There is simply no good will left among German voters it appears for any more. And even the Greeks knew that, which is why they played the WW2 guilt card earlier this year.
That said, the Germans are in a quandary here. These countries are the ones that buy most of their exports. If they are forced out of the Eurozone, a lot of German business (and indeed all the rest of the Eurozone nations) is going to become uncompetitive with the re-emergence of new and devalued national currencies in southern Europe.
My number one prediction for the next year: Germany bailing-out their banks.
