  1. The Democrats are finished and they know it.
And the media has lost all credibility so they no longer hold any influence.

  2. Brad said “The Democrats are finished and they know it.”
Just like Bob Rae knew he was finished when he ran Ontario. That didn’t stop him and his Marxist rabble from inflicting as much damage as they could before they left. We are still paying for his actions today. None of the NDP cronies cared about getting voted out. They accomplished what they had set out to do.

  3. The DemocRats are done like dinner. They stopped having town halls because they can’t afford the security to keep their constituents from stomping their socialist butts. Takes a lot of guards to hold off two hundred pissed off old ladies.
The Republicans are likewise in trouble. They 100% let this all happen. They failed to get any Dems to cross the floor. They couldn’t even hold their own people together in the Health Care debate, y’all remember Olympia Snow? They need to be gutted and renovated like a rickety old house, basement to attic.
The Tea Party is working. Tax cuts, spending cuts, regulation CUTS, that is the road to recovery and to freedom.

I think you’re right. The really big story, I think anyway, is that the blogosphere has now taken hold of that power, and the blogosphere is far, far more diverse and dispersed than the media. The cosy relationships that were once possible are no longer possible. Power is back in the hands of “the people”, even if they are scattered all across the Anglosphere. This in going to be as influential as the invention of the printing press was. I just hope that people do remember to take control and become active in politics and VOTE. What really concerns me is that so many people, especially those at the younger end of the spectrum don’t vote. (On the other hand, that may buy us older folks some time to undo the disasters of our generation, before we pass on the torch. Personally, I’d love to do something that gets them all riled up. The best revenge. Respect you’re elders, sonny boy!)

  5. It is time for the people to take back the media, the health care, the education system, the resource sector, the entertainment industry, the religious teachings and the government.
Control the words and the definition and you can change the society. Can’t repeat this enough!!!

  6. Obama’s a divider, not a uniter. So there’s twice as much of everything – including crudites and wine – for everybody.

  7. gord at 9:24 PM, ya but Boob Rae grew up, enough to be a member of the Liberal Party anyway. Still has a way to go. I was amused at his little trip to Afstan. Setting himself up to take the reins away from Iggy. He’s got a lot better bead on the direction of prevailing winds in Canada than that feriner, anyway, having been blown around in them all these years.

Have to disagree there. It’s more about his uncle “puppetmaster” Mo Strong back in China with Montreal’s powercorp. They’re joined at the hip for c%$#*&@d sake.

  9. chris @ 10:58 is right. Bob Rae and his uncle have a long range agenda and Mr. Iffy is the Menshevik in the way.
glacierman says it well at 9:59
Look for more fireworks if the double dip gets legs. The fireworks won’t be just in Europe.

  10. Can anyone imagine; Town Hall Meetings in Canader? Har, har, har, har!
    When Hell Freezes over.

Can you elaborate please? Is Power Corp the only link to Mo and Paul Martin, Bob Rae, Mulroney, Trudeau, etc.?
    Sorry for double post.

Good grief, have you been living in nuclear shelter for the last two decades?

I used to go the Town Hall meetings in Calgary on a frequent basis back in the early ’90s when Preston Manning was building the Reform Party.
Those were the days when the RP had a one-man-one-vote party policy before they morphed into the Alliance and then joined with the Progressive Conservatives who demanded that the one-man-one-vote policy be scrapped before unification.

  14. Finally real Liberals on the left are realizing that Washington is dominated by 2 parties which are flip sides of the same coin. Dem and GOP execs take orders from establishment special interests other than their candidate’s constituency. Been that way for generations, it’s just more apparent in the last 20 years. Obama is a perfect example of the influence the power elite exert on the party system.
Carroll Quigley nailed it some 40 years ago:
“The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies, one, perhaps, of the Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea acceptable only to the doctrinaire and academic thinkers. Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can “throw the rascals out” at any election without leading to any profound or extreme shifts in policy.”

  15. Chris: “Good grief, have you been living”; no need to be rude. Throwing something into the fray without links for reference may just cause the many who cruse these pages to move on. One can sort of piece the tid-bits together but you never see the whole thing in print. Has a book been published that covers the subject?
