It takes some serious Globeite spin (later in the link) to twist the testimony of former Minister on National Defence Bill Graham:
Sounds pretty much like what the current government has been saying…
Congo: Jim Travers of the Toronto Star really loathes Rick Hillier

Jim Travers the Toronto flake, couldn’t pack Rick Hilliers lunch. Whatever these morons in the current print/TV from Fife to Travers have to spout is garbage, TMZ political coverage for Canada, the pansie parade as they are, are not worth the trees and airwaves they are wasting. Get a strapadicktomie Travers, go hang out in Scarboruough around 2 am and you will beg for a man with NUTS like Hillier to save your pantiewaist ass, you won’t be calling Iggy for help, that is for sure.
Send Travers to the Congo, with a one way ticket…
He can then report how well the current UN mission is ‘keeping the peace’.
Ah yes…rape, pillage and plunder.
Charlatan!
Cheers

1st Saint Nicolaas Army
Army Group “True North”
The problem for Travers and the rest of the lefty rabble is that Hillier does, with candor and colourful words, speak plain truths about the world. (Soldiers, cops and farmers can cut through B.S. better than anyone else).
The left occupy a pretend world. They see society as they would like it to be and their messengers, such as Travers, try to convince us that the world could match their ideals if only human kind would smarten up and do things their way. Then along comes someone like Hillier to throw cold water on their reveries. Is it any wonder they resent him so passionately?
The big deal about Afghan detainees is it’s the only thing the Liberals have to howl and scream about to try and smear the Conservatives. However, I noticed on the TV last night and the radio this morning, the biased media is now trying to make an issue over the whole Geurgis issue. “Why did Harper fire her? She’s innocent!” seems to be the new talking point, now that there doesn’t appear to be anything they can use.
Ge, Lewis MacKenzie emphatically spoke against Canadian forces getting involved in the Congo, and stated exactly why.
His word is good enough for me. Let’s not risk our best young people on another third world shithole that will never rise above tribalism, and endure the MSM screaming “torture” or “murderers” every time they try to defend themselves.
The way things are going, they may be needed in more developed Countries soon.

History can be a bitch, can’t it?
And PMSH is playing shrewd chess with this little piece of history. This will backfire bigtime on the Liberals.
And the Fife/Tavers/CBC?Lame Street Media haven’t figured out yet that 99% of Canadians don’t give a flying foo-foo if some Taliban got his ears boxed in some Afghan jail . . that’s what they do over their, that is their culture.
99% of Canadians would believe Rick or Lew over Travers/Fife/Jacko and the rest of the loony left progressive accumulation of pond scum.
Of course calling them pond scum is insulting.
To pond scum.
Yet in the real Canada of working people one cannot find a single soul the least bit interested in the captured terrorists, for let us be honest that is what they are. They are not detainees stopped for jay-walking or shop lifting.
Fred makes a good point about how the Afghan authorities treat their prisoners being part of their culture. So where are our metrosexuals, the great defenders and supporters of multiculturalism? They should be demanding that we not impose our culture and values on the Afghans, n’est-ce pas?
“Stuart Hendin, a University of Ottawa expert on armed conflict and human rights law.”
Ah….yet another clown from the University of Zero. Pretty much says it all.
I’m sure this has been said before-
the Liberals couldn’t care less about the detainees. This is a smear job.
I have been trying to think of something new to say about this circus, but, I can’t. Suffice it to say that my disgust for a great many of the people who hold places in the House of Commons continues to increase.
Hopefully while all eyes are focused on this non issue, PMSH and his people are continuing to pick away at the monstrous job of cleaning up the many, many rats nests left by the Libs.

After the Cdn. Police Chief’s Asssoc and the Canadian Police Assoc. coming out in favour of retaining the Gun Registry, we’re down to soldiers and farmers.
With dairy farmers and egg producers supporting anti-free market supply-management systems – and most of Ontario’s corn-growers looking for the same – maybe we’re down to one.
CBC has another story up about Graham’s testimony. It is buried in the politics section. They do this every time anyone refutes the Liberal spin. No bias there. http://www.cbc.ca/politics/story/2010/05/12/detainee-afghan-graham.html#socialcomments
You gotta remember the rules they live by: If it’s done by a Liberal it’s good, the best that mankind can accomplish. If the same action is done by a Conservative, it is bad, there’s no redeeming qualities.
So the Librano crime syndicate set up a flawed transfer agreement regarding Afghan terrorists captured by Canadian soldiers, seemingly based solely on the Librano ideology of anti-Americanism. The next step… smear the new Conservative Government with accusations of being “war criminals”, and complicity in “war crimes”… for what… inheriting the Librano transfer scheme ? More of the same from the media and the Libturds… an ugly, and cynical quest for power at any cost.
Hey Jamie, you might be surprised, even though the dairy and egg farmers want to keep their supply market, most grain farmers I know do not not want government interference in the market. Most of the dairy and egg guys are big suit and tie “farmers” with employees and just want to keep their monopoly. Don’t know about the corn farmers.
The Cdn. Police Chief’s Association and the Canadian Police Association are political organizations. That says it all.
I know who Rick Hillier is, but who is Jim Travers? Should he be Fifed?
Just slip Travers a fifth and he will be silent and absent until it is a dead soldier…..repeat as necessary.
Inexplicitly, Liberals/Leftists always agitate for the next foreign military mission, rather than the current theatre of operations. Thus Chretien clearly stated that Canada’s role was in Afghanistan, where we could do some good, rather than Iraq. Having soured on this mission as soon as casualties occurred, they argue now for our troops to go to Darfur, or the Congo, anywhere but Afghanistan.
I agree totally with Rick Hillier that Canada should never again agree to a mission under UN command. The memory of Rhwanda, and our general on the ground having to plead with Manhattan bureaucrats to save the lives of his troops and thousands of civilians, must never be repeated. This spectacle was similar to NHL referees phoning Toronto to see if the puck actually went in, but with deadly consequences.
By all accounts, coruption, chaos and unspeakable violence is many times worse in the Congo than in Afghanistan. If we did agree to send troops, how long would it take for Liberals/NDP types to unearth new “war crimes”? This is one mission Canada must sit out.
IMO it’s as predictable as taxes and death …. leftards are always wrong and the thing that gets to them the deepest is having to deal with people who are simply right.

Not around here, Ken.
A group of professors is urging Ontario’s law society to investigate allegations that the federal government’s lead counsel at hearings into the handling of Afghan detainees is in a conflict of interest. http://fairwhistleblower.ca/content/professors-want-probe-detainee-case-lawyer
Sad to see the Canadian Right so dominated by amoral, torture-loving psychopaths.
I have yet to see a single conservative with the slightest concern for the suffering of the innocent people in those prisons.
Canadian Tories, rotten to the core.
