U.S. Implicates North Korean Leader in Attack

A new American intelligence analysis of a deadly torpedo attack on a South Korean warship concludes that Kim Jong-il, the ailing leader of North Korea, must have authorized the torpedo assault….

Which means that in the coming hours, the Commander In Chief will summon the full might of the United States military, and together with the collective will of the United Nations Security Council … find a way to apologize.
As you were.
(I do recall some mockery erupting when this incident occurred in March. According to our leftie friends, merely suggesting that the Norks might be responsible for an unprovoked attack on the South was, you know – irresponsible.)

  1. Isnt it time we said no to this group of clowns…They keep saying they will kill us if we dont feed them, and we meakly do.. Its like a hungry tiger in a cage with an open door who threatens its keepers with violence.. Slam the damn door on the bastards, and see how they react, or this belligerence will never stop….We must face the tiger.

Right. All you Lefties out there that may have been temporarily shocked by this revelation move on now.
    Nothing to see here.
Carry on as if you were normal.
Oh, look over there! A kitty!
    How unexpected./off MSM

  3. I’m not worried about this, really. All you have are the following:
    — a maniac with nuclear weapons and complete control over his country’s media,
    — his various well-armed friends in the Middle East ready to go off the deep end,
    — a clueless Marxist college student who vastly overestimates his intelligence and ability as the main decision-maker on our side,
    — the rather hot-headed people of South Korea getting really frustrated,
    — the most evil regime left on earth today right next door with a huge army and ambiguously supporting the maniac (see point one),
    — Putin spending extra hours thinking about how he can profit from all this.
So as I say, there’s nothing to worry about. And the World Cup is starting soon. North and South Korea are playing in that. So are the USA and England, against each other (June 12th) in the ultra-high-security environment that is modern South Africa.
See where I’m going with this —
to the bunker. See you in 2012. Oh wait, 2012 …

  4. This info would be funny as hell, had not so
many good men “not been murdered”.

  5. Why isnt the S Korea Navy blasting one of thiers?
Oh Yea…. Barack is in charge!

Yeah, the usual suspects accused the south of aggression for firing on the Nork vessel….over what they claimed was an accidental explosion.
I recall that. They were holding forth with their vast naval achitechtural expertise.
As if the S. Koreans would have the only warship in the world with a magazine exposed in the stern…..instead of the centre of mass like the rest of the world. The explosion in the stern is the textbook signature of an accoustic homing torpedo…
The reality is especially with a surrender monkey in the White House that everything must wait until objective evidence is obtained. When Tel Aviv gets nuked, there will be a week or so wait while the International Atomic Energy Commission analyses the traces to establish the origin. Then ……Oh never mind..as you were……
In the latter case, Tehran will belong to the ages like Sodom and Gomorah….a vague memmory.

  7. “Why isnt the S Korea Navy blasting one of thiers?”
    Give it a little time.
This sort of quid pro quo is all about sending messages and being plausibly denialble.
“Us? Heaven forfend we would even considered doing such a thing, blowing a train full of food so needed by party cadre, we the agrieved party of a sunk ship. soto voce: “Bastards. Do it again and you’ll find yourself on the personal recieving end of the very highest in S. Korean technology. That was just a small warning.”

  8. Obamugabe requires white capitalist domestic enemies, real or imagined, to advance his goal of producing a one party state ruling with only a shattered, incoherent, ineffectual, opposition providing comic relief. Thus, any actions by foreign states or terrorists which threaten to deflect the attention of the American populace away from entitlements or other such moronic economic demands must be ignored or suppressed.

  9. When this event occurred, I don’t think they had even yet retrieved all of the bodies from the water before I found evidence of the usual Leftie conspiracy theory, namely: “it was probably done by America to justify war with North Korea”.
Some of them, I genuinely fear, are so singularly stupid that the sheer mass of willful ignorance is going to collapse into itself and a constellation of lesser-morons will take up orbital positions around them.

  10. If only S. Korea didn’t have a good chunk of its industry and population within artillery range of the Norks the solution would be fairly simple.
As Kate said, the big zero will likely apologize for the S. Korean ship getting in the way of the torpedo. An elegant way of solving this problem would be to take out Kim Jong-il and all of his relatives, preferably in a manner which makes it look like they died of natural causes. I wonder how large a bribe to the head of Nork presidential security would be needed to arrange for a series of “accidents”.

