Love means never having to say you’re a sorry loser.
On Tuesday’s CBS Evening News, with the help of the Washington Post’s Sally Quinn, Sharyl Attkisson managed to blame news, that Al and Tipper Gore are separating, on how they never got over being denied the presidency despite winning the popular vote in 2000. If only Bush hadn’t taken it from them.
It wasn’t just CBS. Yesterday, Saskatoon’s CKOM “afternoon news” host Richard Brown got in on the sentiment – and then added a “historical” footnote that Gore had actually won the 2000 election, only to have it snatched away by the Supreme Court.
As I flipped the dial to a country music station, I felt a little twinge of sadness for John Gormley. All that work building an audience each morning with intelligent, informed commentary on the day’s current events – only to have it punted away by the idiocy of the so-called “news department”.
(Or, is it a case of convenient division of assets? – h/t ES)

Ever notice that the socialists CKOM has on in the afternoons don’t take calls from listeners?
Maybe CKOM could get Obama in the afternoon slot when he is available in two years.
Exactly how does Attkisson’s commentary –that “it’s been ten years since that oddly public passionate kiss at the Democratic convention. That was followed by Gore winning the popular vote for President but losing the electoral vote. Family friend Sally Quinn says that may have done the marriage irreparable harm” — translate into “CBS blames George W. Bush for the Gores’ separation”?
Is this really what passes for evidence of liberal media bias these days?
Here is a different takes on it.
Al And Tipper Gore In Splitsville
As bad as the bursting of the housing “bubble” has been, the next bubble will be a very green one. And, at the heart of it will be the Nobel Peace Prize winner, Al Gore and his partner in crime, the UN climate change program. People will wonder why his famed documentary, “An Inconvenient Truth”, filled with inaccuracies, won an Oscar and was force-fed to children in schools around the world.
Breathing down his neck is Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) who has called for the U.S. Justice Department to investigate possible fraud by the perpetrators of the “global warming hoax.” Inhofe is Gore’s nemesis. “Every assertion that he made in his science fiction movie has now been disproven…” Should political power in Congress pass to Republicans and when President Obama has left the White House, Gore will have no protection against an investigation that will rival Watergate.
The investigation will involve agencies of the federal government, NOAA, the Environmental Protection Agency, and others as co-conspirators along with the scientists that participated in the global warming fraud. It will likely put a number of people in jail and among them is likely to be Albert Arnold Gore, Jr.
If Al Gore and Tipper are legally separated, it will likely provide a measure of protection for the millions he has secured through a fraud that dwarf’s Bernie Madoff’s Ponzi scheme.
This, I suggest, is probably the real reason for the separation. It is as coldly calculated as his global warming lies. Even their forty-year marriage must be sacrificed.

My subjective opinion….
The eyes are the mirror of the soul….one look at Gore’s eye show no evidence of a soul.
I know that is based on feelings but then remember such is definitive evidence to a lefty.
More evidence that losing that presidential election put Fat Albert over the edge.
He got really fat and went insane with fear of hot weather. Spent that last ten years trying to save the world from itself. Other than the vast fortune he made with the scam, tell me that’s not insane?
Have a laugh
Me thinks ES at 9:55 a.m. sums it up.
ES – that’s an interesting theory but does it have much validity?
Given your supposition that if a Republican Party took control of Congress, then Gore could possibly be exposed to lawsuits, could there have been some other method of protecting his money than a legal separation?
What lawsuits could he be exposed to; after all, Gore is hardly the only agent involved in AGW; it’s a vast political scheme that involves many governments involved in this agenda of forcing industrial nations to hand over money (not loans) to other nations.
The UN after all, is the mastermind behind it all; the hop-a-long ‘scientists’ in need of research funds to keep their labs going are the empty rhetoric of the scheme; the mindless left is the emotional sludge that roots the agenda. So I fail to see how a legal case could be made against Gore alone, when so many others were involved in this get-rich-quick scheme.
I’ve no idea and admit I don’t care why they are separating. What is interesting is seeing how the whole infrastructure of Gore’s Image is rapidly dissolving. That includes his AGW scenario; he’s doing less on that now and is refusing debate; and now, his famed marriage. Interesting.
Perhaps Mo Strong can advise AGWhore on planning where to place himself and his scammed fortune to avoid the unpleasantness of any future prosecution or extradition.
I turn off CKOM at exactly 3:00 pm. If I wanted to listen to CBC type drivel, I would turn to CBC.
