  2. It’s strange how these high profile silly buggers choose to ignore the symbolism of 9/11.
    That terrible event along with the jubilant celebration on the Arab streets is etched forever in the cultural memory of America.
    Do you remember where you were when President Kennedy was Assassinated or on VE day.? These kind of events remain fixed in a societies memory regardless of the pretty words of foolish people.
    It demonstrates just how disconnected these people (including Obama) are from the people of American.

  3. I hope the progressives have finally been neutered but I’m not that confident yet. I still meet to many people that love Obama and think Harper is a big meany. They are still horrified by Malroney and Harris but don’t believe that Adscam was a big deal. The message hasn’t gotten out to people who aren’t looking for answers but just reading the daily paper and watching the local news broadcast. We need more honest television and newspaper coverage to finally slay the beast. Once the MSM changes then society will change.

  6. The only thing I object to CJunk’s posting is that he forgot to include “Progressive” in quotation marks. This is necessary to invoke the necessary mocking tone over the fact that they’re the furthest thing from progressive.
    To show you how incredibly unhinged Leftists are becoming as November comes closer, read this piece about Alaskan Joe Miller’s “imminent” defeat “by a wide margin”. This screed was written just the day before the Primary so the author had access to all the latest poll data but yet she was absolutely convinced that Miller was going to be decimated and decided to hang his defeat on Sarah Palin and The Tea Party.
    P.S. Bonus points if you join Slate’s Facebook group and read the comments therein about this story. There you will find true Kool-Aid nutters who rival the very worst you’ve ever read on the CBC News website!

  7. One of my favourite tests regarding the MSM’s reporting of the news is asking leftish/centre-ish friends/family/acquaintances if they’ve heard of Obama’s pronunciation of “corpsman.”
    A simple test, I think. Amazing results. The “corpse-man” never existed, according to my casual survey.
    But if GWB had ever talked about corpse-men…

  8. Please take a mini-second to imagine that instead of a mosque and Muslim cultural centre it were a huge “right-wing” church and Christian cultural centre. You would find nothing but contempt, intolerance and raw hatred coming from the likes of this moonbat. Count on the insistence of it being against the separation of church and state and an insult to the non Christians who were killed.

  9. Katie Couric has the terms right but their meaning is utterly wrong. The correct way to phrase her sentence is:
    ‘we cannot let the rage and fear expressed within Islamist jihadism tear down our core American values – one of which is sensitivity to the nature of hallowed ground and the feelings of people for such a site.
    Therefore, since this is hallowed ground to all Americans, we cannot let the viciousness of Islamist jihadism move into this area’.

  13. The first half sounds like Kouric is on the right side of thing,
    “There is a debate to be had about the sensitivity of building this center so close to Ground Zero[…]
    Definitely a debate is the minimum that should be done about this iconoclastic Mosque.
    But then the second half of Kouric’s statement seems vague and ambiguous to me.
    Now imagine Rush Limbaugh saying;
    […]we can not let fear and rage tear down the towers of our core American values.”
    It would mean the opposite of what Kouric seems to be saying.
    It would mean,
    do not let foaming-at-the-mouth-leftists keep you from opposing the ground zero Mosque.
    And there would be no need to explain what American values Limbaugh is alluding to.
    To me that second sentence is ambiguous, it can mean what the reader wants it to mean.
    Both sides – left and right – do show some fear and rage, and both sides have a different opinion of what American Values are.
    Maybe the person who composed that line for Kouric ( as I doubt she wrote it herself ) knew it could have a different meaning for different people?
    The vagueness of it – kind of like the vagueness of ” Hope and Change” – can be used in the future as “reversible armor”.
    So if the situation becomes ugly the person can claim they did not mean “this” but meant
    “that”…
    As some say it is more a feature than a bug that it is vague and ambiguous.
    I hate to pay compliments to leftists but the ambiguity of it is clever.
    But the use of the word “towers” ( notice the plural as in “Twin Towers”) is a bit too obvious to qualify as anything close to clever.