  11. This extortion reminds me of the black guy in Blazing saddles pointing his own gun at his head and shouting “don’t shot or the niggah gets it.”
And just as in blazing saddles it will work – Kim
will get aid via china just as has done other times he has used this ploy on GWB and WJC.
No one has the appetite for a war costing up to a million lives or more on the Korean peninsula.
The key way to get at Kim is and has always been to lean on china – unfortunately Obama is clueless about how lever them to cut Kim loose.

  12. Isn’t about time we light up these stone age Bolshies? Awwww come on just one small well placed nuke Right up the crazy guy with the clown hair cut’s wazoo. Iran is pussy bait. Let’s treat these degenerate red dog-eaters to an isotope BBQ.
Just one nuke, please pretty please. Aww come on Pentagon no one will miss one lil’ ol’ nuke. Let’s get on it.
I can no longer sit back and allow Communist infiltration, Communist indoctrination, communist subversion, and the international Communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids.

  13. Can North Korea’s missiles make it further than Japan? Like maybe to Vancouver, I mean we have a lot of South Koreans here too, and although there are signs on Boundary Road saying that nuclear warheads are not allowed within the city limits, that’s just on the east side. I live on the Burnaby boundary … what’s to stop them coming from the West? What if they can’t read English?

  14. Nonsense, infidel. Economies are about production and raising the standard of living. Wars are about destruction and producing guns instead of butter, about rationing and shortages.

  15. Destruction is the POINT.. Dont think we will have to ration much in a modern day war, and buckets of money is spent, on jobs, not butter.

  16. This could certainly blow up to be a big deal. But I am comforted to know that Chairman O will show up at the UN General Assembly with a full and comprehensive ………….. apology to Dear Leader.

  17. They are trying to win a PR battle to separate China’s protection ( and veto) from any sanction. Tricky business and in a wide open conflict the South would win, as much as you can use the word “win” where your capital city would be leveled. Seoul is in easy artillery range of the border, unjammable old fashioned artillery
NK is “the” terrorist state and needs to be dealt with but it is easy to scream “attack” when 20%+ of your population won’t be killed, de-housed or without an economy for 10 years.

  18. Gray…Can you say Warthogs?.. Destuctable, blowupable, old fashioned artillery.

  19. I can see the lead paragraph of the Reuters story ghostwritten by the Obama White House.
“In a joint statement from South Korea and the United States, both countries wish to apologize to North Korea for the lose of their torpedo during the incident in March. South Korea apologized for allowing their warship to intercept the torpedo in the manner it did, despite the fact that it resulted in the lose of the South Korean warship and the deaths of 46 South Korean sailors. A White House spokesman stated that while the deaths of the South Korean sailors was tragic, but that’s nothing compared to the impact of the loss of the torpedo will have on North Korea.”
“In a separate announcement the Obama Administration announced new economic sanctions against South Korea today which will make it more difficult for South Korean companies to export vehicles, and electronics to the US. Along side this is an announcement of a new package of economic support for North Korea that will see increased food, and oil shipments to help North Korea deal with this latest tragedy.”

  20. And what will be the response of the western democracies? Nothing. We have lost the will to defend ourselves or our allies. We now want to “nation build” rather than win. We no longer wish to put up with the cost of victory; it would mean we couldn’t buy more unnecessary junk from WalMart. We are willing to roll over and let the lean and hungry tyrants of the world dictate our values; just so long as we can keep spending on more unnecessary junk from WalMart.
Additionally, since almost all our finished steel and other processed commodities now come from China, and they would oppose any action against North Korea, we have no choice but to sit idly by and watch our enemies destroy our friends. We have have sold our birthright for the chance to buy cheap, unnecessary junk from WalMart.

