Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

I don’t twitter being a guy and all, but if I did, I would know how to write this better:
HEY JUSTIN — We came dangerously close to having an election here. OMG. LOL. Can you imagine? — Fidel.
HEY JUSTIN — This is Raoul, he meant erection. LOL. Hugo is here too. — RAOUL (the sexy one)
HEY JUSTIN — Does Mo Strong have my windmills built yet? I need something to tilt at. — HUGO.
HEY JUSTIN — Guess who — BARACK.
I don’t do any of those facebook, Instant messenger, twitter stuff, I’m lost on that message.
Is a person that twitters, a twit? no really, it’s a serious question. I don’t do tech stuff well. I miss my rotary phone.
mike on vcr island
Mike – generally speaking, I’m too cool for Twitter.
Now c’mon, nobody could be cooler than Justin Trudeau or Rick Sanchez, who twitters so much that he needs his own wind farm to keep the system from crashing.
I should have spent that week in Cuba.
The Cuban model of communism never did work, nor does any other model of socialism. If Castro had asked any Cuban with more than a half a brain and an ounce of morals, he would have been told that. Instead, he put them in jail.
Castro is facing death in the not-so-distant future and he knows his life has been a dismal failure by any rational, ethical, human standard. Good riddance.
Meanwhile, Kim Justin-il and his brother are both bootlickers for a tyrant. How disgusting.
This is bizarre. Some people become senile when they get older. Fidel starts making sense for the first time in his life, decades after he started running his country into the ground.
But you know what all the useful idiots say, ‘communism has never really been tried yet, they all got it wrong so far.’ how many millions more dead will it take to wear that cliche out?
Yesterday he’s pro Israel – http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/sep/08/fidel-castro-criticises-mahmoud-ahmedinejad – and now this.
Has he had a stroke? Has he gone sane? Is he channelling Ronald Reagan?
Maybe he’s just so committed to anti-Americanism that he’ll say anything to p*ss the Administration off. I still don’t completely believe he’s not dead.
Maybe Castro is just tired of finding parts for his 1957 Dodge.
Hilarious. I love it.
Too funny, but alas, probably too true Kate.
I was of the same mindset about twitter until I tried it out. Since you get to pick who to follow, it has now become my most usable and custumizable “rss” feed.
Following the likes of Kate, Ezra, BCF, Jim Treacher, Ted Nugent, Ed Morrissey, Allapundit, Pamela Geller, etc.
Just watching Ezra destroy leftie after leftie last week was worth the price of admission!
Papa?? Hemingway?? Would he have approved of Fidel?
A message to Justin Trudeau from the People of Alberta. Bah hahahahahahah. We win your dad sucked.
Proof: In the 1940’s Tommy Douglas became Primer of Sask. In those early heady days of Neo Communism the arrogant Tommy created such a anti business environment that Imperial Oil pulled a certain Oil Rig out of Sask. and went to the land of Heathens Alberta. Were said Rig made history in Leduc. Yes sports fans we mean Leduc #1.
So how does this relate. Well 10 years later Castro came to power and 10 years later Trudeau came to power and the game was set.
So in the middle of all this Neo Communism the Little Train that could Alberta said screw you and went another direction. Little by little we started dragging the Neo Commies back. It stated in Lloyminster which used to be all on the Sask. side and now it is on the Alberta side. Then came the whole Province of Sask. when they kicked the Neo Commies out and installed and Local Government with no to ties to Ottawa just like Alberta.
The ironic thing here is if Tommy Douglas would not have chased the oil companies out the history of Western Canada and there for Canada would be completely different.
So our little experiment comes to today. Alberta is the driving force of Canada. Cuba well Cuba sucks. Ontario has become an have Province and Socialism is Crashing around the world.
So Justin suck it up and get used to it Cuba is just the start.
P.S. To the people from Sask. you have made history twice you were the the first to embrace the Neo Commies and the first to kick the bums out. Who knew.
WHAT’S he talking/twittering about?