The Glengarrian, agreed, ES says it well at 9:55. The sooner that snake oil salesmen peddling his AGE scam and socialist world government is before a judge, the better.
It is asinine to refer to Richard Brown as socialist or liberal; even insulting. CKOM is blantantly the staunchest right wing conservative/Sask. Party cheering section there is. Gormley could be their mascot, however he loves to hear himself talk too much to shut up long enough to listen. I’ll stick with CBC.
I know, I know, it’s all George Bush’s fault that Tipper and Al are breaking up.
But, my take on it is that ever since Gore hooked up with Billy Clinton, it was all downhill from there. Gore morphed into an uber-liberal, where lies and cheating are the norm.
You can see it in his face — especially the hooded and reptile-like eyes. He’s a man possessed. I sure wouldn’t want to be living with him.
Unless Tipper’s separating from Al only to save the family fortune, and therefore is complicit in the inconvenient truth fraud, I figure she’s free of a crashing boob and boor.
‘Sad a marriage is ending but glad Tipper got away.
Hey, yo!
Crazy conservatives, listen up…
IT IS ALWAYS GEORGE BUSH’S FAULT.
Everything, e-v-e-r-y t-h-i-n-g, bad can be traced back to George.
Just ask liberals or jihadists or looneys anywhere in the world.
Maybe Tipper realizes that Al has peaked out in terms of earnings given that his global warming fraud is tanking and this is the best time to strike.
Have they decided who gets possession of the internet?
so, besides the prospect of the goracle being caught screwing the pooch (and even then) who gives a rat’s pitutie?
Well everything else is, according to St. Al, caused by Global Warming, so why should we be surprised that it finally caused Tipper to come to her senses and dump the Eco-Grifter in Chief before she gets dragged down with his sinking eco-scam.
If the republicas had only one chance to win an election by cheating, why oh why didn’t they just wait for Obama?
Wow, he not only invented the Internet, his romance with Tipper inspired the plot of “Love Story”! Is he not just, like, too fab for words?
I had the opportunity to listen to Mr. Brown speak at the SK Chamber annual meeting recently. He was on a media panel, and I assumed he was the token lefty based on the other two panel participants. I was pleasantly surprised to hear his views in that forum, compared to what I, like many here, listen to or ignore every afternoon. He seemed to be closer to a libertarian in his views than what I get from his afternoon show.
Then again he could have been just preaching to the choir too.
Al Gore did not lose the national popular vote in the 2000 election because there is no such thing as a national popular vote in the U.S., or in Canada for that matter. Think of the 1960 World Series as a simple analogy. The Yankees outscored the Pirates almost 3-1 over 7 games but the Pirates won 4 games which was the whole point of the exercise.
Kate’s post here clearly demonstrates what is rotten about media, especially news media.
The newsroom editor, looking for someone to interview and have on air;
‘What do you think caused the breakup?’
Al is a fraud.
‘And you, Sir?’
Al is a crook and will end up in jail.
‘Ma’am?’
Who could ever stay with a guy who made $Millions by needlessly scaring kids.
After a few hours and a few hundred people-on-the street who were rejected by the editors ..
‘Madame, do you think GW stealing the election hurt Albert’s marriage success?’
Sure!!
‘How would you like to appear on the CBS evening news tonight?’
It’s about the money. Everything Gore has done since losing to Bush has been about accumulating wealth. Normally I’d say go for it, earn as much money as you can selling green snake oil to gullible people. But then the big green machine invaded government and promoted crony capitalism, green religion and forcing citizens to buy indulgences from companies like his. Now, I hope that he and the other warmers are fully investigated, sued and thrown in jail. I think Gore is shrewd enough to see that the tide has changed and wants to shield at least part of his ill-gotten gains by transferring them to his (ex) wife.
Whether or not the Gore’s separation is motivated by wealth preservation, I think it’s a safe bet that now is a good time to go short on all the hyped-up rent-seeking scams related to the mass hysteria of significant AGW. In addition to their lack of scientific and economic foundation, the world is approaching a debt bubble reckoning that will blow away much of the unproductive structural sloth and mush that passes for investments.
Not to worry, Obama will save them from the asteroid.
[The nation needs a strong, independent press, the FTC argues, and so they want to find ways for government to “reinvent” journalism.] hotair
Maybe Al just learned Tipper was having an affair with Frank Zappa during the congressional Rock lyrics witch hunt.
