  1. This is interesting for a few reasons. It appears that Pablo Rodriguez was in a car accident on APRIL 16th,and was charged with “refusing to blow”. Today,MAY 14th,he let us know because,as he says,”I decided to disclose this event to the public because I play a public role and consider that I must be transparent at all times,” he told reporters. I found this story at the always unbiased CBC. The story was put up at 6:13 p.m. on a Friday. Did CBC know about this beforehand? . Will there be an inquiry? Will there be outrage? Michael is singing from Helena’s songbook and is standing by his man,for now.

  3. Joe
Why would you mouth off like that? Hurt by some previous slight? Cut off when you were acting like an ass? Threatened by the intelligence?

  4. Take Me Obama – Supreme Court Nominee Kagan in 2005
    ————-
“[Obama] opened his mouth, said a few words, and the place was mesmerized. You could hear a pin drop. In part, that is because of all the rock star qualities he has: the eloquence, the magnetism, the great looks, the brilliance. When he opens his mouth, you know what you’re getting.”

Kagan went on to call Obama a “hero,” concluding that he is “truly one of the great public servants of our time,” and gives many “hope” in the future of our country.

  5. Thomas Sowell -Takes on ‘Intellectuals’
In short: an intellectual is a self-inflated, self-congratulatory, lover of self; a person so in thrall to beautiful theories that he is incapable of correction and impervious to evidence. Superman had kryptonite, but an intellectual’s shield of self-assurance cannot be breached by any known substance, especially fact.
    http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/thomas-sowell-takes-on-intellectuals/
Also a review of the review
An intellectual is a person who falls so in love with a speculative theory that they are blind to the practical effects of that theory.
It is not the theory that is the problem, for they are legion. But it is love. Love turns butt-ugly into beautiful. Love creates the desire to protect and defend.
There are no known means by which we can talk a somebody out of love. Worse, the more you try, the more blind the victim becomes.
Thus, the most effective manner of dealing with the love-stricken is to ignore him completely. And by “completely”, I mean completely.

  6. Check out the CBC video of Evan Solomon’s Power and Politics discussing Marci McDonald’s “The Armageddon Factor.” Evan without the hat, McDonald appears to be a bona fide twitchy, witchy, nutbar (@ 24:45):

Then, @ 1:13:34, see Ezra Levant come out swinging and Liberal blogger Rob Silver’s responses to Marci McDonald’s claim that there are “half a dozen” “Christian right” think tanks and lobbies having quite an influence (she would say undue influence) on the CPC government’s policies.
Oh dear: HALF A DOZEN “CHRISTIAN RIGHT” THINK TANK AND LOBBY GROUPS? What’s the world coming to? How many secular, left-liberal, pro-feminist, pro-gay think tanks and lobby groups are operative on the Hill? That could be the subject of Marci’s next book. That and the number of Catholics in the Liberal Party.
    ‘How ’bout it, Marci?

  7. whoops. Correction re post above” “EVEN without the hat …” Freudian slip …

Intelligence! Wow, let’s see now, what can I say about cheese. Originally, it was conceived when my ancestors in France and Scotland left goat’s milk sitting in a pot too long. Little Joseph came home one day and said: “Mon Dieu Maman! C’est bon ca!” And thus–cheese was born.
Wish I could say more good buddy! 10-4 over and out!!
PS: When I lived on a farm, I had a neighbour who possesed an IQ of 124. A computer programmer by day, a farmer by night. He ran out of gas in his SP swather one night. He walked over to a neighbour’s place and got a gallon of gas in a Javex jug. By the time he got back, it was dark. He used a match to light his way to find his gas cap. Kaboom. So much for “HI-Qs.” And by the by, 20 comments on a blog that brags to have an “Intelligent” audience is not really good! Don’t give up your day jobs!

PS: My aunt was a psych nurse in the 60’s. I worked in drug and alcohol rehab, and no I don’t use solvents or booze. All disillusioned minds speak a lingo that may seem intelligent to some, and that most of us don’t understand. I forget the fancy term for the disorder, but trust me that when the real world meets these guys head on, they are never stuck for words. They are almost always, however, stuck for actions!

  10. batb – the CBC has cut out the interview with Ezra. The CBC is sooo unbiased? ‘ Da Proof is da poof’ – need further evidence anyone? Anyone? Why do we have these hate mongers on the payroll?

  11. OMG, Jema 54. It figures.
Ezra was DYNA-MITE, pointing out that if a book had been written about Jews or Muslims saying the inflammatory things Marci McDonald has said, often erroneously, about Christians, it wouldn’t be tolerated. He kept pointing out that she should be after “the Jews” if she wants to expose a group with a lot of power in Canada and on the Hill.
Go to Dr. Roy’s Thoughts, “ezra demolishes marci mcdonald’s delusions:
    http://torydrroy.blogspot.com/
The video’s still up there. Quick!

  12. Jema 54, the video’s still opening for me at Dr. Roy’s Thoughts: Click on “at around 24:45” highlighted in blue. It should come up.
‘Sorry, Kate. I don’t mean this to be a chat room, but it’s a good video which a lot of people should watch.

  13. Got it to run batb – thanks. Ezra is outstanding! He makes a point that I believe to be true – the Liberanos/msm want to pit this county’s citizens against each other. Divide and Conquer.

  14. No Offense, Vit
But Lena Horne’s intro to the clip is good, and her song after the duet is knock out in this longer version of the same piece. It also has Teddy Wilson’s Orchestra.
    Good stuff!
