinton gives Obama a perfunctory, “yeah, yeah, okay, get out of here” handshake, and they have a short exchange before Obama walks out.
I don’t know the full context, but the impression I get is that Obama wasn’t originally supposed to be there, and that he’d showed up to show he’s in control; he explained “helpfully” to Clinton, right before he exited, that Robert Gibbs would choose the questions, and he said “you’re in good hands”, like he was instructing some rookie about how these big press conferences work…
Obama displays that he is sensitive enough to show that he is both pussy and dick whipped at the same time.
I found this disturbing.
I never watched an evangelical show in my life, and frankly I’m an atheist, but being taken off the air because you said politically incorrect things about gays (nothing violent, just strongly unapproviing) – that’s bad.
From the article:
“The broadcasting council, which made the decision in June but only made it public this week, censured the comments because he referred to the event as a “sex parade” in a “disparaging tone,” expressed skepticism over the parade’s popularity and “claimed that the City of Toronto’s tourism slogan had been changed to ‘as gay as it gets’ and that advertising for the Pride events promoted sex with children.”
The broadcasting council said Rev. McVety derided the city for advertising Toronto as a “sex tourism destination … with full opportunity for sex with hot boys.”
(Tourism Toronto ran online ads that called Toronto “as gay as it gets” in 2008 and another online advertisement that said, “On any given day, hot boys and hot girls fill Church Street with energy, passion and opportunity.”)”

Not surprising coming from someone involved with “The West Wing”, but I thought that this should be brought to the attention of our host.

Ron Paul has been put in charge of the government committee which oversees the federal reserve. Given his opinions on this subject it could prove interesting. He wants it abolished, which isn’t going to happen. He also wants it audited, which might happen.
EBD…didn’t we already cover that Bill-Obie presser in depth?
BCF is covering the story on another Palin hater caught having an affair…with his daughter. Creepy enough, but he has discussed ‘morals and hypocracy in his rants against Sarah.
Morally superior or something like that.

“He wants it abolished, which isn’t going to happen. He also wants it audited, which might happen.”
And Paul’s murder? … which might happen. He is messing with the biggest of the bigs.
Hats off to the man. I hope he hurts them badly.

Ooops, goodmorning. Yes, it was covered here, and on the main page no less. I somehow missed the video link, thought it was just a “QOTD.”

To early to celebrate but this shows a glimmer of hope towards weighing business, consumers and provincial interests against the costs of “green” energy.
“Saskatchewan’s power company says it needs more information from the federal government before it decides whether to move ahead with a so-called clean coal project…
The company estimates it would cost $1.2 billion to rebuild Boundary Dam 3 as a fully integrated carbon-capture and storage unit.
Instead, refurbishing the 45-year-old unit to extend its life by another 30 years would cost an estimated $354 million.”

This is just incredible. POTUS delegates the presidency to an ex-president; someone, though, who can handle the job.

And that, folks, is entertainment. Did he have a lit cigarette in his right hand, throughout? He didn’t have much but he sure knew how to put it together, and he had pretty good dancing accompaniment.
Yeah beagle beak, over a billion worldwide. You saying that wikileaks are Gospel, or the media that reports it? Of course the Church is imperfect, it’s made up of imperfect people, unlike, what ever group you belong to. (Or so you would have us believe)