Senator Exon: What is the reason for these hearings in front of the Commerce Committee?
FZ: Sex!
Senator Hawkins: Well . . .
FZ: Sex!
Senator Hawkins: Thank you. I think that statement tells the story to this committee.

FZ: Sex!

Senator Hawkins: This issue is too hot not to cool down
FZ: Sex! Sex! Sex! Sex! . . .
Senator Hawkins: I’d be interested to see what toys your kids ever had.
FZ: Why would you be interested?
Senator Hawkins: Just as a point of interest in this . . .
FZ: Well, come on over to the house. I’ll show ’em to you . . . Really!
Senator Hawkins: I . . . I might do that.
Senator Hawkins: There’s no absolute right to free speech

Senator Gore: I found your statement very interesting and, ah, let me say although I disagree with some of the statements that you make and have made on other occasions, I have been a fan of your music, believe it or not. And I, I, ah, respect you as a true original and a tremendously talented musician.
Senator Gorton: Mr. Zappa, I, ah, am astounded at the courtesy and soft-voiced nature of the comments of my friend, the Senator from Tennessee. I can only say that I found your statement to be boorish, ah, incredibly and insensitively insulting to the people that were here previously; that you could manage to give the first amendment of the Constitution of the United States a bad name, if I felt that you had the slightest understanding of it, which I do not. You do not have the slightest understanding of the difference between Government action and private action, and you have certainly destroyed any case you might otherwise have had with this Senator. Thank you, Mr. Chairman.
FZ: Is this private action?
I’m with ET. The man who wrote the following is, as she might put it, living in a fictional world. Kinda reminds me of watching Beck one Friday when he told us that come Monday “folks will go to jail” over the Acorn scandal. Nope.
The investigation will involve agencies of the federal government, NOAA, the Environmental Protection Agency, and others as co-conspirators along with the scientists that participated in the global warming fraud. It will likely put a number of people in jail and among them is likely to be Albert Arnold Gore, Jr.
NOPE. The State won’t investigate the players in a project the main objective of which was to put Leviathan on steroids. And O/T, the Repubs won’t repeal State Health Care either. Mark my words.
At the bitter end of an e-mail correspondence with an old warm-monger friend, I asked him to at least agree with me that Algore was INSANE as a result of the “stolen election”.
I had come to see Algore as the Pete Best of Politics (the Beatles drummer ejected just before the band went ballistic). And, really, as Mark Knopfler might put it, “money for nothing” will make you insane too, over the long run. Pete Best, I hear, is pretty sane.
The protection of assets seems to be a reasonable hypothesis. This is an old legal tactic much like putting the house in the wife’s name. I have known of several instances in the past where a couple have divorced for “irreconcilable differences” and the wife walked away with everything. About a year or so later, they seemed to be able to reconcile those differences and started living together again. Didn’t get married again though.
Even though the current US administration is in the bag to enrich Saint Al and Chairman Mo beyond measure through the Chicago Climate Exchange, the elections in November may bring about a less favourable climate (pun intended) Al may be getting a whiff of what’s coming down the pike at him.
If they’ve been discussing this separation for a while now, then I wonder what the explanation is for the purchase in April of a multi-million dollar mansion in Monecito.
Reportedly they had joined the elite club (which Oprah belongs to) so that doesn’t sound as if this separation has been planned.
More Gore BS.
Al Gore, mental illness or alcoholic, which one?
What everyone seems to forget is this useless tit didn’t lose the election in court or in Florida, he lost in his home state. Apparently those who knew him best knew something the rest of the country didn’t and didn’t vote for him, what does that tell you?
I like the division of assets. If there is any justice left, Big Al will be in court for the rest of his life. As he was using her money and plane maybe she can’t take a bad market, a dim future and Al. Good choice. Just buy new pillowcases to remove the grease.
I don’t listen to Brown either but he is better than the guy that can’t pronounce the words he reads from the news.
Maybe Tipper knows something is about to be revealed about the biggest snake oil sales man in the history of the world , something from which he/she/they would never recover…
C’mon it’s Al Gore, what’s the big mystery?
Gore and the Rico Act, it has a nice ring to it.
She apparently grew tired of being dragged off on hunting expeditions for Manbearpig
Al Gore lost the 2000 election because he could not carry his home state, or neighbours Akr. and N. Carolina for that matter. This has happened a few times before, but usually in landslides like 1932, or 1952.