That his dad didn’t live to see what a laughing stock he’s become? Or that the Liberal Party of Canada is nothing but an empty, ugly shell, having long ago become bereft of intelligible life?
Sorry, disregarded the @fidel: I guess what Justin means is that “Papa” couldn’t handle the truth, something we all know.
Well Papa’s now in a better place, where truth/lies/statistics are all the same thing and don’t matter anyhow.
well, finally an answer to the nagging question of whether Papa was a comsymp fellow traveller…
and i well remember uncle Fidel was the only mourner/head of state of any stature/notoriety to attend Papa’s funeral service…
poor silly arrogant wrongheaded Papa…what a waste of our time….what a disservice he did his fellow man…
OMG. Castro said THAT?!? My first instinct was to check Snopes and make sure I wasn’t being punk’d.
Confusing tweet by Twit Trudeau. Is he saying too bad “Papa” didn’t live to see Fidel admit his Commie state is a failure?
I could add too bad Papa didn’t live to see the mess his Charter is making of this country.
The Trudeau kiddies called Pierre “Papa” and Fidel “Uncle”, sounds like one big happy family.
The more I observe PET’s first born the more obvious it is he really isn’t anywhere close to being fit for the job the desperate Liberals are anxious to push him into.
FYI Ford Prefect, john begley, batb, Liz J — it’s called Photoshop.
what’s called photoshop ?
Justin’s twit is in response to Castro stating that the Cuban system is a failure. But is also clearly reveals everything Canadians need to know about Trudeau – senior and junior.
Barry Soetoro to come out and say…
“Fidel Castro’s comment about communism is stupid”
…in 3-2-1
Poor little Justin, don’t worry Papa will soon have his BFF with him in commie hell, that’s a little below lawyer hell, under regular hell Justin, where Satans little brother Hugo runs the show.
Well it may be too rude for any of you to say it, so let this crusty Albertan do it for ya:
I’m glad your daddy isn’t alive anymore too, kid!
What Bartinsky just said.
Only yell it.
Barry Soetoro to come out and say…
I as…I mean we as Americans must now stand as one and confront this capitalist turn coat. Castro is a threat to our liberties and our American way of life.
Classic post title, Kate.
I think this shows that Fidel has gotten wiser over the years. This was probably a difficult thing for him to admit.
Can Justin be taken to the HRCs for his inner tweets?
Classic, Kate!
Some twits just asked to be mocked.
During a vacation to Cuba back in 2006, my wife and I had the opportunity to take a private walking and driving tour of Havana with a private guide. At one point, we were sitting in his modest apartment, sucking back on a couple impressive Cuban cigars.
The experience provided a remarkable opportunity to ask some very direct questions about Castro, Cuba, and the workings of the Cuban economy from a rank and file citizen.
I asked many questions that afternoon, and the guide even complimented me at one point regarding the depth of my inquiries. But, one question in particular stands out in my mind to this day, because of his simple, one-word answer.
Paraphrasing, the question was, “How will the country react when Castro dies?”
The answer, “Party.”
Yup Justin has jumped the shark, nothing he ever says after this will erase his anguish at the old dictator finally telling the truth.
Fidel picked the wrong horse, back in the day, John Kennedy put him in his place, and kept him there. The Cuban people have suffered terribly under his regime. I hope now they are able to move towards freedom.
Is that what Justin is glad his Father does not have to see.? Figures.
Liberalism is Communism in a suit.
Great blogging by Goldberg, too.
Y’all follow the links, eh?
Anybody think Fidel is helping Raoul out with a few hardliners who want to take his scalp? Capitalist reforms in a communist country make the little guys happy, but not the big guys. It hits them in the pocket book and cuts into their concubine and slave labour supply.
But if Big Daddy Fidel comes out and says the Cuban Model isn’t working, it pretty much cuts off the hardliners at the knees.
Still, I must admit it is really nice to see Fidel come out in his robot track suit and admit to the world that he f-ed up Cuba from the word go. Really, really nice.
Added bonus, Leftists heads are exploding like nukes in universities all over the Western world. Buy stock in mop companies.