  21. Obama is about to demonstrate the value of having America as an allie.
Kinda like have France for an allie in WW2.

  22. Why would US officials rush to blame the Norks, while admitting that their assessment is “based on their sense of the political dynamics there rather than hard evidence”? They have the hard evidence, but foolishly reveal that their assessment is based instead on their sense of the “dynamics”. It’s because they know it was the Norks, they know the “political dynamics” at work, and they can’t allow those dynamics to be made public. Blaming the Norks so quickly is intended to deflect attention away from the man behind the curtain. It’s China, folks. The Norks do nothing without orders or permission from the ChiComs. Part of that curtain is the very convenient characterization of Kim as mad. Kim doesn’t tease his hair without permission from Peking(!).
The profession talkers—those who measure everything by how much talk goes on—can’t allow anything to get in the way of the upcoming powwow between the US and China. The sinking of the Korean ship was China’s opening statement.

  23. “South Korea has suggested it will push for a U.N. Security Council resolution condemning North Korea, however China has so far remained silent on the matter and it’s unclear if Beijing would support such a measure.” From Foreign Policy magazine.
It appears it’s business as usual, the UN calls for sanctions, and China demurs.
I thought North Korea was already under “sanctions”. Are sanctions like concurrent sentencing in our justice system, you know, where you murder 15 kids and get ONE life sentence?
Hillary Clinton says there has to be an “international response”,by which,I assume, she means some other Country should lead the way rather than ask the U.S. to do it. Faint hope.
The most interesting part of this deal is watching to see how China phrases her “piss off” to the Americans.
In support of the coming sanctions, I am going to boycott all products from North Korea, if I can find any to boycott, and will continue this action until South Korea gets a sincere,”I’m sorry” from North Korea.
And the next time this happens, I want an IMMEDIATE sincere apology from North Korea,or I’m gonna boycott their products even more firmly!

  24. With any luck we will never know the retribution exacted. I suggest this: A couple of Los Angeles class subs take up patrol on the coasts of North Korea and quietly sink ever single NK sub they find. No big visible battle, no press coverage, just a very pointed message to Mr. Kim.

  25. Knowing that Obama is a man of action, we should see a swift response.
I have no doubt that a very strongly worded letter is being composed as we speak…

  26. If the problem was merely between North and South Korea, North Korea would have lost AGES ago. In reality, North Korea is China’s pet project and South Korea is something of an American protectorate. North Koreans have suffered gravely in the Kim dynasty. They have been starved, brutalised, imprisoned, lied to and sheltered. When they DO defect, they experience more medical and academic problems than their southern cousins. Many South Koreans fear a unification because it would be the Asian version of East/West Germany. So much for the Ministry of Reunification!
No one wants to do anything abut North Korea, least of all this administration (to be fair, Bush took North Korea off the terrorism list). This is Obama’s chance to act and believe me, he won’t. If he was smart and had a conscience, he would penalise China (and Russia, too) for backing a terrorist state, aid an internal struggle in North Korea to overthrow the Kim dynasty or at least give information about the outside world and encourage South Korea and Japan to nuclearise.
    No such luck.

  27. FRED……..unlike the USA, France was the second country to declare war on Germany…..hours after the Brits…..and combat losses were comparable to the USA….France fought hard just not good enough. Crippled by the lack of air power. The war winning french aircraft were fatally delayed thanks to the leftwing gov’t that was thrown out of office to late. The cowardly french is a Hollywood legend to make the american feel better about missing the first 2 1/2 yrs of the war.

  28. Mad Maxxx, I agree with you that the military prowess of the French has been unfairly maligned in postwar pop culture. They were failed most egregiously by the poor quality of their general staff at the outbreak of war, but that is not a reflection on the quality of the average French fighting man. However, I don’t think Americans have any need to “feel better” about missing the first 2.5 years of WWII. Before we were attacked by Japan we had no need to become involved, militarily. The mood of the country was quite isolationist, it was no easy task to convince people to get involved in what they saw as yet another European war.

  29. I sit left of you Kate, and I didn’t for a minute think it was anyone but the North Koreans. It’s simple to paint people as belonging to one camp or another, but the reality is much different.

Happy Infidal…Can YOU say HARTS….Hardened artillery sites…..NORK HEAVY artillery dug deep into solid rock mountains in concealed man made caves.
These constitute a more survivable offense/defense line than the vaunted Magino Line.
They are vulnerable to cruise missiles.