All Gore had to do was win Tennessee and the prize would have been his. His neighbours who know him best, did not vote for him. This despite the fact that he inherited the Senate seat from his father, and was VP for 8 years. For this he is the ultimate loser.
I will take the ‘convenient splitting of assets’ option, Alex (er Kate). Oh I see Mr. LC Bennett beat me to it!
I doubt it has anything whatsoever to do with living with an empty soul. Trippy knew what he was when she married him; it is all about the money.
Perhaps Mrs Gore is a whiz at calculus. She knows when the relative maximum has arrived.
For those commenters who are trying to follow “hide the money”, fugedaboutit. Too little too late.Gore’s personal assests, ie non-corporate, will all be on the table if there is senatorial proceeding that leads to court action. Tipper’s share will only be secure if it can be shown that, in a valid sep agreement the assets she holds as result of their marriage are a product of that marriage. Not going to happen – Gore’s asset generators are too big, too broad, and will not be able to be shown under Tipper’s direction and control. In any case, a competent court can rip that scenario apart if it so chooses, especially if their is criminality involved.
I go with Occam’s razor: Tipper, being heavily invested in mental health issues, has finally figured out Al really is a nutbar, and not just playing one on the world stage.
Yup, transfer the money to the ex wife. Keep the money in the family, an old but predictable dodge.
No wonder Liberals love criminals so. Most at core given the opportunity will snatch what they can. Its a natural instinct of any parasitically life form.
Who could foresee the Nobel prise becoming the equivalent of a mug shot for the rich & Hummm eccentric elitist white collar cons.
JMO
I’d imagine the conversation went something like this:
“Al, why did you buy a nine million dollar estate at water’s edge if the sea levels are going to rise 20 feet? What other lies have you told me?”
Reply:
“Aaaargh, a DENIER in my house – get thee from my mansion, flat-earther!”
I’m surprised no one picked up on the obvious – that Tipper was tired of getting splinters from the wooden Indian.
But seriously – the kids are all grown up now, they have money, and there’s no need to stay together for political reasons. Why would anyone want to hang around with a bloated, sanctimonious hypocrite when there’s money and cabana boys to be had?
Oh, and Mike McM: friggin’ Mazeroski!
Ah, the much-coveted afternoon AM talk radio time slot. I’m pretty sure it’s not a case of not taking calls, but that pretty much no one is listening and therefore, no actual chance for callers.
From New York Social Diary (with a photo of Al and Tipper on their wedding day):
http://www.newyorksocialdiary.com/node/1902456
… the news [from Tipper and Al to their friends] arrived in a blast email … that was instantly forwarded to and re-blasted by the media.
“Hi,” it began. “We wanted to share this personal news with you because we care so much about you as a friend. We are announcing today that after a great deal of thought and discussion, we have decided to separate. This is very much a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration. We ask for respect for our privacy and that of our family, and we do not intend to comment further. Hope to see you soon. – Al and Tipper”
[The writer of this article then reinterprets the e-mail]:
“Hi. We have more friends than we can count and so we’re using the list serve to get the word out. Phew. The lawyers have given us the go ahead. It was hours of negotiations but we’ve worked out the tough stuff. We’re both cool on everything and we’ve made enough money in the last few years to go our own ways and remain friends rather than staying stuck in this marriage and starting to hate each other. We’re not saying another word until “Oprah” or “60 Minutes” offers a platform that is fruitful for the inevitable book contracts we’ll both land due to this announcement. Hope to see you soon.”
Then people who know them are quoted:
“Well, he is married to climate change. He is on the road all the time. He is a driven man.”
“I’ve traveled with him dozens of times. Believe me, he doesn’t have the time. He’s on a mission and that’s what consumes him.”
About Tipper: “She’s got her own life, her photography.”
Al Gore’s Weather (AGW): Ahm under the weather.
BTW, Kalee is mah spokesman.
“Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported that Al Gore would attend the fundraiser.”
“Gore spokeswoman Kalee Kreider said he “supports the fundraising event, but he unfortunately cannot attend.””
…-
“Gore raises for Reid in Silicon Valley”

Maybe Bill Clinton should take advantage of this opportunity to console Tipper in her moment of need.
Maybe Bill already has. heh
Gentlemen/Ladies. This is my prediction why Al and Tipper are separating:
In approximately 6 months a new woman will suddenly emerge that Al is dating. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out a liberal…it’s all about Al.
