  1. When the truth about that commercial came out, I was reminded of the late, great sci-fi writer Robert Heinlein’s description in one of his novels of the 5 basic ways to lie.
One of the ways, the one the Gummint Motors Commissar used in this ad, is to tell the facts, BUT not all the facts. Just enough of them to leave the false impression that one wants to leave.

  2. “One of the ways, the one the Gummint Motors Commissar used in this ad…”
Wups, my bad. I meant to say in the original GM ad.

  3. and since the whole bailout was for the benefit of the United Auto Workers pension Fund, he is double lying . . . not telling all the facts and claiming an alternate purpose for the funds.
But hey, since Barry bows & scrapes to foreign potentates, the least he can do is payoff his biggest supporters using taxpayer’s money.

  5. PRICELESS!!!!
…and truth will set you free, or at least let the people know about the lies.

  6. What’s disturbing is the number of people that take the original commercial at face value.

  7. Good work! This (original) ad has pissed me off since the first time I saw it!
There is no way in hell they could have paid back the loan in full, they’d have had to sell a Cadillac to every person in China!
Very well done spoof,I hope it gets lots of hits.

  8. Actually, the Cdn gov’t didn’t give money directly to GM … they bought shares in the company.
So who exactly got paid back??
