  1. Sometimes that specialist is the least busiest for a reason.
    Hey, just sayin’

  2. Sometimes they are least busy because they are relatively new to the province. Or because of the high turnover we have with immigrant GP physicians, they don’t know who does what. And finally, some of the ones that are most busy are that way because they are golf buddies with GPs or the OR allocation times are perverse. If I was getting ANY non-emergent surgery, I’d ask around. ER nurses usually have a pretty good sense of who is good and who is not. I have a relative who is an LPN and she can tell which surgeon has the highest post-op infection rates etc. etc.

  3. Hmmmm. Who provides the data that fills those charts? The doctors themselves? I took a look at obstetrics to see if any of them had a wait times longer than nine months and a lot the columns weren’t even filled in. Seems to be a make-work project for SGEU and the gang.

  4. I think that the specialists should have available their record of performance rather than wait times. If I was having surgery, I would want the best surgeon I could get with the most experience, lowest complication rates, best outcomes, etc