OT
interestingly enough, Twitter said yesterday that at any given time Justin Beeber has 3% of the total Twitter traffic. Now I’m not twit (arguable), but if you extrapolate those numbers it’s quite a staggering statistic.
“FYI Ford Prefect, john begley, batb, Liz J — it’s called Photoshop.”
I know I can be subtle, but you’d think that after all these years, people would catch on. 😉
Oh shit, we’ve been taken, photo shopping and so early in the morning too.
This is very interesting.
Communists will tell the truth about communism not working when they drink too much. I know, I lived there.
Castro knew a long time ago that his regime is not working. While he run the government, he could not possibly tell the people that they are screwed. Now that he is out and free, so to speak, the responsibilities are someone else’s, he can speak his mind and nobody can do anything to him.
There is one question though, do Cubans know what Castro is thinking and saying.
As Rush reminds his listeners from time to time, socialism failed and fails every time it’s tried, without exception.
The young Trudeau should be swept away to the thrash heap of history and never to be heard of again.
Trudeau is the classic example of rich socialist.
Come on people, have a cup of coffee before reading Kate’s handiwork.
Do you really think JT will ever admit to the errors of his father’s (and his own as well).
Then why didn’t you f*cking move there, asshole?
“I don’t think anyone has been slandered more than the Jews. I would say much more than the Muslims,’ he said.
“The Jews have lived an existence that is much harder than ours. There is nothing that compares to the Holocaust.”
As said above,it appears Castro’s becoming more clear in his thinking as he grows older.
I know of several socialist types,Canadians, who regularly vacation in Cuba. Not one of them sees anything negative about the place, yet when I’ve spoken to non-socialists who have visited Cuba, they report that real poverty is everywhere.
I’ve given up trying to convince the former that $30 a month is not a very good wage for a Doctor.
Inoitall: correction.
O’said:
Pastor Terry Jones is a threat to our liberties and our American way of life.
(H/T MSM)
dmorris;Au contraire,I think that $30 a month is a good wage for a doctor,at least some of them.$20 for nurses and our health care problems would be over.I was in Ireland and the doctors from eastern Europe were working in hotels because they could make more money in Ireland as a bell hop than they could as a doctor where they came from.Thats how you fix things in a socialist country and soon to come here if Justin and his crew get power.
So that’s what that noise was.
If you listened really hard you could hear Son Of Satan’s head exploding like Joe Morselli’s cadillac from your house.
Imagine being locked up in some Cuban prison for the last 45 years for saying exactly what Uncle Fidel just said.
Instead of questioning the Totus’s birth certificate, can we do a DNA on Justin? Just curious as to whether he is the spawn of his Nazi’s Dad’s,or Mick Jaggers’s?
Cuban communism was a failed state from the outset. An island state, with limited resources and an agrarian economy reliant on trade and foreign investment, goes into revolution and produces a government with a rogue ideology which isolates it from the 1st world – island Castro, he built his own isolated economic prison in a transnational trade era.
Only a demented Limosine socialist like PET, or his progeny could hold hope for such a utopian dream state.
The Trudeau brats are as intellectually isolated as their father and as pathological as their Mom. Keep them far away from political power or these isolated privileged twits will turn the nation into another failed utopian experiment – just like “*Uncle Fidel’s”.
“The Cuban model doesn’t even work for us anymore,”
“After I’ve seen what I’ve seen, and knowing what I know now, it wasn’t worth it all,”
~Fidel Castro
Nice quote to throw at anyone who wears one of those ‘Che’ T-shirts.
Some of you may be missing the point here. Uncle Fidel’s statement has just opened the door for the Mighty O’s second term. By stating that communism is a failure Fidel has created the opening for discussions with America about dropping the embargo and starting a trading partnership. Hence there are a few hundred thousand ex-Cubans that will now vote overwhelmingly for the One in Louisiana and Florida and coupled with the Southern Illegals in California, Arizona and New Mexico, Voila Obama gets his voting block to really screw capitalism in America. Remember you heard it here first.
